    • @610Blackhawk
      @610Blackhawk 2 года назад +3

      @@hi_-bz7wf The only reason it’s the best round is that APHE is **WAY** more powerful in War Thunder than it was in real life. In game, APHE creates a spherical shrapnel pattern around the shell, dealing damage in all directions. In real life, APHE just creates second conical shrapnel pattern in addition to the primary armor spalling shrapnel.
      The British didn’t use APHE rounds because they decided it wasn’t worth the cost, effort, and potential reliability issues (apparently in their testing, APHE rounds had a tendency to detonate on impact instead of after penetration) that would come with APHE when the gain from it was only marginal.

    Personally i dont have problems with first shot against stabilised tanks since when im in a area where i suspect there is a tank or is a usual hotspot i just slow down to a constant speed (most of the time 20km/h) in which the gun is almost perfectly stable the only thing you have to watch out for is terrain if its uneven/ allot of little bumps it doesnt work well
    But the idea still stands constant speed ( i have seen it work at near max on the VK 3001M) results in a stable gun, doesnt mean a stabiliser is useless it just means there is a way for unstabilised tanks to have the similar effect
    combine this with tank wiggling means your avrg pub isnt likely to kill you but a person with some skill/ someone catching you off guard is still a threat
    Thank you for reading my assay and my coping with non stabilised german tanks

    Even the standard tech tree Japanese tanks that get the Type 4 Kou shell have a very satisfying punch to them, it's great fun - I'm a big fan of the Chi-Ri II and its tray-style ready rack, you can get some incredible kills with how fast those first couple of rounds get loaded. I'd be interested to see what you think of the original, premium AMX-30 though Spooks - the one at 7.7 with the .50cal instead of the 20mm cannon from the 1972 upgrade; a lot of people seem to forget that for all their autoloading, oscillating-turret designs in the late 40s through to the late 50s, the French did eventually adopt a conventional-turret, manual-loaded main battle tank like most other countries. Even without a stabiliser and only the Obus G HEAT round at 7.7, I've found it quite a bit of fun so far myself - and there seems to be very few people who even bother getting or playing it, which is unfortunate imo.

    If you like the Chi-Nu, I would also recommend the Strv M/42 DT in the Swedish tree. Basically take this thing’s gun, give it a 3 second reload, and make it stupid fast.

      @@myopickid4180 Meh, when you've got a 4 sec reload, you only need to get the gunner, after that you can quickly mop up. It's the first shot that matters.

    Honestly the most shocking thing about this video to me is the use of the Chinese soundtrack instead of the usual USA one, its a nice bit of flavouring for it.
    Cant wait to hear the GLA soundtrack for Russian or Israeli vehicles)))

    I bought this thing during the sale because I didnt have any rank 3-above japanese premium tanks yet. I have to agree, the thing is realy realy fun and very effective. I think the big selling point is the shell velocity which makes aiming at range fairly easy.

    Rank 3 before you get any of the chi ri's is just pure suffering. Your only saving grace against the panzer 4s and other shit that completely out rank you is the m24 and even that runs into trouble sometimes.

    War Thunder driver's ed is a great idea, you should definitely follow up on that. The amount of times I've had a perfect shot lined up, only for a teammate to ram into me and not only ruin my shot, but often expose my side to the enemy, is absurd

    I love Japan Low tier. Such weird looking tanks as compared to others. Like a lot of the tanks look function over form. Such as the tank that is just a giant 120mm naval cannon.
