Ty - Thanks so muh for your video's. They are so entertaining and educational. I learn alot about Sports Cards and Life . That was such a cool trade for the Star wars lunch box. Have a really good day. Barry
I love the older generation conversations you get into at thrift and antique shops. I mean Everytime I go I learn something new from someone. Good show dudes👍
You would have loved the garage sale I stopped at around 1979. A guy was selling his duplicate sports cards. He had multiple wood card catalog files outside in the yard and driveway that had been used by libraries in the past. There were hundreds of thousands of cards and they were all priced at 1 cent each. No one was buying them as this was during Jimmy Carter's great economic turndown and there was a glut of cards on the market.
Talk about memories ! I grew up in Louisiana and we had a Gibson's as a kid but I thought they all went out of business ! So cool but I wish they had sports cards like that ! They didn't back then, I had to go to the old Seven 11 (Time Saver) and get my cards as a young boy, a pack back then was like 50 cents with the bubble gum. I have been collecting for about 52 years now. I love my cards !
@@CHASINGCARDBOARD Yea - even tho Patrick Williams was a dud. You shot for that stars. They must’ve figured out a way to scan the card thru the box to find out who’s inside - and then sell them at general store in small town America lol This style video was cool because you had no idea what you were walking into each encounter or who/what you might find. Is it as good as the other videos? Probably not. What about browsing Facebook marketplace - finding some interesting lots, and going to see them. Too sketchy?
The last minute convinced me to never, ever ever ever, buy expensive boxes with a single card. PS - no way those guys didn’t buy a whole case and quit opening once they got the hit. Then sale off the rest knowing they’re going to smoke the buyers.
That would not only be wildly unprofitable, it would be extremely dishonest and lame. We don't get many boxes and rarely get a full case as we are a new shop, but we've had plenty of good hits from our customers! Stick to singles, it's what we do the most of.
An original 1977 Star Wars lunchbox w/thermos in nice shape for 2 boxes of ‘89 Griffey-less garbage and $20! Wow. Shop owner got the 💩 end of that deal.
Oh Kansas City BBQ is second to none. Specifically Arthur Bryant’s and Oklahoma Joe’s. Cmon man!!!! Nobody has better BBQ than Midwest, you know how we do.
