In the latest Create versions, you can just click on two different blocks with superglue to glue the whole cuboid encased with those blocks as corners, so you don't need to off-hand it all the time. And as such, placing anything else within there after gluing the whole cube glues it by default.

Love seeing Mumbo in the Create mod again, it's so much fun! I know you're not really the type for a "Let's Play" style series, but I would 100% watch a Create Mod Let's Play by Mumbo.
He should join the create mod SMP with keralis, scar, zedaph, and tango and of course bdubs of which I could most certainly not forget especially after I edited this message
It's super fun seeing you mess around with the Create mod again! Also, they've changed how glue works in the mod. You don't put the glue between every block, you just select your finished contraption with it and all the blocks within the bounds are glued to their neighboring blocks.
I know right? It seems a little like a video made by this one person who makes easy building and redstone tutorials to get you started on becoming a pro builder... But I don't remember their name 💀
For the bed contraption, why don’t you move the room not the bed. You’d get the perfect look for the project, angle permitting, And the weirdest building.
Mumbo is one of those few youtubers who can brighten up my day simply by uploading. He never looses his charm and always manages to make me and many others happier, even at our darkest moments. I wish him very well!
Love to see some more create, that mod is just phenominal. This mod is riddled with genius design ideas for quality of life. A few pointers: - If you hold the glue in your main hand, you can use it to draw bounding boxed that glue together everything inside. - The sequenced gearshift can (as the name implies) do multiple precise rotations in a row. notably, it can wait for a redstone pulse before doing the next rotation, so you can have a door that opens and closes using just the sequenced gearshift, no need for the normal gearshift and any of the circutry around that. - Wireless redstone is amazing and dont forget that the controller exists: a perfect key for your secret machines. And finally a build idea; wouldn't it be cool of the middle of the vault door spins as it unlocks before opening, and spins again when it closes. Love the content, great to have you back!
that vault door idea is amazing, the only create mod vids ive watched are the hermits, and Zedaph's spinning cube room is a great example of how you could achieve that.
I was going to mention the glue tip too, but at 8:32 you can see the bounding boxes, meaning he figured it out. That said, he didn't need that bit of glue holding it to the bearing - the bearing sticks on its own.
I build something similar to your Build Idea some time ago. But in Addition to the rods rotating they first retracted out of the walls surrounding the door. It's basically just an independent mechanism inside the door, that connects to an external engine, when the door is closed. The tricky part is glueing the things in a way, that the internal parts can still move but don't get left behind when the door opens. The rest is just some timed redstone. Was a fun project but the door was pretty massive to fit all that inside without too much showing ;) Edit: found some Screenshots of the door, and i was slightly misremembering. The retracting Rods are not the ones rotating. So there's a rotating cross and at the same time 4 retracting rods. Making the same Rods retract and then rotate would be even more complex, i assume.
In the newer versions of create glue was made much easier and less confusing to use to use, you can just click a block and select the region you want to glue together
This! It's kinda painful to see the contraptions failing to assemble properly several times in a row because it was made the old way with glue in offhand
Mumbo, you should talk to the other hermits about this mod: a few of them (Tango, Zedaph, Keralis, BDubs, and Scar) are doing a modded SMP focused around the latest version of Create, and I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy what they have going on over there. They'd probably even be happy to drag you into the server to share in the fun!
I love this series so much, and I really wish more Hermits were part of it. Xisuma, Etho, Mumbo, and Iskall have all played Create at some point, but I really think even the less technical hermits would have so much fun with it, just like Bdubs, Keralis, and Scar are doing. The big reason they don't do modded is to stick to what's accessible to most of the viewers, but as long as you have java Minecraft and know how to install mods, the ponder tutorials really make Create nearly as accessible as vanilla.
@@thecamillarose9806 idk, he'd probably be blown away by Tango's factory, or Keralis'(?) swing, or the freaking trains. Don't get me started on Zedaph's Floppivator...
For a different way to do the bed one, there's a magic mod called Hex Casting which has some unusual unintended Create interactions. With it, you could have the bed directly on the bearing, set it to be always a contraption, and then teleport the bed contraption into place and twist it remotely because the bearing still thinks the bed's attached
What makes Create Mod so much more rewarding than vanilla Minecraft is that so many of the mechanics are operated in-game, rather than in some menu interface. That’s the primary reason many vanilla mechanics are so boring, like villager trading, or brewing, is because they remove you from the game and just stick you in an interface.
It's vids like this that make me think Mumbo would have a great time on the Create server some of the Hermits have going on. Like, I know he doesn't usually do mods lately, but he seems to love Create and it'd be fun to see him collaboratin' (or even just as a guest appearance haha)
Just so you know mumbo, you can set the sequenced gearshfts do do the whole operation without needing the basic gearshift at all. you can switch the "End" step to something else; a time delay or simply to wait for another redstone pulse. then you can direct it to do the opposite of the first step! Keep it up man! I'm excited to see what you can do with this mod!
I would watch a create mod survival with mumbo, even if it was just single player. The Idea of seeing a field unfold and have a structure rise out of it, or bringing able to move farms in and out of spawn chunks is a crazy thought
I would love to see him in the Create Mod series that Tango, Zedaph, Keralis, Bdubs, and Scar are currently playing. It also needs other Hermits who are more technical and redstone players.
What would be a cool idea for the bed thing would be to do a fake floor with pistons underneath the bed, so it looks normal until you trigger it. You could use pistons to pull the blocks under the bed away and then tilt the bed up to expose the secret entrance :)
I think it would be amazing to have a Hermit season with create mod even if it was a mini one . I'd love to see all the different directions everyone would take it.
A Hermit season would definitely be interesting! Though if you're curious - a few Hermits are doing a Create series! Zedaph, Tango, Bdubs, Keralis, and Scar have been making videos together about it.
if you have any other mods installed that mess with rendering (something that adds shaders like optifine) that is likely the cause of the strange lighting on the objects that are being moved (the bed going dark). Create does not play extremely well with these, though I think there are settings you can adjust if you really want to use them both together. Good to see you playing with Create again!
Create mod is so fun! I love how blocks outside of the grid go all shadowy like that sometimes when they go through other blocks, it kind of makes sense to highlight that they're less physical in that state!
the reason is that the moving blocks are a giant entity, and if an entity intersects the ground, it goes dark because no light reaches the bottom of the hitbox
Fun fact, this "dark" shade on rotated block and mostly bed is limitation of Minecraft graphics engine when dealing with non-standard rotations. Exact same thing happened with me trying to run Diagonal Fences mod, because they also had this shade near the corners with specific shape combination.
For sequenced gearshifts I heard you had a complicated system for the vault. There is an arrow to reverse the direction on the side of the menu and you can make it do an "await" where on next redstone signal it will do the next action.
In the newest version of Create, you can superglue large areas without having to use your offhand, you just select the area you want to glue together by left clicking.
Really cool video idea! With the new features in 1.20 (display blocks) those things would theoratically even be possible in vanilla, id love to see someone make this!
There are many things that you either did wrong or did in the traditional way (when there are new create features that make it simpler) Observe: 1) There is a pulse extender block that can be edited to last into the minutes 2) You don't have to offhand the glue, you just hold it and right click to create an area of glue (This would have made your initial idea for the bed mechanism work) There are a lot more things but this comment would be too long if I listed them all, just start browsing through the create menu and test out how shit works. The in-menu tutorials are (mostly) great for this.
Very happy your still posting, you and grian were apart of my childhood, and I still watch your guys content! I know you probably won’t see this, but you should make a mini series where everyone picks 1 mod to be added! Been requesting this for about a year!
if you want to try to recreate the bed one again without it going dark and having it hinge on the edge of the block like it does on the thumbnail then you should try rotating the entire room around the bed. that way it pivots without anything being visible, no block jank like you had, and no bed going dark when you get close (if you're worried about the bed being off of the ground you might be able to try using the mechanical piston to push the room up by a certain amount using the manual crank.)
I'm so happy that this was about create, like sure it would've been super impressive if by some really cool intricate redstone machine he made the effect but since it's create it's something I can actually understand fully and use potentionally, great video!
Great job, however you can "program" the sequenced gearshifts to make them go back and fourth with multiple powerings. Also there are some cool new redstone components, I reccomend you ponder them.
That graphical bug at the end might have been solvable by tweaking flywheel, Create's custom render pipeline. Using the /flywheel command you can change how it behaves and maybe a combination of settings could've made the bed work well

oui c'est 6:13 c'est plus "satisfying" excse mon francais, je suis suedoois!
Nan t'inquiète ton français est bien 👍
3:03 “And I think we now how one click bait thumbnail ready to go”
I would love seeing a hermitcraft style videos of the hermits playing with this mod
It's really entertaining to see mumbo not understand how glue changed
So happy that Mumbo is uploading again. Anyone else interested in the possibility of him making a second channel for biking?
The pain in his voice as he says "extremely... happy with this"
Mumbo is too pure he feels bad for making a click bait thumbnail that I didn’t even notice
"this is a silly goofy video and I'm just having a silly goofy time." Makes me smile so widely
A 'I make your silly create mod ideas' would be a fun video.
Does anyone remember his old schedule where the only day he didn't upload was Monday? I'm happy he switched from that.
Yes, it's been so long! I don't play a lot of Minecraft anymore, but seeing your create videos always give me inspiration to make a new world and do some create survival. This was fun to watch!
Mumbo! So happy to see you just having fun with Minecraft again! Over the pandemic I got really Into your channel and watched all your stuff and hermitcraft, as well as got the hermitcraft world download. It was awesome to get to play in your actual base and see how much fun you had with it.
I saw this thumbnail, and thought Mumbo had lost the plot, thank goodness I’m wrong.
I was expecting some sort of perspective shenanigans here, but this was cool too.
Yes Mumbo finally playing Create!!
Nice to see that you are once again enjoying creating your videos. Though it still looks like I don't understand anything as if I'm watching and listening to a alien mechanical guide but I still enjoy for reason.
i am really happy to see those weird thumbnails actually being a thing
Mumbo really made the clickbait thumbnails real
The cherry on top of these builds would be some signs everywhere saying “NO MODS!” That would complete the click bait thumbnails perfectly!
