    Prett nice view you got from your garden. I bet you also can photograph waders from there. 📸🌅

      Yeah, there is a gate at the bottom of the garden which allows us to get out on to the loch.

    Obviously the birds were cooperative. Interesting and informative video. Thanks Nick.

      Thanks very much Susanne. The birds are cooperative to a degree, however like I say at the end of the video, the two P's - patience and perseverance, so I will be for instance sitting on the box waiting for birds to land on the shovel handle for one to two hours at a time. Now I may come without actually pressing the shutter, however a lot of it for me is also about sitting out there, listening to the birds and getting some fresh air.

    Nice set up Nick and some cracking image. You seem to have a good variety of birds coming in - nice to have Greenfinch as they have been on the red alert the last few years. Atb Alan

      @NickHansonPhotography  4 года назад

      Thanks very much Franz. I can’t do landscape videos right now for obvious reasons, so have to adapt. I used to do a fair bit of wildlife photography so it seemed only natural that I do something on that subject 😁

    With two cats at home, I won't try the ground feeder, but I'll keep the other tips in mind. Thanks Nick.

      I completely understand Colin and very responsible of you :). There are two dogs where I live, so the only thing I have to do is remove the ground feeder when I'm not using it for photography, as they like to finish off the seeds.

    Hi Nick, Nice video. I uploaded yesterday a vidoe on a blue tit that was stuck in it's own nesting material. Thank you for sharing your informative video. I shoot with a Tamron 150-600mm in gardens and on a cropped sensor btw.

    • @NickHansonPhotography
      @NickHansonPhotography  4 года назад +1

      Thanks very much Kersten. I just watched your video, you did a great job. Did you get rid of the offending material from the nest so that it doesn't happen again?

    Bird feeders attract rats apparently so how do you combat that?

    • @NickHansonPhotography
      @NickHansonPhotography  4 года назад

      We don't have rat problems here due to our feeders, so for me there is no need to do anything.

      @@NickHansonPhotography as in I heard that people have bird feeders get other rodents coming due to the mess on the ground that is made by the birds eating

    • @NickHansonPhotography
      @NickHansonPhotography  4 года назад

      @@sarahhuggins7217 Yeah, however as far as I know we don't have a rodent problem here, even though there is a 'mess on the ground'. I do believe you can get feeders which have trays underneath to try and limit the mess and is something we may get ourselves at some point as it's still a bit unsightly on the decking.
