    What's most impressive is that when she finally gets back to the surface, she doesn't even seem to be breathing that hard to catch her breath. 🤯

    That's truely impressive! I've seen other divers going down upright and coming up with a balloon filled with air. Swimming down and up look much more difficult. Well done! 👏

      That is a different type of free diving. It is actually more difficult because they go much deeper. The record is almost twice as deep

    • @danielschechter8130

      Actually, you can see her "packing" before the dive. Extreme freedivers use their mouth to force more air into their lungs than a normal inhale can get. This isn't for added oxygen. It's for additional air volume, to use when equalizing their ears at depth. Seriously, though, don't try it without training. You can damage your lungs!

    수심 20m 정도까지 오리발 차고 내려가다 잠시 멈추는건 부력 테스트인데 중성부력 이하이면 자동 입수 가능해서 오리발 안 차도 내려갑니다.
    차후 생각나는거 추가로 댓글 올리죠.

    I liked how they wait the divers to rest and breathe after they get up and not applause immediately. If you were the diver and surrounded with stupid people they won’t let you breathe they jump to you

    • @vasjalesjak3846
      @vasjalesjak3846 Год назад

      I also wondered why they didn't clap immediately. But I saw an interview with her and she explained that it's not just to come out of a dive 'alive'. The judge asks you some questions and do some hand gestures, to see if you are lucid (not too dizzy) from the dive. If you pass the test, then you get a white card and the dive is 'legal'. And that's when they clapped.

      Personally, I wouldn’t want to see that. People would push themselves beyond their limits with the world watching and medals on the line. Like this, where a person is competing by themselves against their own record is dangerous enough. In a competition it would be too dangerous.

    I don't understand the appeal of this "sport". Yes, I get the lure of free diving - absolutely. But going down and down (especially when carried by weights - which in fairness isn't the case here) and just trying to get further down than anyone else - and hoping to Hades you make it back up without brain damage......... Nope. It baffles me.

    Why do they stop kicking / finning on the way down? Wouldn't it go faster if they didn't? Or does it conserve some oxygen?

    • @lilahsmith2160
      @lilahsmith2160 3 года назад +3

      once you go past the buoyancy point, you float down without moving. divers let themselves float down so that they can conserve oxygen and not waste it on using their muscles.
      TL;DR- it doesnt go as fast, but it conserves oxygen
