That's the way it is with me too on many of his vids. I always focused on the tune first. The message was secondary so I missed the meaning in many of them. Sad Eyes, for example by Robert John. Great tune. The message is telling a woman he's cheating with to wipe her eyes and split because his wife is coming back home.

I had actually confused this song with one by the same name by The Pretenders which was the theme song to a very short-lived TV show I loved back in 1998 called "Cupid". It starred Jeremy Piven in the title role and the lovely Paula Marshall as his therapist. He's convinced he's the actual Greek god kicked out of Olympus for his arrogance, banned until he matches 100 human couples without the use of his powers. Human league came to do "Human" and 2 other songs with Jimmy Jam and Terry Louis in Minneapolis, Mn. This was a big Club in 1986. But Jimmy and Terry only worked with Bell Biv Devoe not all of New Edition.
