I fully agree with number one. Most Parasites in games are only a threat to humanity or organic life... but Lavos is a threat to the very world itself. Combine that with how it can manipulate others to do its bidding, warp time by its very existence, copy traits for any living creature from any point in history, and most frightening of all can break through the main characters plot armor. That power is nothing to scoff at. And that is just one of them, with the implication that if it wins its children will continue to infest the rest of the universe.
@@aliastheabnormal Not only that, but Dalton made *sure* to "kill" off both Crono and Marle before the events of CC, whether or not they're still alive after the Fall of Guardia in 1005.
God, dread just made the X EVEN WORSE. Not only can they copy, they can IMPROVE. One of the first things you see once they show up is an x infecting a common enemy, and MORPHING IT SO IT HAS TRAITS OF A SEPARATE SPECIES ADDED. And the there's RB-X. *shudders* Of course, the ending and QR-X add a whole lot of questions about them.
that was already a thing in Fusion, I thought. Was even necessary to manipulate at one point for a collectable, killing two enemies and letting the X fuse into a stronger enemy you could freeze to act as a platform.
I'm more partial to the Chaos Kin from Kid Icarus: Uprising. While fighting against Viridi and her Forces of Nature, Pit takes the fight to the Lunar Sanctum, a moon-sized base that Palutena, understandably, would rather not have lying around. One problem, though: It's actually one giant prison for arguably the most dangerous creature in existence. Thanks to Viridi's subordinate/butler, Arlon, deciding he can't relay this probably important information without a direct order, the Sanctum is destroyed and the Chaos Kin escapes. Three years later (much to everyone's surprise), Pit wakes up from the world's strangest nap to find that Palutena has gone rogue. According to Viridi, the Chaos Kin has possessed her and is using her to attack humanity. Once Pit is able to break her free from it's control, it moves to Plan B: ripping Palutena's very soul from her body, which also turns her to stone. So Pit has to defeat the Chaos Kin before it can fully consume the Goddess of Light's soul, all while fighting its own constructs of past enemies (which I'm going to assume is a side-effect of having the soul [and likely related memories] in its possession). Maybe not a strict idea of a parasite, but certainly one of the most persistent and powerful.
What about Doc.X, the Ms. Marvel villain? I mean yeah he's a computer virus and a comic book character but he can somehow control people's minds and he started out by learning behavior from Ms. Marvel's fictional video game World of Battlecraft.

Huh, in a roundabout way Sephiroth is one too, he intended to inflict moral damage on the planet in order to claim it's energy for himself, in fact he was more or less after the planet's blood.
Really nice list and I can definately see the reason behind every single entry on it, but what makes me kinda sad is that Nihilego from Pokemon: Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon did not make it's way here.
Number 0: Let them meet each other and see what happens. Okay, considering Lavos is a Magic-Parasyte that can devour Space-Time, it would be enough in Theory. I just wonder what Apocalypse of Apocalypses would spawn from that.
YES!!! I was hoping to see Parasite Eve on this list! Also, Maya wasn't the one driving. At the time of the accident, Aya and Maya were 5 years old. It was Eve that influenced their mom, Mariko, to crash the car that held her and her twin daughters. The accident killed Mariko, but Maya, who also died, was an registered as an organ donor. Maya's kidney was transferred to Melissa while her cornea was given to Aya, who suffered an eye defect. And it wasn't Eve that messed with Melissa's immune system. That was supplied by the doctor, most likely Hans Klamp, to keep Melissa's immune system from rejecting Maya's kidney. And the reason why Aya's mitochondria doesn't control her is because they're working with her to destroy Eve. It's basically the Selfish Gene, where creatures will fight with other members of the same species to ensure survival. Since Eve is stronger, Aya's mitochondria works with their host to take Eve down. And it's when Truebred Eve was defeated that Aya's mitochondria tried to take her over. After Maya died, Hans Klamp took and cultivated her liver, basically reviving Maya as Truebred Eve, a much stronger Mitochondria Eve who hides out in the Chrysler Building. She's basically the backup plan if Mitochondria Eve and the Ultimate Being failed. Once Truebred Eve is defeated, Aya's mitochondria is then considered the strongest and without rival, causing it to try and overtake Aya until Maya, who regains herself, stops the hostile takeover.

Great job! A lot of good entries for this list and a bit different from the usual lists we see for Halloween. Here's my suggestion for a countdown: Top Ten Video Game Curses.
You know I think we could give an honnorable mention to Jenova aka the true villain of FFVII, because yeah she can be define as a parasite and I truly think they grow inspiration from Lavos, just like Lavos she came from space her origins are unknown, she doesn't seem to have a specific goal other than destroying life forms of world she infected, cause yes she infects Planets but also human forms directly being able to put her genes into other life form, these genes can turn them into mindless monsters or control them directly, she also has mimic ability able to copy the form of the ones she killed and collect their which she used to disguised herself and kill the loved one of the people she already killed, she almost by herself destroy all the cetra civilization and they were just able to sealed her, and she still doing her worst today despite being extremely weak compare to before with Sephiroth's carrying her cells and power (I'm wondering at some points if Sephiroth is really himself or control by the Jenova cells), and just like in Chrono Trigger with Lavos human civilization was able to spread and become the majority because she killed the cetra, and Shinra's special unit SOLDIER are just human with some of her Cells put in them to make them superhuman. In my opinion she's definitly a parasite and the true antagonist of FFVII and I ask the question to Square in all seriousness with their compilation of FFVII thing WHY haven't done a game about the battle between the Cetra and Jenova 2000 years ago I mean common there is potential here !
Fun fact: Samson's name is a refrence to the biblical figure of the same name, who's hair (blessed by god i guess) gave him his inhuman strength, but he cut it off one day.
I don't know if you've worked out what to do for Weapons Month, but I have five countdown ideas if you're looking. - Knife Fighters - Beastmasters (You wanted something for Metal Gear's The Pain? Here you go) - Card Wielders - Jacks of all Trade, those with the ability to proficiently wield any weapon given to them, unlike Weapon Improvisers who also use things that aren't made to be weapons - Medics (Not really fighters, but essential to any battle) Hope this helps
10:Am I’m the only one who find them cute. 9:Oh great, this parasite...screw the clickers! 8:oh why,oh WHY DO THEY HAVE TO EXIST?!?!? 7:I thought Eliza’s parasitic organism would be on the list,at least we have Samson. 6:Thanks Oscar!,mitochondria Eve is now on my top 10 Scariest video game characters. 5:G.U.I.L.T has to be made by a doomsday group, I agree with Oscar Screw them. 4:The only thing I remember about this zombie parasite is the FREAKING REGENERATOR!! 3:I.REALLY.HATE.THE FREAKING.FLOOD’S HIVE-MIND!!!😫😫 2:Just like Varric would say”If you solve one problem, a new problem is form.” I really terrified of nightmare. 1:With Lavos,......Their is NO WAY I’LL NEVER LOOK AT THE GAME’S HISTORY THE SAME WAY AGAIN!!!😫😫😫
As soon as I saw #1, I was SO happy that we don't have a gargantuan alien invader like Lavos sleeping deep within our planet only to wake up and destroy the entire world otherwise we'd ALL be dead!
I'd have picked the flower from Drakengard 3. Considering Zero can't die (he flower makes a new body for her) and when she once tried to end herself, the flower split it's power into the corpses of 4 girls near her when she first got the flower. And it's using Zero and her sisters to destroy the world.
Was going to say Jenova, but then I remembered that she's basically just a weaker version of Lavos as far as her abilities as a parasite are concerned. Sephiroth is a lot closer to Lavos in terms of concept, but It's probably a stretch to call him a parasite, seeing as how if he won, he probably wouldn't need to spread his Jenova cells and just skip straight to the meteor phase. Even then I would still pick Lavos. As much as love sephy (he's my favorite ff villain, don't hate me, its just personal preference), supernova aint gonna help you against a being who makes time and space his bitch.
This is a great list with good candidates. I would have loved to see a reference to the Zerg from StarCraft or the Aparoids from StarFox, but who am I to judge? This is your opinion and I respect it. Keep on making great videos
The Aparoids and Zerg don’t count because they can assimilate others but the they kill their prey and while Zerg can infect humans with only because their cells are as adaptable as the rest of them and function like a virus
A few Parasites do have Symbioses with there host's up grading them to survive better with there host keeping the host alive and them self's in the process.
When I clicked on this video I was honestly thinking "I'm willing to bet he looks over parasite eve. I'll just post it in the comments about it later" Only to have myself shout YES at number 6 * Maybe I shouldn't have thought that when the game itself is called PARASITE Eve
Dracul hellsing to be fair, both Rabbidluigi and Fawful’s Minion went over them in their “Top 10 Scariest Enemies” countdowns, so I’m okay with not having them on this list
You can argue that the infection from Hollow Knight could qualify for the list because it comes from a living being (the true final boss). They even use the body that they reside in to attack your character. But even though it wasn't on here, this is still a really good list!
I know this may or may not count, but there’s also the Rosalia virus from Trauma team. I'm still able to sleep happy seeing GUILT from Trauma Center on this list.
22:52 Incorrect, the precursors(the race that the powder came from) turned themselves into a powder that was supposed to regrow back into them, but then whether due to age or achient humans mucking about with it the powder got corrupted and became the flood we know today, although the 1 precursor who was still around didnt seem to mind taking over the flood and attempting to destroy the forerunners. EDit:28:11 if i remember correctly, the explosion also took the planet with them soooo
I feel the need to mention the beast from homeworld cataclysm. It is everything the flood is and cybernetic-ish, meaning a battle cruiser is an edible dinner table to it. And what you as a player face and manage to beat is likely only a tiny fraction that got caught on the windshield of an intergalactic travel. And if so much as a few cells escape destruction its coming back.
Number 2 final lines made me remember about Game Theory episode about metroids and x parasites. Which if the animals saving were canon, means that yeah, Mr. G.Scorpion, there are some parasites left...and they are more closer to Samus than you may think.
That GT video has always bothered me cause there is one blatant thing MP missed. (Or chose to ignore) There is a line when the computer says "I confirmed they were not X hosts and gave them a berth." If he had just given some explanation to why the ship may have been wrong or something I would at least accept it even if I didn't buy it. But by not even acknowledging that line, which single-handedly debunks the entire video when uncontested, it just makes that video feel really awkward.
I personally would have put the Flood higher. But then that's cause the forerunner trilogy of books made the flood stupidly powerful. Like they can use star roads to bend space time powerful. The forerunner trilogy got weird...
I say the neurax worm from Plague Inc. and Plague Inc. Evolved was pretty unsettling, if a bit standard as far as fictional parasites go. Then again, I can't say that I know many parasites who've helped Santa spread joy when not taking over the world.
Two gaming parasites that I think are really cool are the Bionis and Mechonis from Xenoblade Chronicles. I can't really explain why either of them qualify as parasites without spoiling really major plot points, and they are parasites in separate ways from each other, but anyone who has played the game will know what I'm talking about
Spoiler warning: I get how the Bionis could count as a parasite, albeit in a somewhat roundabout way since Zanza sort of created humans to feed off of in the first place and humans literally live on it's body, but how is the Mechonis a parasite? Meyneth is ultimately benevolent and the Mechonis doesn't seem to require ether from it's inhabitant in the same way the Bionis does.
Patrick Bever-Chritton well Remember when you first get to Sword Valley, and Mechonis is directly draining the ether from the Bionis, almost like a tick sucking blood?
Don't forget, the flood corrupts ai's by telling them how to defeat the flood... *I'M NOT JOKING, IT DOES THIS IN CANNON! AS NOT JUST THAT, BUT IT CAN OUTHACK CORTONA!*
I like the list but no mention of the queens from dead rising? Those things are like the jeweled wasp for humans. Plus I feel like it should get a mention cause the thing was purely by accident from experiments to get more beef for the U.S where as things like the t-virus and those bugs were weaponized from the get go
Correction: While it is true that Flood excels when the assimilate sentient life, they do not solely hunt down and assimilate sentient species. So take heart and know that not even the dreadful copyright protectors are safe from this parasite!
Fun fact about cordycepts: it's been recently discovered they actually do not take over their host's brain. They are worse. Taking over limbs of host they make it move as they please. All while the host is still conscious and literally locked in its own body.

@@JaelinBezel Yeah, that's right. Makes all of this much scarier, don't you think?
FaultyGear yeah that is way worse
So they're literally puppet masters, and the hosts are the puppets?!
Now THAT is absolutely unsettling!
Genuine question, _how_ did they find out the cordycepts are somehow even more nightmare fuel than originally thought?
GS: "Samus...honey...are you sure you got all of them?"
Metroid Dread: "Allow me to introduce myself!"

Soooo.... Tep ten video game viruses? Pokérus could be an interesting inclusion there, being an unusual case of a positive virus.
And don't forget the Frenzy Virus from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
28:00 That question sure aged well.
Me: “Flooded? Water can’t flood space, there’s zero Gravity up the-
*Hears Quire*
Me: “Ohhhhhhhh...that makes more sense”.
26:23 “Hopefully there is not any diverse wildlife in there to inhabit the spaceship, oh wait the whole ship is basically a zoo, DAMN IT!”
You have my props, good sir, for mentioning Parasite Eve. A vastly underrated game, IMHO.
- Knife Fighters
- Beastmasters (You wanted something for Metal Gear's The Pain? Here you go)
- Card Wielders
- Jacks of all Trade, those with the ability to proficiently wield any weapon given to them, unlike Weapon Improvisers who also use things that aren't made to be weapons
- Medics (Not really fighters, but essential to any battle)
Hope this helps
You just want him to talk about Link again so you can shoot at him.
It's nice to hear Oscar talk about Halo. The game has rich lore that some people probably miss out on.
24:29
Hey hey hey!! Where is that claw touching?! XD
Don't think I didn't noticed the use of the "Flames of Eternity" rom hack during your No. 1 segment.
I haven't started watching it yet but I have had this idea in the back of my mind for a while so I was hyped as shit when it popped up.
28:22 Man, I would DREAD to see if they can. Perhaps we should check and make sure they're all gone
If metroid dread is anything to go by, Samus was just getting started.
10:Am I’m the only one who find them cute.
9:Oh great,this parasite...screw the clickers!
3:I.REALLY.HATE.THE FREAKING.FLOOD’S HIVE-MIND!!!😫😫
2:Just like Varric would say”If you solve one problem, a new problem is form.” I really terrified of nightmare.
1:With Lavos,......Their is NO WAY I’LL NEVER LOOK AT THE GAME’S HISTORY THE SAME WAY AGAIN!!!😫😫😫
28:03 Well, this certainly aged well in light of the announcement of Metroid Dread lol
As soon as I saw #1, I was SO happy that we don't have a gargantuan alien invader like Lavos sleeping deep within our planet only to wake up and destroy the entire world otherwise we'd ALL be dead!
Man, that flood one, somehow I just new it would be there.
Hey, uh, Green Scorpion, you once made a April Fools Top 10 Scorpions right? Well....i would love to see a actual version of it
first of all, love your channel!!
Your playthroughs are really entertaining and your videos just super fun to watch, great job!
0:45 Ah yes, nothing like a good joke.
And THAT was NOTHING like a good joke.
So... Lavos is hooked up to the Gaia Library?! Shit!! We'll need the power of Gold W Xtroime and then some to kill this thing!
Hey Oscar, when are you going to make more top tens? They're awesome! I learned a lot from your lists.
While not video games ive always loved the scraplets in transformers cause they are small parasitic robots that eat metal
They're adorable, but terrifying-
Had to skip the countdown due to being terrified of this topic. Looking forward to the next one.
Oscar: Samus, are you sure you got all of them ?
Nintendo: Well about that... *Metroid Dread*
18:11 I mean, if you ask me, "Monday" is by far the worst GUILT.
A few Parasites do have Symbioses with there host's up grading them to survive better with there host keeping the host alive and them self's in the process.
Oh god, you had to remind me of the Flood. Still makes my skin crawl.😖
the infection from hollow knight is just the influence by the radiance
For the mention of RE, my favorite is forever the G-virus. shout out to William Birkin.
Tiny bit of inaccurate information. The Flood DO infect animals. They did so on the infinite succor which was detailed in the Halo graphic novel.
Damit Scorpion it's 11 at night and i want to sleep
When I clicked on this video I was honestly thinking
"I'm willing to bet he looks over parasite eve. I'll just post it in the comments about it later"
Only to have myself shout YES at number 6
* Maybe I shouldn't have thought that when the game itself is called PARASITE Eve
What about the chaos kin from kid icarus uprising? It's powerful enough to control litteral gods and take over an entire heavenly domain.
Was really hoping I'd get to hear Oscar talk about Necromorphs.
(Or chose to ignore)
There is a line when the computer says "I confirmed they were not X hosts and gave them a berth."
If he had just given some explanation to why the ship may have been wrong or something I would at least accept it even if I didn't buy it. But by not even acknowledging that line, which single-handedly debunks the entire video when uncontested, it just makes that video feel really awkward.
22:47 Ohhhhh that Haloid clip, my heart........
So wait, Lavos is the precursor of the Life Fibers?
im just glad the bulbmin are here
there are just the cutest abominations i ever did see
Could we have a Top Ten Favourite Final Fantasy Character list from you at some point?
I wonder, could you make a parasite that can devour the flood? A parasite that could feed on it? Like the metroid with the x.
I personally would have put the Flood higher. But then that's cause the forerunner trilogy of books made the flood stupidly powerful. Like they can use star roads to bend space time powerful. The forerunner trilogy got weird...
The X-Parasites and Lavos just edged the Flood out.
I say the neurax worm from Plague Inc. and Plague Inc. Evolved was pretty unsettling, if a bit standard as far as fictional parasites go. Then again, I can't say that I know many parasites who've helped Santa spread joy when not taking over the world.
Judging from your Hollow knight playthrough, I can tell this gives you an opportunity to discuss how you feel about it.
Two gaming parasites that I think are really cool are the Bionis and Mechonis from Xenoblade Chronicles. I can't really explain why either of them qualify as parasites without spoiling really major plot points, and they are parasites in separate ways from each other, but anyone who has played the game will know what I'm talking about
Spoiler warning:
I get how the Bionis could count as a parasite, albeit in a somewhat roundabout way since Zanza sort of created humans to feed off of in the first place and humans literally live on it's body, but how is the Mechonis a parasite? Meyneth is ultimately benevolent and the Mechonis doesn't seem to require ether from it's inhabitant in the same way the Bionis does.
Patrick Bever-Chritton well
Remember when you first get to Sword Valley, and Mechonis is directly draining the ether from the Bionis, almost like a tick sucking blood?
Happy Happy Halloween, Halloween, Halloween
Happy Happy Halloween, Halloween, Halloween
Happy Happy Halloween, Halloween, Halloween
Silver Shamrock!
Great countdown Green Scorpion! Solid list!
It sounded more like Aya developed some kind of symbiosis. Though it didn't seem to do much.
Plus I feel like it should get a mention cause the thing was purely by accident from experiments to get more beef for the U.S where as things like the t-virus and those bugs were weaponized from the get go
How about "Top Ten Characters That Did Nothing Wrong", aka characters that suffered way more than they deserved?
That feels like a JoshScorcher style topic more than a Green Scorpion style topic to me.
These thumbnails are just getting better and better. I mean, these are just amazing! Who does them? I need to find that guy
Girl. It's my girlfriend Ignis.
@@greenscorpion64 I meant it as a person guy, not you know, a male. Tell her to keep up the good work. Same with yourself Oscar!
Hive Worms? From Destiny. They essentially force the host to act a certain way or it will eat them : soul and body
Venom: PARASITE!?
Great list BTW.
The Chozo should have left a message: "Metroids very important; do not genocide."
Correction: While it is true that Flood excels when the assimilate sentient life, they do not solely hunt down and assimilate sentient species. So take heart and know that not even the dreadful copyright protectors are safe from this parasite!
Great choice for #1.
