Honestly I'm not sure Kerrigan would count either way, I dunno about her Hots incarnation but IIRC she doesn't really use minions in her personal attacks so much as command the Zerg as a whole. Sure she's the queen of the zerg swarm but she's more of a general/warlord with bug themed troops then a true swarm master.
@@SampoPaalanen Isn't the Idea of a swarm master that their minions work as their primary "weapon". Because if so then to me being able to control a lot of minions and being able to use those minions to cause damage would be the main points to keep in mind when judging the quality of a swarm master.
@@theavatarofinsanity Well in the video a difference was made between those who control swarms like military troops and those who wield them as personal weapons.
While I admit it's been a while since I last played "heart of the swarm" IIRC Kerrigan never actually uses Zerg as a waepon in personal combat, only her claws and psychic abilities. She's more of a "general" type swarm master with the swarm being as much her primary weapon as the Raynor's raiders are Jim Raynor's primary weapon.

I just find it funny how Guzma commands both metaphoric AND literal pests; his Bug-type Pokémon and the Team Skull Grunts. That's genius!
Fun fact; each of the Seven Deadly Sins is represented by a different demon. Gluttony is represented by Beelzebub, the Lord of the Flies.

I admire that Castlevania drew its monsters from multiple sources as well. From mythology and folklore, to classic literature and movies, to totally original ideas created specifically for the game itself.
I guess I enjoy a game with a variety.

Another would be one of the cyborgs from Mortal Kombat, if I were to pick one it would be Cyrax.

I know of a couple others. Raiden from Metal Gear Rising, Neyla/Clockla from Sly 2, and either N Gin or Nina Cortex from the Crash series... both have cyborg parts about them with N Gin's missile brain and Nina's extendable arms.
I'm personally hope Aile from the Megaman ZX games is on it for two reasons one she's an awesome character, and two Aile is a Humanoid which according to the lore of the Megaman ZX games is a human who has had his/her body mechanically augmented with Reploid parts basically a cyborg.

Great list! Started with one of the best characters in Sun and Moon and ended with one of my favorite fighters in Smash!
Not going to lie. I truly expected the Queen of Blades to make an appearance on this list, even as an honourable mention.
The Numer One pick really caught me off guard. I was almost 100% sure that the top pick would be either Kerrigan or the Overmind with the Zerg swarm. I would have NEVER thought of Pikmin.
Imagine GV getting a glaive. THAT SHIT WOULD BE GODLIKE! Which makes sense because the first Septima found in nature was GV's electrokinesis

Huehuehuehuuuuueeeee, now those were some nice chills down my spine.
On Stratos, it's also worth noting that he's the only member of the Sumeragi Seven other than Nova to have an instant kill move up his sleeve.
His big super attack Nemesis Fang has him firing off shots from above while the gaping jaws at his sides take in an alarming amount of fruit flies and steadily grow bigger; the idea is that you have to tag the jaws and shock them both enough to stop it. Fail to do so before they reach full size and Stratos disappears, then the jaws sweep off screen for a moment before coming in and grinding Gunvolt up like freaking egg salad. Best part - it's unavoidable, and Lumen can't help you either.
Abaddon was such a pain in the ass in Julius mode.

You should see Guzma in the Sun and Moon anime. His Scizzor took down Ilma's Mega Kangaskahn and humiliated Lana's Primarena in the league arc.

I also like how you managed to technically add a KI character on the list despite bug lady not making it (you can tell I like her since I remembered her name :p)
Now, since we're talking about parasites: don't know if I said it on the original video, but it's a shame you don't play more WoW. The Old Gods from that game could've easily taken number 2 (still would've probably been beaten by WhatsHisName from Chrono Trigger)

I just started watching BowlingOtter play that and damn that's gonna be fun to watch. I've heard much about that ability, and having raised mice myself, seeing someone with the ability to command rodents sounds amazing.

Was about to comment that. Glad someone beat me to it. And also, everyone is a nerd at something. Even a businessman or businesswoman can be a business nerd if you wanna be technical about it. So yeah nobody is safe from such a title, not even you.
I myself grew up around tarantulas and scorpions in my household because my Dad used to breed them. Now he only just sells them. Hell I've even had wild scorpions and wild tarantulas come into my house. I've had an Oklahoma Brown(I live there hence the name I'm using for the tarantula) female in my room and several bark scorpions come into the house during the summer. You always gotta wear shoes around the house at that time of year. My Dad even got stung on the eyelid! His f****** eyelid man! He was just sleeping and then the scorpion fell from the ceiling, onto his face, and when my Dad moved to swat it off, it stung his eyelid.

I gotta say, I did NOT see that number 1 coming. A great suprise to be sure and awesome list. I am a huge fan of bugs even tho half of all bugs is some of the scariest things on this planet.

Expected to see Q-Bee somewhere on the list but then again, she doesn't use her people in combat as much as any of these characters in here. And I most definetelly didn't expect Olimar to be here even though he makes PERFECT sense.

That thing about witch doctors kind of reminds me of those wolf whisperers you talked about in top ten werewolves. Also, there another list you could do. Top ten Demi-humans. Basically, people that can transform into more than merely werewolves.
I think that Marguerite Baker from Resident Evil 7 should have made the list. At least an honorable mention for grossness.

I'm late to this party but I would like to toss out something for your Stratos segment.
That claw attack Stratos does screams an Antlion motif.
Antlions being underground larva (which before Stratos does his attack borrows underground) that attack with their jaws. Only thing missing is a giant cone shaped sandpit for you to fall into.
Might I make a suggestion or two for future countdowns?

Really nice List. I was a bit disappointed with the Kerrigan-Bait, but i see why you didn't include her.
I do hope one day you can include her in some other list, because i wanna hear your oppinion on her.
I'm... shocked that Kerrigan from StarCraft wasn't put on this, or at least the Overmind. Literally they lead an army of xenomorphic aliens literally known as The Zerg Swarm, and they both command numbers far exceeding what could any of these other Swarm Masters can do.
I feel like a good contender for this list is the evolved Zerg Overmind. While on it's own it's not much, but it has a galaxy wide army. You can also say the same about Sarah Kerrigan

I've recently noticed Green Scorpion hasn't done a top 10 fairies in video games yet. I think that's gonna be next (we've used up everything else).
Next list is Top 10 Video Game Cyborgs. Calling it now Raiden is getting on that list. And I'm personally hoping the female cyborg successor to X and Zero Aile from the Megaman: ZX games is on that list.

One honourable mention I would like to give a shout out to.
Zinogre from monster hunter
On the surface, one might think I’m joking. But this wolf like wyvern is one who holds plenty of surprises. At first this beast starts the fight simple like most monsters. Attacking in patterns of strong yet somewhat fast attacks, and maybe a few more acrobatic attacks in there for good measure. But things start to shift when the wolf begins to howl. Summoning swarms of Thunder (or dragon) bugs to come in and fly into his fluffy back.
Using means of some form of control to have them stick around, and even aid him! From here, some extra electrical power gets added to his attacks, including what I can only guess as launching super charged mini swarms of bugs as a projectile attack.
Already the battle is ramping up, but if you let the beast howl some more and gather even more bugs, Zinogre will suddenly be super charged, and ready to truly send you back to base camp, FOR GOOD!
While I haven’t fought the variant in generations to see if this is further improved. But I know monster hunter stories adds an extra layer in this battle. As he is able to not only charge him self, but summon the bugs to fly down in as a large swarm cluster to aid as an ally! An ally physically and elementally capable of being able to battle head on against a Rider and his genetically horrific monstie.
Given some of your other picks, I don’t think Zinogre wouldn’t be to off as at least an honourable mention~
Oh, and as a fun thing, cheeky hunters will be able to farm and extract thunder bugs from Zinogres back when he’s knocked down, also capable of decharging him if they extract enough.
Agatha is so freaking cute despite her unhealthy obsession and I love those gold butterfly wings she uses.
I kind of wish the Overlord was on here, even as an honourable mention. The Goblin like Minions are quite the swarm army.
On the devora calling the bugs she's made of her children think of it like a hive all part of one collective but continuously reproducing to survive.
Dang that fatality. I'm cool with insects but seeing that fatality was really uncomfortable. Interesting list.
