Congrats, really brought tears to my eyes. One of my biggest fears is the ocean's depths, and seeing you dive through it like that really encourages me to stand up for my dreams.
That was incredible to watch. An amazing achievement. I watched it in bed and realised my feet were mimicking his feet. I'm obsessed with watching free diving as I'm scared of water and can just about swim if I had to. But free diving to these great depths astounds me. And don't get me started on cave diving OMG it's terrifying.
The ambient music that starts as soon as he submerges, the two girls that accompanied him on the last 35m, the synchronised stroke at 4:25... This video was surprisingly meditative.

The amount of views/likes/subscribers on this video/channel is disgusting. This is probably the most remarkable thing I've ever seen with my own two eyes. But the videos that do have millions of likes/views but this doesn't get any attention?? This is a perfect example of what is wrong with the world. Nobody even knows amazing when they see it! Im so sorry buddy. If I could give you a billion views by myself I absolutely would. You are absolutely amazing!
It eliminates the eye damage that can be caused by the extreme pressure at that depth and also the need to equalize a mask. Luckily, they have that line as a guide to keep on course.
Oh, I was reminded in the comments that there are also special contact lenses for deep free diving that act like miniature goggles and prevent the problem of pressure on the air in normal goggles that causes painful and damaging compression upon the eyes at depth.
Can you perhaps share your thoughts on what if any short or long term effects this has on a person’s body? Everything has a cause and effect so I think there may be.

Cameramen only dive to around 1/3 of the announced depth, it's the DivEye drone following the diver to the bottom.
I thought they used hungry great white sharks with GoPros strapped to their heads.
