I was once messing aroudn in an m22 at like... 5.7, and this poor fucker in a Chi-ri II bounced his shot and I could frontally pen him with my little 37mm like bruh I felt bad. honestly whenever I kill a japanese player I just feel bad.

I've tried the Jap tree and I have to say that upon starting out, your best bet is to get the two AA tanks first alongside the wide floaty boi as soon as possible. Heat rounds are okay but definitely not the most reliable, especially when only 48mms or less of pen is your second option
I’d love this thing a lot more if it weren’t for the weird uncapped AP shells that have weird problems with angled armor, and the 4.3 BR desert where it has no lineup or purpose other than to play second fiddle to the Chi-To’s.
@@derkaiser9881 yup, the KO is another amazing premium to get and on par with the Chi-Nu II. One of the few planes that if you die in it, it's more likely than not entirely your fault. People love to try and turn fight it

You should totally make a Driver’s Ed video for War Thunder. It would definitely be funny, and some people could really use it! Also, the one tank I’m scare of when using Japanese tanks is also the Sherman.

@@Haaton-of-the-Basement honestly pretty common for the Japanese tree. The Yuudachi was once 4.0, now it's 4.7 because it's stupidly good. I've got almost a 4:1 K/D ratio in it because it's still stupid how good it is even at 4.7.
I forget if you’ve made a video on it before, but the Boarhound is still a lot of fun. 6pdr APHE is bonkers, and it’s a shame (or maybe a blessing) that only two vehicles get it. I’m pretty sure that the only two vehicles that get the 6pdr APHE round are the Boarhound and the Su-57 half track.
I remember how before the traction update, the Boarhoud would climb any angled slope you'd give it with no problem. I haven't played it in years, but that was my favorite thing about it

In game, APHE creates a spherical shrapnel pattern around the shell, dealing damage in all directions. In real life, APHE just creates second conical shrapnel pattern in addition to the primary armor spalling shrapnel. The British didn’t use APHE rounds because they decided it wasn’t worth the cost, effort, and potential reliability issues (apparently in their testing, APHE rounds had a tendency to detonate on impact instead of after penetration) that would come with APHE when the gain from it was only marginal.
2:16 the bright colours actually help the camouflage. They break up silhouette while also taking advantage of human psychology and that our eyes are adapted too seeing more natural darker colours and so you are less likely to notice something with brighter colours

I got the Chi-Nu II with warbonds before I started playing Japan...it has been one of the best tanks I have ever gotten for "free" and helped me research all the way thru tier 4 in the Japanese ground tree. I love almost everything about it (turret traverse rate being the glaring issue, as it is on most Japanese WWII era tanks). But yeah, that gun just pops everything it looks at.
YAY JAPAN!! The Chi-Nu II is such a solid tank. The small size lets you get into tight places, the gun has lots of TNT filler and if you know where to aim can be devistating! Such a fun tank to play, among so many others! So glad you could show it off!
The Chi-Ri is very good too, one of my favorite Japanese tank, the 3 round autoloader is so unknown to other player that you can get many easy kills on players who don't know the tank

A vehicle that I would suggest (since it is quite similar to the Chi Nu II) is the STRV DT which is packing nearly double the explosive filler (110g) with a 4 round magazine. It's pretty flexible and one shots basically anything you face if you pen. It's my most played tank and it's a LOT of fun

I used to bring the Chi-Nu II up in BR with Type 75 SPH as i didnt have a great lineup. Chi nu carried me through lots of battles working as a side shot wonder
I very happily use this thing at 4.7 with the Chi-To and Chi-To Late. That gun is magical, and if you can stay relatively out of sight, you'll dominate. Hell, even the armor on the turret can be trolly sometimes. I know I've hit that area around the breach on Japanese tanks before, and I'm telling you, it just disappears for no reason because of those overlapping plates.
Japan is one of the most underated nations in general Some of my personal favourites are all the tanks that use the 75mm type 2 gun (except the Chi-Ri II that thing blows), the Ho-Ro, the Chi-Ha LG, the Type 60 SPRG, the STA-3, the Type 61, the Type 89, the Type 75 SPH and the Type 87 RCV. I'd love to see you play some of these if you haven't!
I do like the addition of the thematic background music, reminds me of your old Montage videos (still some of my favorite videos!), usually the videos are a tad bit quiet when you arent talking, Music really helps fill in those small gaps, keep doing the good work!

I remember when this thing was 3.7, I was really big into SRE at the time, which is just 8v8 squadron battles 1 life for those that don’t know. Some of these and a Churchill or two made the team unbeatable
I absolutely love this tank. The gun is viable up to like 5.7 6.0 and beyond if you aim well. And the accuracy makes it great for relaxing back and picking off targets at range. I've actually shot down a Lancaster with the main gun on this tank from probably 2kms out. It was the highlight of my year.
Personally i dont have problems with first shot against stabilised tanks since when im in a area where i suspect there is a tank or is a usual hotspot i just slow down to a constant speed (most of the time 20km/h) in which the gun is almost perfectly stable the only thing you have to watch out for is terrain if its uneven/ allot of little bumps it doesnt work well But the idea still stands constant speed ( i have seen it work at near max on the VK 3001M) results in a stable gun, doesnt mean a stabiliser is useless it just means there is a way for unstabilised tanks to have the similar effect combine this with tank wiggling means your avrg pub isnt likely to kill you but a person with some skill/ someone catching you off guard is still a threat Thank you for reading my assay and my coping with non stabilised german tanks
Even the standard tech tree Japanese tanks that get the Type 4 Kou shell have a very satisfying punch to them, it's great fun - I'm a big fan of the Chi-Ri II and its tray-style ready rack, you can get some incredible kills with how fast those first couple of rounds get loaded. I'd be interested to see what you think of the original, premium AMX-30 though Spooks - the one at 7.7 with the .50cal instead of the 20mm cannon from the 1972 upgrade; a lot of people seem to forget that for all their autoloading, oscillating-turret designs in the late 40s through to the late 50s, the French did eventually adopt a conventional-turret, manual-loaded main battle tank like most other countries. Even without a stabiliser and only the Obus G HEAT round at 7.7, I've found it quite a bit of fun so far myself - and there seems to be very few people who even bother getting or playing it, which is unfortunate imo.
If you like the Chi-Nu, I would also recommend the Strv M/42 DT in the Swedish tree. Basically take this thing’s gun, give it a 3 second reload, and make it stupid fast.

Honestly the most shocking thing about this video to me is the use of the Chinese soundtrack instead of the usual USA one, its a nice bit of flavouring for it. Cant wait to hear the GLA soundtrack for Russian or Israeli vehicles)))
I bought this thing during the sale because I didnt have any rank 3-above japanese premium tanks yet. I have to agree, the thing is realy realy fun and very effective. I think the big selling point is the shell velocity which makes aiming at range fairly easy.
Rank 3 before you get any of the chi ri's is just pure suffering. Your only saving grace against the panzer 4s and other shit that completely out rank you is the m24 and even that runs into trouble sometimes.
War Thunder driver's ed is a great idea, you should definitely follow up on that. The amount of times I've had a perfect shot lined up, only for a teammate to ram into me and not only ruin my shot, but often expose my side to the enemy, is absurd
I love Japan Low tier. Such weird looking tanks as compared to others. Like a lot of the tanks look function over form. Such as the tank that is just a giant 120mm naval cannon.

I honestly prefer this over the Chi-To. I like the smaller profile and faster turret traverse.
The trash sloped performance of the gun has led to a lot of frustrating moments where it would ping off the front of Shermans and T-34s.
after fighting the Chi-Nu before, i never transitioned from low tier to 5.7 and 6.0 so quickly, it's crazy

ST-A 3 is some of the more underrated tanks in Japanese tree aswell, 6 sec auto-loader + HEAT-FS at 6.7 with good optic is a bonker !

The Chi-To Final is a very fun tank to play, some people forget that its front is 75mm sloped so you can actually bounce quite alot.

I bought this thing during the sale because I didnt have any rank 3-above japanese premium tanks yet. I have to agree, the thing is realy realy fun and very effective. I think the big selling point is the shell velocity which makes aiming at range fairly easy.

War Thunder driver's ed is a great idea, you should definitely follow up on that. The amount of times I've had a perfect shot lined up, only for a teammate to ram into me and not only ruin my shot, but often expose my side to the enemy, is absurd

I love Japan Low tier. Such weird looking tanks as compared to others. Like a lot of the tanks look function over form. Such as the tank that is just a giant 120mm naval cannon.
