I really liked playing as Harkonnen for their badass weapons. The Devestator was beast. When I played as the Atreides, a few times one of those rare drops ended up being one.
does this game have a remastered version?, I remmber in 2007 - 2008 playing the exact same game but looked so much better, there was the harkonnen devastator mech and the Blue house had a mech that has an eagle head and whenever they get destroyed they fall apart slowly and you can even send a fixer to fix/steal the mech after it's destroyed.. I can't find this you know what game I'm taking about?

Dune as interpreted here may have licensing issues - the character costumes and overall design take heavy inspiration from the 1984 Dune film, which possibly had to be licensed to EA and Westwood (which no longer exists). The 'blue house with an eagle head mech' might be the Atreides Minotaurus heavy mech from this very game. The feature where an Engineer can capture a destroyed heavy mech or 'husk' can be seen in Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars and its expansion pack, Kanes Wrath! That 3rd instalment came out around 2007-2008, so perhaps you're mixing fond memories of both of these classic games together!
FUN FACT: The Harkonnen Mentat Yanich Kobal is played by Vincent Schiavelli, known for a few recognizable roles, my favorite is him voicing the Pigeon Man in Hey Arnold. RIP mr Schiavelli
Ix Projectors are what worked for me. The illusions disappear after getting hit once, but they deal full damage until then! Fast and/or maneuverable units are best. An endless army of sardukar shooting everything at no cost is quite satisfying.
Is Ordos the canon winners of Dune 2000 due to the cutscene? It would make sense since they try to install a Ghola Emperor in their Campaign. Wipe out the original and replace them with a copy under their control.
I seem to remember the same thing. The problem is that both atreides and ordos outrange you. Combat tanks and devastators are very powerful when they get into short range... but getting into short range is difficult. You have to micro a lot. Or use lots of invine catapults perhaps.
Harkonnen are great for their variety in units. But you can't just spam any one unit. Their most spammable unit is the gunship. But the Harkonnen mixed army is likely to beat the Atreides all Minotaur spam army.
dont know if its an fps thing in win10 but even on easy the game is too hard the enemy has very fast and high production! no fun i always loose! ohwell

Same studio but different games. The mechs you're describing is from this game but the function to send engineers ro recover destroyed mechs is from Command & Conquer 3. It does not have a remastered version, you need DGVoodoo 2 to make it run in 4k.
Remember you can manually target one of your own units to shoot off the leech. Also Buzzsaws are completely immune, they can drive right over the infected and leeches can do nothing to them.
how is it worse? Factions that actually differs from each each other, interesting campaign mechanic with lesser houses and territories, 3d graphics might look outdated nowadays ofc but the overall style is perfect, not to mention 3+ hours of best fucking music made for video games ever
