Thanks for posting this. Possibly the most beautiful moment in a beautiful series. Does anyone else remember the initial opening of Northern Exposure? Not the opening credits - the single lonely scream of a Peregrine Falcon once the screen faded to black? I remember that sound from my youth in Northern Ontario; whenever I hear it it takes me home. I can't go home - but I can hear the falcon.
    Thanks!

    Awesome show from the 90's.
Refreshing characters from today's dracula and zombie trash.

flying cow is our favorite episodes as well. we just finished watching every episode from every season and now we're experiencing Northern Exposure withdrawal pains. Such a cool show.

Sacrilege that the lawyers had to decide to have removed A Whiter Shade of Pale from this memorable scene.

The first time I saw this on TV, I recognized the music (The Blue Danube) from the opening intro, realized they were headed toward a takeoff of the movie "2001" (oh, the heracy!), then fell down laughing for literally five minutes. This was such a good laugh, I still remember it after almost twenty years.

I was really sad to see the end of the "Northern Exposure" series. It was the only TV show that promoted deep development of all its characters. We got to know every one of them very well. I read that there were a lot of complaints that the show was "too intellectual", with not enough "action". I guess those who make decisions about such things concluded that the public wanted only the usual pap that they didn't have to think about much---both during and after viewing. Let's hope for reruns.

I couldn't think.... nothing...... I felt so dumb...... I just sort of stood there mute feeling like an idiot....... I mean I had it made all I had to do is say Merry Christmas and they could have started a conversation with her you know I told her I liked her a four-wheel-drive truck thingy.....a baby in the front seat...... you know ..she would have fallen madly in love with me...... you know most girls do until they realize I'm not going to change therefore I must be evil and destroyed ...... but she could have Been supporting my beer habit until I died...... she seemed like a nice quiet girl ......I heard she's into Indian Affairs ....and I wish her luck........ but if you ever reminiscent looking at films from way back when like this one .....and you run across this....
