I have been watching you forever but rarely write. I was a teen in the 80's so it's been a fun ride with you. What are my parameters for suggesting songs? There's so many massive hits that get huge views you haven't hit yet, but they aren't your typical niche. Ex: Nightwish "Ghost Love Score" Live At Wacken, which is symphonic metal. You'd be blown out of your chair by Floor Jansen's voice. "Pisces" by Jinger Stevie Ray Vaughn playing "Texas Flood" Live at El Macambo is out of your niche but a must see. "Metallica" Enter Sandman" in Moscow '91 with 1.6 million in attendance. Look up other reactor #'s on these as they are always favs.
They referred to this chord sequence as 'WET' and basically yeah... Force MDs Tender Love, New Edition's Can You Stand the Rain, Alexander O'Neal's If You Were Here Tonight and Janet Jackson's Come Back To Me... All WET.
This song and album were produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Janet Jackson's (and several others) producers and co-writers. Their biggest US hit was "Don't You Want Me?", which I am sure you have heard somewhere. It's a classic.
One of my favs from the 80’s. Yep when I first heard this song and she did her talking bit. I was like ouch, she burned him back 😂 The production and vocals are on point. Love it.
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis produced this. Same guys that work with Janet and new edition.. Speaking of Janet please do more of her... especially her 80s stuff
whoa!!! this that banger from the late 1980s - my aunt Yanick who passed on way too soon use to play this album when she picked my siblings and i up for weekends. Jimmy jam & Terry Lewis super producers did this one too - their work needs to be studied 5 🌟's
Can you tell by the melody who produced this jam?? This was a banger. I didn't know til my teenage years when I heard this again, and recognized the melody. Jam and Lewis are geniuses. Running out of words to describe them. Boyz to Men redid this song too
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis wrote and produced this song. There's a video out there where Jimmy Jam is explaining how Terry Lewis had to vocal coach the lead singer into singing in a "normal" manner instead of a robotic sounding voice like he often did on their earlier recordings. Jimmy said Terry had to convince him and coach him to-do so. They created a smash hit which stands up to this very day.
I just now clearly heard in this song the same beat from 'The Finest' by the SOS Band, but I will ALWAYS LOVE this song!! Produced by my favorite dynamic duo Jam & Lewis. Wow, I just found out that Jimmy Jam just turned 64 on 6/6 and Prince would have been 65 on 6/7 and I am 64 today!! The 80s are my favorite music era because we were in our 20s and the party didn't stop. Happy birthday to all of you Geminis🍾🍾♊♊🥳🥳
Absolutely love this song. What's cool about this is that even though this was released in 85-86 it doesn't has that typical 80s, at least for me. It sounds very modern. And this had been on my playlists for a very long time. This song had that somewhat soothing feel about it and I 'd often play it on cool quiet nights just for its 'soothing' and cozy effects, if that make any sense.
This song was a bop back in the 1980s and it's still they also sing don't you want me baby another 80s classic which is featured in the chips ahoy commercial
I am so glad you caught that "Twist". It made that song even more awesome cause most songs its just one sided but in this song they both broke the promise not to see anyone else while they were both were taking a break. Human League had some awesome big hits.
It's because he changed to everyone paying $25 for a request and shout-out vs just choosing from the Patreon or comments. So much better this way and everyone has a chance at requesting. It broadens the requests pool. I love it now
@@MorrisB1971 what I truly enjoy about the Jack Reacts channel is that it centers R&B. While I love many genres of music, there aren’t many YT reactors who focus on R&B. The majority are in a race to 1M subs- and I don’t knock their hustle- but unless you’re Aretha, Marvin, Gladys, Al Green and a few other greats, most R&B acts will be often ignored in the music reaction space which on YT primarily targets Baby Boomer and Gen-X era pop/rock. Frankly, I can’t even see Jack reacting to The Carpenters. 😂
@@MorrisB1971I was born in ‘71 and my first memories of The Carpenters was when I was 6 or 7. It was a routine for the fam to clean the house on Sat and Mama was in charge of the music, playing largely LITE-FM staples. Of course, Karen was part of it. I know how revered The Carpenters are among 70’s artists but respectfully I never took to their music. To be fair, I felt the same way about Olivia Newton John and The Eagles, among others. Anyway, who knows? Jack may surprise me and actually like them. 😊
Jack I’m here. I haven’t been feeling well. This one of my favorite groups from the 80s. Thanks for doing them. Tears for Fears is another 80s group you would like. Shout is one of their best songs. I promise to catch up on what vids I have missed🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾
You say you may have heard this song before. This song came out on Liberty Mutual Insurance years ago. Try out other songs on this album. This is one of my favorite groups of the 80s. I was fortunate to have grown up in this era!
80s musics is the best. No iPhones or Androids to distract you when your listening to good musics. You need to check out the mashup of “ Human League & Madonna - Power of Human “. It’s so good!
The video is the short version. If you add it to your Playlist, it will be longer. Boyz II Men have a song called Human II. It uses this song as the background.
@@BrianNeed-mg6sr Hmm .. I'm not sure Brian, though I have seen quite a few reactions where people are surprised when they see that Rick Astley, for example, is white ...

Whenever Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis produced a song in this key, it was a guaranteed hit in my book 🔥

Love this song. Had much cross-over appeal in the urban markets.
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis produced this. Same guys that work with Janet and new edition.. Speaking of Janet please do more of her... especially her 80s stuff

I just remembered, when you were talking about how it sounded familiar, that the song was used in a commercial for a bank or insurance...
80s songs had great music arrangements and instrumentation

Jimmy jam is an amazing keyboardist! His synth and bass synth playing is innovative!
The Genius of the LEGENDARY Iconic Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis
This song reached #1 in America in October 1986 & reach #3 on the R&B/Hip Hop Chart too!!! It was loved in the suburbs and the hood lol
