Incredible indeed bro. Hope to see you in the future diving those depths and representing ph in competitions. Congratulations on your record breaking breath hold. 👏🤙🏽
I once held my breath and swam down 30ft to pick a conch shell up off the floor and when I surfaced i couldn’t believe what I had done and thought I was so lucky to be alive.
Did a similar thing on the barrier reef. Took a breath and went to go have a look at a big ole wooden wheel if I recall. It was deep but by chance I equalised pressure at every stage perfectly and didn't really feel deep I stopped about 20ft from the wheel and looked up at what were very small people on the surface. Fuck says I and I start my assent. I ran out of air about 2/3 of the way up but just stayed calm and did slow upward aiming movements and breached the surface. Has to be said it was a bit of a close call that one.
@@deano2160 same I was in the Bahamas. I was snorkeling and had on big fins and thought I shouldn’t have any problems. I made it down then realized holy shit I better stay calm and focus and just swim fast and i surfaced and thought I was so crazy but I still have that shell! Lol
Can someone please explain to me how they 'freefall'? Humans naturally float, do they not? Whenever I dive I'm always being pulled up toward the surface by the air in my lungs. Sorry if this is a dumb question I've never watched this sport before.

Beyond human. Those light pulls in the end scared the f*ck out of me. I thought he was about to black out. I guess lingering on a bit helped him absorb nitrogen and prevent narcosis. Anyway, incredible preparation, will and mental strenght. It's the mind where he shows what an athlete he is.

Lot of things are happening here. For someone who has never watched anything about freediving prior to this, it is hard to understand. I am full of questions! - Before diving he is "packing". What does that mean? - How come at one point, he is in "freefall"? Why is he not floating? - When he is coming back, in the last 20 meters, i had the feeling he was about to pass out and was catching himself just at the last second to pull. What is that technique and what are the benefits?
I'm not a freediver, or even diver, but I'll try to explain to my best knowledge(should I be mistaken, please anyone correct me) -Before the dive he uses special breathing technique to cram as much air in his lungs as possible -Deeper you go, more the pressure compresses the air in your lungs, causing you to lose buoyancy. -I don't think there's any special [named] technique in the end. He's just trying to work with minuscule amount of air, preserving what's left and trying to reach the surface to best of his ability
Ah yes, he can hold his breath for a very long time. He should join the U.S navy and train to kill people and participate in wars. What an absolutely ludicrous thought process
Yes, 133m would be just at 13 bar or 13kg/square centimeter. The body has some natural responses, though, that help keep blood flow through the heart and lungs called the dive-reflex. Issues start if you dive for long. The blood/air boundary in the lungs can't take the pressure, and you can start to bleed into your lungs.
@@aerostorm_ huh, I just happen to a little while ago have watched some divers (dive talk) say the opposite. something like "feels the same at ten meters as 100" I thought it was neat my question got answered without me researching, but now this haha

When you go deeper your lungs gets "smaller" because of the pressure, which makes you sink easier

How come he doesn’t get the bends? Is it because he’s not expelled any oxygen?
There’s some crazy fact I can’t remember about how small his lungs would contract to because of the air getting compressed
Because he is not breathing from an air tank/regulator, but just holding his breath.
