Good luck making it a smoother ride, them springs in front are really stiff. When I brought new springs for mine, I ordered the 3 leaf, my front end is tight, but its still a rough ride. Im thinking about the only way to have smoother ride is to have the radius arm suspension........????
So it's been several months; any status updates? How well is the kit holding up? I've heard that 4x4 conversions can cause stability issues at highway speeds; have you encountered anything like this?
The kit is holding up well. I do have some vibrations at highway speed but I think it's due to the wheel bearings possibly being bad. Haven't had alot of free time to do more work and money is also a slow down.
I have subscribed to keep up with this build. I have strongly considered doing this as means of a cheaper alternative to getting a 4x4 dump truck. I want a dump truck so bad but finding a 4x4 truck let alone a 4x4 DUMP truck can be difficult at a decent price. I have seen decent OBS fords for sale cheap though and actually know a guy that currently has a 92 for sale but it is 2wd. I might could get by with 2wd but I would much rather have 4x4. I also might use such a truck for snow plowing so having 4x4 would be really nice. doing a swap on these older trucks seems fairly easy but yet somewhat complicated lol. I'm not the most mechanically savvy person anyhow. i understand operation and reason, but doing the work and such to change things i dont know much about. would lifting a truck in such a way as what you have hurt performance if used as a dump truck?
@@ericmartinez6692 so far 800 for axle. About 800 for bracket kit to mount axle. Another 300 or so in misc parts for steering and suspension. Still have to do t case, new drive shafts and shift linkage

Yea leaf springs are always rough, 4 link with coilovers or something like that would make it way smoother
How much to do this to a f-350 1999 7.3 L ?
How much has this whole 4x4 swap cost?

Put a 350 sway bar on it takes care of the stability issue
What company was it
What size lift did you go with? Did you do a before and after lift measurement?
6 inch

I wouldn't think so. Both my trucks are fully functional. I have 2 40 ft 5th wheels I tow.
Diesel Guy what year is the front axle?
I agree with you but because any 20+ year old 4x4 dually either has trashed diffs or ridiculously rusted out frame anyway
How much would it cost to have someone do this for me?
I think it would just depend on the shop or person
Whats the estimate on the 4wd conversion?
What do you mean?
@@dieselguy9950 cost-wise

@@dieselguy9950 thank you sir.
What company did you use for the box kit
Sky manufacturing, but there are other companies
