You material is excellent. I am a plaintiff in a civil litigation with a ton of exhibits. It’s my job to make sure my attorney has all the information in a clear to use manner. Your process has helped me organize. Thanks 🙏

I start my Paralegal courses to obtain my certification in Jan of 2022 , I have a bachelors in Criminal Justice, but honestly not sure how Adobe works at all. I'm mostly familiar with Microsoft applications. I've been watching your videos the past few weeks and I'm deff starting to get the drift.

Thank you for taking the time to share this information. I will be starting a position with an insurance defense firm and a big part of the position will be sifting through, organizing and summarizing medical information. This will be immensely helpful.

So happy you like it! I just finished filming this week's video on the assembly line of litigation and how indexing is an excellent form of file management. I worked in insurance defense for years. Good luck with your new position and of course, CONGRATS!

If you have a report of proceedings that is already bates stamped like R001 , R002 etc, but need to remove that in order to put the appendix bates numbering (A0001, A0002, etc.) how would you do that?

    • @ArrowConsultants_MistyMurray

I hope it's not too late to respond to this, but one thing you could do is redact the original bates labeling (if you are unable to "remove" the bates labeling), and replace with your new bates numbering. You can do a mass-redact of the original bates without having to redact each page. However, this would only be required if the "remove" bates labeling feature was unavailable - for instance, if it is not a native document, then "remove" is likely not to be an option. I hope all of this makes sense. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate you!

This is quite helpful. I just graduated as a Paralegal with a background in Accounting. I am trying to build my network and some of the file management tools that I will need to be successful in a heavily document intensive industry. Mentoring will be of great help if you have some tips. I plan to begin at a Legal Clinic and build from there. Thanks again for all your videos and I look forward to hearing back from you.

Congrats on graduating! I had a LOT of files for law firms and it is important to have a solid foundation of efficient document management. I plan to start mentoring again in late October, but may need to push it into November. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate you!

When do you do your bates numbering? At time of production or do you bates medical records as the come in with the provider initials or not bates those at all until production?

Is there a limit to how many pages can be in a pdf i create? I have thousands of pages of medical records that i want to combine into one pdf for production - and then link those documents to my document production index. Would REALLY appreciate your help!!! Thanks 😊

Hi Misty.... any suggestions on batesstamping videos , such as should i use a cover sheet with teh name of the video with the bates listed on the cover sheet and produce with the written responses???

Yes, I did a video recently talking about this very thing. Here is a link: ruclips.net/video/MlIsJuFoqxg/видео.html. When I electronically transmit the document production to opposing counsel, the video file name is the bates number assigned to that video. In my responses, I reference the bates number for the video: "See Plaintiff's document production, Bates No. xxxxxx." Of course, you can get more detailed, but this is just a simple example. You may also need to reference the date and time the video was taken in your response. When I prepare my index of the document production - My first column labeled "Document/File" shows the original video file name, and I have a separate column showing the bates number I assigned to the video file. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate you!
