Just made a guitar friend and going to start playing with him, I have very little experience doing this so your video was right on time, thanks Cindy.👍😎👍
Have fun! Wish you could post a video. Would love to hear 😀

@@guitarnotions Your welcome
Used to have a group that got together, students young and old mostly guitars but some fiddles. It was pretty cool
That sounds like so much fun. Its great that people playing at every level can enjoy the experience together! Shows great leadership on the part of the group leader too😀
Thank you darling, love from the uk
Thanks for watching!❤️
I have some Facebook friends who use to live out by you. Jill & Kevin McConnell bought two of these guitars
They made a great choice❤️
Great tips! I hope to find people to play with sometime. Meanwhile, I play along to live performances- this way it’s not always like the recoded album versions I have memorized, lol.
Can we talk about capo placement? I still can’t figure out how to know which fret to use and how to transpose the notes. So if a song is half a step down or a full step down, I can’t seem to figure out where to put the capo without guessing. Is there a good resource or rule of thumb to use?
The funny thing is, I use a capo frequently, but only when the tablature or chord chart calls for it because then it’s all figured out for me - but after 4.5 years of playing, I feel silly for not being able to figure it out on my own when I want to make a complex song a bit easier to play or don’t want to retune 1/2 or a full step down. I think I should feel more comfortable rather than guessing and hoping I strike gold, lol! 😂
Thanks!
I will try to create a video on capo placement. Thanks. 😀
@@guitarnotionsmaybe another topic you could talk about and I'm eager to learn your thoughts about is on bridge-saddles and nuts and the material they're made of ... like nylon, tusq or nubone a.o.
I just replaced the saddle to bone and that was an enormous upgrade in sound...
The man in the store told me that saddle-change is more important then the nut, because
the saddle is transporting the sound into the body of your guitar ...
Only played with one person. Loved it.
Its lots of fun😀
I’ve been a worship leader (singer for many years) and have played with some guitar players who “get it” and did a wonderful job and also others who just didn’t get it and would actually be a distraction on the team , so your so right with your comments! But it’s funny, it was always the guitar players that seemed to struggle with it…😮😅
Its nice if you have a person in charge of sound. They can make those adjustments as needed. In-ear monitors are great too. 😀
@@guitarnotions yup… in my experience we’ve tried amps & in ears. Wireless, wires. Sound men/women… Acoustic vs. full band. You name it!!! .
@@cheryldavidson-guitargal1 wow 😳 time to talk to that person (nicely)🤣
Do I have a (true) story for you ...
Recently I had a great jam session with my brother on a hot summer day in our garden ...
He is a professional musician and helps me sometimes with musictheory ...
I handed him one of my guitars which he laid flat on his lap ...
After examining the apparatus for several minutes he asked: "So where are the black and whites on this thing?" 😂
You guessed ... my brother is a very famous Argentine-Tango pianist for a long time ...
He is very proud of me that I learned to play this instrument in the few years I have as I am very proud of him ... but the fun that piano-fingers are different from guitar-fingers ...
We had loads of fun that day ... ❤
I love this story! Sounds like an awesome memory! Thanks for sharing!!❤️
@@guitarnotions I often 'talk' to him on phone or online, but he is always traveling around the world ...
So sadly I do not see him very often ... that makes this 'get-togethers' very special ...
How'd you know to put the capo on 5? sorry if that is a silly question,..
just wondering how to know what fret to capo for what song..
is it to do with the key?
I think I will do a video on using the capo. That's a great question and subject. That's will provide you with a little better answer than I can write. Thanks❤️
used to jam all the time with other players but as I have got older the opportunities just dont arise . Pity .
That is difficult! Too bad there isn't a community jam near by. ❤️
Great tips, thank you! You are renewing my excitement to play and learn new things 🤗🤗
I'm so glad! Thank you❤️
