This guy is just the coolest. He seems so genuine and enthused, and willing to share his excitement and knowledge about all things. His explanation videos about the importance of toe spread and zero drop for balance persuaded me to make my first foray into barefoot shoes (Xero HFS in Claret) and now I’m a total convert and bore everyone to death with it. And now to find he’, like myself, doesn’t like chunky wallets and is willing to share his solution; TOTAL DUDE. Now to attempt this craft project. Thanks Steven!
I made one - and what happened was, the tyvek eventually (after some years) self-destructed -- as in the material became weak as regular paper. Could just tear it like paper. Its tear resistant property was just gone. The underlying mechanism for it (eg. moisture absorption from the air, uv?) - don't know yet. The 'lasts forever' appears to be untrue.
I was just looking to make some of these, I found a old one made and thought the same thing as you, to big too many pockets. I just made 3 leather wallets to help my son doing some fund raising, ubut i have a roll of Tyvec so i could make 1000s of these. Great timeing!
*tip*: Just learned that when measuring out the $$ bills, if you don't have a ruler handy, make sure the depth of the wallet side (dollar longways) is 'two credit cards long'. Thank You!! The first USPS-XERO wallet I made, I gave to a friend who was fascinated by it... and now I've just made one for myself, finally. Ironically, I'm giving that same friend the wallet I've had for the past four years (that I got along with a pair of Luna sandals which I've sense gotten rid of as well, in favor of Xero) The wallet I'm ditching was the bane of my existence. Seemingly minimalist, yet too bulky to fit sleekly into a pocket (It was ok for a while, just like the sandals). And it was black, so I was constantly looking for it, as it blended into the car floor mats and had to be found by hand in any bag. I am so excited about this wallet- form, fashion, function, truly minimalist with a bright look. Back to those sandals... I'm on my fourth pair of Xeros (Cloud! after 3 DIYs) and love them. XERO for life, Xero for my kid, and for all my friends who OOOH and AAAAH at my pleasure gliding around in them anywhere. 💵📩Thanks again!
That's an idea worth researching. It also makes me think of the old 'tin foil hat' gag. (except, without the paranoia.) A nice inside joke in your wallet, cheaper than copyrighted imagery from a television show.
"Totally functional -just got dirty, my wife threw it away." I'd feel 110% better about replacing a paper envelope wallet than replacing a pleather or nylon wallet. Plus, I could doodle on it or take quick notes without having to write on my hand.
I met the Mighty Wallet guy at a trade show. I pulled out my wallet and said, "I was inspired by you to come up with this design." His eyes got VERY wide and he said, "Can I see that?" I said, "Absolutely not." And now, about 10 years later, if he sees this video, he can ;-)
@@xeroshoes I had the Star Trek one which i used and used and used... It was a similar size to this I think as being small was also key to my ambitions. Thanks for the fab instructions on how to make one.... now I'll just have to find something similar to the US mailing envelopes here in the UK... now there's an idea for a free gift for your international customers... I wonder if you could even get Xero Shoe embossed envelopes?? Interesting. Thanks once again! :-)

VERY kind of you to say. Can't wait to see your new wallet ;-)

My family is gonna hate me come Christmas.

Our pleasure! Thanks for the kind words. Have fun with your wallet :-)
I love this. I have (basically) a rubber band.
I did that for a while... until I came up with this design ~10 years ago.
I think you could add tin foil to make it RFID secure
That's an idea worth researching.
It also makes me think of the old 'tin foil hat' gag. (except, without the paranoia.) A nice inside joke in your wallet, cheaper than copyrighted imagery from a television show.
I tried making one out of a mylar bag once (LDS Church has the best), but it did not pass my stringent RFID tests.

I've used mine as a notepad, too :-)
thanks great idea!
It's like one of those mighty wallets!
I love it!
(^0^)/ya!

Wives throwing away wallets is not new.
