The way they BULLIED Eugena that cycle is wild. The girl was just being neutral and the pannel would always take offense at the fact that she did not bite at their attempts to trigger her every single time. Props to her for keeping her cool and not breaking down for entertainment purposes
my guess is because Eugena reminds Tyra of Naomi with the looks. That's why Tyra often bully her

I liked this shoot. I would've done it without the contact lenses because some of them were over the top like Anchal's, but this was cool.

@@hoaxheaux She was so cool. I loved that she spoke her mind. Even that comment to Nigel about having a pole stuck up his arse...it was just banter, but she was bullied for it. A sense of humor is a wonderful thing to have. I hope antm didn't kill her spark. She was so gorgeous inside and out ❤️

I'm still waiting for the video "Why ANTM photos cannot be used in a model's portfolio" 😅 Or maybe I missed it? Everyone keeps saying how models can't use these pictures, and I think they're interesting and creative? Help
I think it’s because so many are outside the norm of what people expect of a model.
my guess is that the portfolio should show the model like a clean canvass, so that clients can see if she would fit what they are looking for. so less costume, less make-up. just neat poses. i don't know, im not a model. just my guess.

From some of the interviews I listened to mainly because they are easy to recognize from the show and a lot of people didn’t want to work with them cause of being on reality tv, also all the photoshopping
i think the photos are tooo creative. to have a well rounded portfolio they need some simple photoshoots to show i’m guessing.

Sorry but I kind of liked these photos 🤷♀️. Yes, models need some photos without lots of makeup and not such an unusual concept for their portfolio but I feel like some photographers really like to lean in to the more unusual or strange and that’s not a bad thing.
I personally think that although these photos aren’t and will never be usable for a model’s portfolio, I still found the concept interesting enough since it gave off vampire vibes. So I was able to see the good in it personally
Also I was wondering if you were still going to do that video of why these ANTM photos wouldn’t be good for a model’s portfolio in real life?

I honestly hated when Tyra became "photographer" she just always wanted attention. She also lacked manners tbh.
She literally always does black & white or sepia photos. I feel like this concept really would have done better in color.
Okay I have to completely disagree, I thought these black and white photos were cool as hell. I found the edgy demonic look to be so badass. Especially with Caridee's and Michele's picture. Michele's looked really natural and earthy to me actually. Her's was an example of the contacts not being needed really? Now I don't work in photography or fashion, my background is in mainly in comics and game design so maybe that's why I think they look so cool 😁.
I'm so glad Eugena ( one of my favorites girls in the Show) has a REAL career after what she been throught and the judges protrayed her

It doesn't always have to be ethereal and pretty. Sometimes it's nice to do different and experimental things. It seems like everyone is afraid of doing ridiculous and funny things these days.
Despite this photo being instantly left out of a model's portfolio, Caridee ate it up so hard. It's haunting but really showed how strong she is.

This concept for a photoshoot really isn't that bad to me. While it may not be usuable in a model's portfolio, I could see this working as a horror movie poster, a theme park attraction poster, or even an alternative music album cover.
Edit: One thing I've noticed Jessica is that you often seem put off by darker, scarier, more edgy concepts. I understand it not being your preference, but you're coming off more ignorant and closed-minded here, and trying to make it seem like something terrible at the sole fault of the show. ANTM isn't great, by any means, and I'm not trying to be rude, but it's a little annoying.
If Eugena was doing all what the judges were saying, this show's editing is definitely not in their favor. Like SHOW THE PROOF!
Art is subjective; I love and excel with dark/horror/gore themed shoots. You're extreme negative feedback is insulting to this genre. You're allowed to dislike but make sure to keep an open mind for those who do love this.
I am glad I'm not the only one in the comments who absolutely loves these pics. I always asked my mum to take pics like that of me when I was a teen. LOVE the evil concept XD
I find it a bit sad that you think girls wouldn't want to look like the photoshoot. Not everyone wants to look 'pretty and girly' some girls love to look like demons and still look beautiful doing it. Its a shame

Love this concept! Very out of the typical pretty or elegant model look. It shows range to me. Idk if it's not portfolio material, to Jessica it's obviously a no... I think it's pretty interesting.
I understand you're criticism of this shoot in terms of being usable in a models book, but I don't think the concept is bad altogether. If this was just for fun artistic portraits this could be just a really cool shoot to do. Wouldn't mind having a photo of me like this in my home
I am almost convinced that accusations they made against Eugenia especially Tyra has a lot to do with the fact that Eugenia looks very similar to Naomi Campbell. If you watch this entire cycle you will notice that Tyra constantly would pick on her and scold her.

Idk I liked the concept a lot especially Caridee! That’s such an iconic photo too. Most of their photos though so many good ones out there, wouldn’t be used but it’s a reality show that’s what you get what did u expect.

This show made me feel like i had an “unlikable” personality growing up because i was quiet and didn’t show emotion in a big loud way, which seemed to be what the judges liked. I watched this show for so many years and loved the photography and a lot of the girls and never realized how I was negatively being affected
Idk Jessica I have to disagree with you on this one. She's going for a certain look. They could definitely use pictures like these in their model book. It's edgy.

They really have some crappy and mean comments this episode. And I adore Eugenia. She should have been in the top 2. The weirdo contacts plus the messy hair, the raccoon make up, plus the pulled down tube tops. They spent no effort in set or direction. And Tyra definitely couldn’t hold up that camera. Why the huge lens?!
Eugena's interview with Oliver Twixt was so enlightening. She was truly bullied by Tyra from the start, and she still has a scar from tumbling off their stupid wobbly runway over a swimming pool.

I’m not gonna lie I actually like these pictures. I wish they didn’t have the contacts to make it look demonic for no reason but I do like the dark vibes.
I do actually think Tyra's direction while being the "photographer" on the various seasons of this show WAS usually helpful to the models. I'm just not sure if it was really HER advice or if she was told to say it...
She does understand the whole "tension" needed for some of these more dynamic photoshoots better than the models do sometimes.

Actually they can pulled out this concept BECAUSE they're were pretty. They're don't have to be PRETTIER in the picture cuz they're already is... it's common for pretty people doing odd stuff, their beauty would make the odd less uncomfortable than it supposed to be
This is interesting. Eugena and CariDee are great friends until now and CariDee is a super sweet bubbly girl and Eugena got the opposite edit and they are very close. I believe Tyra gave Eugena "her perception of who Naomi Campbell is" in the editing because to me that is what she does to every black girl on the show that ressembles Naomi in anyway. Tyra, get over Naomi baby girl, like I said in my previous comment, YOU ARE NO VICTIM TYRA

1- Camille- has confidence and is very proud, beautiful female like Naomi
2- Kelle- most bullied, gorgeous girl, gets the weak edit, the horrible model edit and is bullied all the way through
3- Kenya- Has confidence even if she gave a bit of attitude, same edit, plus gets bullied for suposedly gaining weight
4- Aminat- bullied for horrible pictures and not knowing how to model
5- Eugena-
6-Bianca- self confident maybe a bit of attitude (no ones perfect)- bad girl of the cycle edit
7- Fatima- she doesnt follow direction, doesnt listen to authority figure and comes across as arrogant
8- Nikeisha- doesnt listen, rude, made fun for being too skinny (again another about weight too)
9- Hadasa- given a very similar edit to Eugena

Important to mention that Aminat cycle 12 mentioned in an interview with Oliver Twixt on youtube that she felt ANTM gave the villain edit always to black girls because Natalie (white girl) had very inappropiate behavior against the models in the house plus insulted the judges when she was eliminated but that was NEVER aired and she got a different editing than who she supposedly was, talking about the girl experiences w her

I love your channel, but it bugs me that you seem to have 0 appreciation for the darker aspects of life. You act disgusted by the gothic esthetic and anything dark/edgy. As a lifelong goth, i dont get the narrow perspective you show on spooky stuff.
I will NEVER tire of watching you review these episodes!! Your opinion on this show has been my absolute favorite for years now!

I like this concept, and although more average photos are better for the base of a portfolio, it's good for a portfolio if some photos are daring. You can't fill a full portfolio with it, but 1 to 3 daring photos can complete a portfolio.
I love these pictures, so beautiful. I can see why ther aren't ideal for their portfolio but they're stunning. Reminds me of the Victoria Francis art I had in my bedroom as a teen.

I’m not a model or photographer…but I understand why these photos wouldn’t be usable in a portfolio. What I don’t know is why you said their agency would be mad? When a model takes a job don’t they know the details of that job? Like wouldn’t they know it will be scary, they will be wearing contacts, etc.? What about this would make an agency mad? Love you!
Hmm... It could be many things and I give my penny for the answer.
Agencies tend to like clear pictures that show how well you could sell items etc and beauty shots can be a bit harder to sell because they are uncommon in the industry perhaps? I loved the consept of the shoot but cheap contact lenses and editing on some of the pictures made it look very amatourish. It's agency's name on the line too so this wouldn't cut the mustard.

Eugenia Washington is one of the BEST models to ever be on ANTM, and one of the most naturally gorgeous. There is ZERO chance those stank pictures they chose every single week were her "best shot"...
As a metalhead myself, I’d love to have pictures like these of myself hanging in my apartment :D Or better yet, on social media :D
I think these photos would make amazing artwork for bands like Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, etc. The girls with this kind of styling would definitely rock in their music videos and promo materials. Maybe without the contact lenses, though-some looked fine, but others had weird shapes that didn’t really fit. Overall, the photoshoot is a great idea for a very specific occasion or target audience.
