@@sugarsore it depends! Some people do like fostering the same as charity work, some do it for free, and then some like myself go to school to get certification and training to do it 24/7 full time! For example I do animal rehabilitation & rescue where I get payed to foster, rescue and rehabilitate hurt wildlife/abandoned animals/illegally imported animals. It also depends on where you live, I’m in Canada so it’s different everywhere but that’s just my experience :3
Me: Aww Jenna and Julien adopted another greyhound! My dad: Are they the ones with the chihuahua with no teeth? Me: Yeah that's them My dad: Oh good for them
Marbles: top of the pack has earned it Kerm: too nervous to participate Peach: too sneaky to participate Bunny: just gives horse energy to chill with And now introducing Loni: the go to girl for social activities and fun You now have a well rounded pack
I don't really understand this "not one thought in this head" "head empty" thing. I've been seeing it a lot lately and like... animals are not stupid so I just don't get it. Am I missing something?
My greyhound was an ex racer, so she was trained to not move when picked up so she'd be easy to carry and put in the stall for the race. Every muscle freezes when you lift her up. Not even her head moves. It's weird.
She’s not a foster fail she’s a success. She needed a home and you gave one to her, whether that be with you guys or someone else. Glad she’s found her forever home 💗
Its just a tongue in cheek term, no one really means it's a failure. Just a joke when you're fostering an animal and "fail" at the job of fostering because you're adopting. Of course it's a great, happy thing 😊
Someone said “Aw you got bunny a dog” and I’m laughing so hard that I cried 🥹 I’m genuinely so happy, and I think Loni obviously belonged w Julien and Jenna all along 😭☺️
I remember Jenna & Julien talking about adopting greyhounds years ago and to see them living their dream and giving these beautiful babies second chances warms my heart. We all know Loni will have such a great life with you all. ❤️
I’m envisioning Jenna taking a good old leisure nap on the couch and all the dogs just piled around her in their own personal spots. ❤ I’m so happy for your family and addition to your pack.
Julien getting emotional feeling like they somehow failed and that people weren’t giving Loni what she deserves makes my heart hurt. You guys are just amazing
@Chrelaade A That made me so sad too. Julien and Jenna are like the most perfect possible people for fostering dogs, especially a breed as sensitive and gentle as greyhounds. And that isn’t just because I love both of them, they clearly show *so much* genuine love and care for dogs and animals. They prepare these fosters in the most wonderful way and I’m glad this sweet baby could become part of their family ❤️
@@FukaiKokoro many Americans have no discipline because convenience culture messed their sense of perseverance. They don’t give time for acclimation and they don’t show the patience and discipline to train a dog. Instead they’re told it’s fine to dump them like they do with all the junk they’re told to buy and consume. I know bcs I adopted an American dog. Landlady found her and I went into debt to bring her back to Germany. She has been with my family for 8 years now. That dog was so traumatized, neglected and abused we still struggle with behavioral issues. Doesn’t matter. She is with us forever.
I’ve always hated the term “foster fail”, because as long as that baby finds a loving forever home, then it’s definitely not a fail 🤍 Congratulations to the entire pack! Loni has such a beautiful life with all of you
Yeah, I always joke about my girl being a foster fail just bc it’s funny how I ever thought I could part w her, but if it works out it works out, long as the dog gets a loving forever home!!
I think you could definitely spin it positively! You're not failing at anything other than fostering because you ended up adopting. It's not a bad thing, just means you failed at fostering. I truly applaud animal fosters too because these dogs truly deserve such great things and loving homes.
@@inbuttsmeeting I absolutely agree. Fail sounds negative, but this is not a pejorative. I fostered for over 10 years. I am, proudly, a foster fail, too. While searching for homes, as a volunteer and fosterer, we always loved our foster fails because they found the perfect companion. It is a tongue-in-cheek positive. The only negative side is that many of those foster families never fostered again. That said, it was a win for the lovely animal and the foster folks!
It's not a fail, as in you failed the dog. It's a fail in the sense that (in most cases) the foster parent is now failing all the other dogs they could have brought into their home and saved. It's also a nuanced term, because it's not in every case where the person stops fostering dogs, or at least working with a rescue in another important way. But like Julien was saying, I also think that if you foster enough animals, it's bound to happen where you find one that fits so perfectly into your home, that you can't let them go. The harsh truth is, without enough foster homes, many dogs will be euthanized. It also takes a lot of time and resources to train, and properly vet foster parents. So if the rate of "foster fails" is high, then it can negatively impact the rescue. This is why the term is really drilled into the people who decide to foster.
Julien is such a good dog dad, like he takes better care of his pups than some people do there children. Just a moment of appreciation for these angel of a human being. Congratulations jnj love you guys
Pets getting "returned" is so heartbreaking. My first foster was returned in a week and she was so sad and confused when she came back to me! I have never felt so bad over another animal in my entire life. Then 3 days later the first owner asked us to give her back and I told her it was not possible because I didn't think she would keep her word and not return the animal to me again. Thankfully we found a perfect match not long after and she is living the best life.
I adopted a shelter kitty who had been returned to the shelter three or four times before I found her… You can see in her little eyes how rejected she feels and how grateful she is every time she feels loved. It really is heartbreaking. These creatures aren’t a shirt that didn’t fit. They feel rejection and betrayal the way we would. I do understand wanting to “return” a pet that doesn’t fit into your situation for their best interest and well-being. But it’s best to be sure about it BEFORE going into the adoption process at all and selecting a new family member more carefully rather than “trying it” and then changing your mind.
@@avianna7738 animals can be unpredictable, especially in a new environment, and unfortunately it's just not possible to be "sure" about it all of the time.
Yeah I know the feeling. My poor bean bounced to 3 different homes before me. When I first met her she was nervous to go on walks with anyone but her foster mom cause that's how the handoff would happen. I love her to bits, she will never need another home if I have a say
@@avianna7738 It's not possible to know exactly how a shelter dog is before getting it, shelters don't know the dogs genetics, how they were bred, any neurological issues, or any past traumas. It's always a guessing game, my two rescues have aggression issues that weren't told to us before getting them, my male Bull Terrier has severe dog aggression and separation anxiety but the shelter didn't tell us that, they knew but didn't say anything except "He isn't a fan of other dogs" instead of saying "he's dog aggressive" which he is, and my female American Bully has severe human aggression issues and toy guarding issues that also weren't disclosed to us. Surrendering or returning a dog is something that happens, it's not always a bad thing, it's normal. Sometimes a rescue dog fights with the dog already existing in the home, or randomly attacks people, or randomly attacks other dogs, or destroys the house when left alone, and the thing is, the person who adopts the dog doesn't have to take time and money out to help them if they don't want to or just can't, it's not an obligation, especially with how people pressure others to "Adopt don't shop" without even explaining how to safely adopt and deal with a badly bred shelter dog. I've never had to surrender or return a dog but I know people who have, the only times I thing surrendering a dog is bad is when the person surrenders a senior dog they've had forever just for being old, or when they surrender them just because they don't want them anymore and want another dog or none at all, or when they used the dog for breeding and don't want it anymore, or anything like those scenarios.
@@avianna7738 we recently adopted a kitten who was returned to the shelter bc their dogs were getting too rough with him while playing and they didn't foresee that. They were afraid their dogs might hurt him. I'd rather him be q bit confused and maybe a little sad than severely injured. They just didnt know how their dogs would be with a cat & it's not really like you can talk to them about it. I have zero ill will toward those people bc they could have been stubborn and kept him and he could have gotten injured. We lost our last cat in a car accident and it broke our hearts. But that means our dog was familiar with cats and we knew she does well with them. When we got himhe was definitely afraid of her. You can tell the last owner's dogs stepped over the line bc he was just really afraid of her. But over time as she respected his boundaries he now tries playing with her occasionally and isn't afraid at all anymore, not even when she's loud and bays and wiggles everywhere when she's excited. He used to bolt and now he barely reacts. Some animals are just not good fits for a home and you don't know till they're there. I'm glad nothing serious happened and the last owners were responsible and gave him up. I can only imagine how hard it could have been.Thankfully he ended up fitting into our lives easily. I also once had to rehome a lovebird because when I got her I was in good enough shape to care for him. Over time, I started getting more and more severe pains. Ends up I have fibromyalgia. I slowly got less and less mobile and it got harder and harder to do everything I needed to properly care for him. He ended up becoming severely aggressive with me and would attack me. He was not happy. I went on craigslist and asked people to send pictures of their current birds/flock. Found a family that already had a lot of birds and just gave them all the bird stuff I had. It broke my heart but he was not getting the care he deserved with me. On his first night with them he ended up hanging out with them and acting totally normal. He was finally comfortable and happy. So I was happy. I've never once regretted it.
When he talked about how much Loni helped Xena learn to be a dog instead of a racer, i felt it in my heart that she was meant for them. She came to them to help them help more greyhounds! my heart is so full!
I know that with fostering a "forever home" is the goal and it's really heartbreaking when it doesn't work out the way you would expect it to, but I'm really happy that Loni is joining your pack. I've really appreciated you sharing your fostering journey and I know that your dog's will have the best lives where they can know that they are welcome, wanted, and loved to the fullest extent.
I just really appreciate the vulnerability that Julien shares. It's so important to have male figures on the internet that show that emotions are NORMAL and it's good to express them. Thank you for being a good influence for the kiddos everywhere!
I love that Jenna left the internet and is living her best life with you and the pupperonis and apparently plants. Truly it makes me so happy to see that and to see that you guys are doing something so positive for animals that is also personally fulfilling. I love you guys from afar. ❤️
The non-adoption statement based on color is true for black cats. I never heard it about black dogs before. That is crazy! So happy for You and Jenna and the whole pack ❤
There’s a lot of superstition around black dogs, especially in Europe. They were often seen as an omen of death and demonic entities/familiars, or the devil himself in animal form in English folklore. The stigma persists even today, unfortunately. Just the same as black cats.
I have adopted grey hounds in the past and people are definitely more attracted to different coloured dogs, there were lots of black ones waiting for homes
I've heard that so many times. And my daughter ONLY wants black animals. Black dogs, black cats, black fish, etc. We love our black animals in this family!
The minute I heard Julen talk about adoption woes I said "Its because shes a black dog" I say this as the owner of two black dogs both of which took an insanely long time to adopt out. One of them was the last of her litter to be adopted out, looking like a tiny little curly furred teddy bear. Legitimately the cutest puppy. I told the foster I didnt understand why she was still available out of all the puppies...but she was one of the only black dogs. Jokes on them shes still cutest puppy and never lost her big puppy eyes. The other dog is a GORGEOUS fully black long coated collie shepherd mix. Just stunning, fairly young. She was on the adoption website for months. Of course I was "just looking". But month after month I couldn't understand why she wasnt getting taken. Its a huge shame. If anyone is reading this please look specifically for black dogs to adopt.
I totally agree, I have a black greyhound and he is the sweetest most gentle boy on earth and it’s so cute when they age and get a little white mask on their face
That's so horrible! I've always wanted black cats or dogs when I have space for a pet, and they're just as sweet and perfect as any other cat or dog. Plus the way they shine in sunlight is next-level gorgeous. I was attacked by a rottweiler when I was 3, and it was clear even then he was just scared because his owners were pretty crappy. Had nothing to do with his breed or coloration or anything. It's heartbreaking when people judge innocent creatures based on things they can't control.
Agreed completely. I was made aware of this sad fact and I always notice black dogs being overlooked. It’s sad but I always advocate for them to get the love they deserve.
Yes ma’am/sir! 🫡 haha. Actually reading this and hearing this about Loni, when I finally have a chance in the future, I want to get a black dog/cat. The last cat my family actually had, before she passed, we adopted from the shelter. So happy we chose her now cuz I didn’t realize they could be so hard to find homes for. She was just the cuddlest sweetest thing🥺 we had to have her.
You say that "it wasn't in the stars" and that you "weren't able" to find her a forever home - but you did! You gave it to her! She is exactly where she needs to be ❤️
You and Jenna were a big reason I ultimately decided on adopting an ex-racer when I could finally get my first dog (it had been a consideration for a while, but seeing your journey with Bunny, even though she wasn’t a racer, really sealed the deal). It has been absolutely the best thing I’ve ever done, and my girl is completely perfect for me. Her growth in the last two years since coming off the track has been amazing to see. I volunteer with the group I adopted her from and it’s so rewarding to see these fantastic dogs go to their forever homes - and so hard when they bounce. We have had several fosters who end up adopting their bounces as well because it’s so difficult for them, and often times that foster “fail” is the best possible thing that could have happened to them. Loni sounds like she is absolutely perfect for your family, and I’m so glad she’s home. ❤️
Currently watching my grey girl snooze on her bed in front of me. I owe her being here with me now (almost a month in!) and changing my life to Jenna, Julien, and Bunny too ♥️ I met her adoption organization last August (almost a year ago now!), learned about her in January, and she was finally able to come home to me in June. We intend to stay close w/ her adoption organization as well! To think that what’s become a new passion for me all started in April 2019 when Jenna’s first video about Bunny came out… Truly one of the best dog breeds, and certainly the greytest ♥️
"We wanted to make it work for her, and it wasn't in the stars." But it was, and it worked out wonderfully for her and for you. Sometimes you just know, and "foster fail" is such a bad term for it because it's borne out of love. She needed a home and your pack was perfect for her. I really do think that certain things are just meant to be sometimes, and seeing her with you makes it obvious that this is one of those times. I'm so happy for your entire family, and especially for Loni. She's an absolutely gorgeous dog and that smile of hers says it all. She's where she's supposed to be, and I'm so happy for all of you. Thank you for sharing!
The amount of love this man has for his family is beyond sweet. Like this is a man who is unafraid to tear up over how much he loves his dogs and his Jenna
Hearing Julien's voice trembling makes me tear up. He's so much in love with these dogs. I'm so happy they're all living their best lives, the entire family. The goodness of their hearts fills up the room with light every time I watch these streams.
I freakin LOVE black dogs and cats. I never even knew other ppl didn’t until like a year ago. For some reason I just find them and their eyes so calming. We had a black lab growing up and she was my absolute favorite.
i have a black lab/great dane mix and he is the sweetest pup of all time. took him to the vet today & he lit up the room, everyone was falling for him. theyre such angels :')
When Julien picked her up and showed her on camera, I thought she was the cutest thing. I LOVE black dogs & cats they have such a shiny coat. I'm not even a greyhound person and I fell in love right away. I'm glad she's a permanent addition and I hope to see more of her!
Same here! I have a greyhound in the same tuxedo markings as loni and I think both of the girls are just gorgeous. Pairing that with their sweet personality, they're just perfect
Can you please make us a dog video with all the dogs interacting, and show us all their sweet relationships?? I'd love to see it!!! Congrats on adopting such a wonderful doggo. She was clearly meant for you this whole time in my opinion! 🥰 She's such a good foster assistant!!
We have fostered 14 greyhounds, the one that bounced back to us ended up staying with us forever ❤️ it’s been 4 years and we knew we made the right choice keeping him!
the black dog thing is so true, we have a black greyhound and shes the most lovely dog you'll ever meet, people really miss out when they judge too quickly. i'm so happy you've adopted loni, she's really gonna have the happiest home with you and jenna
It really makes me sad that people think of black animals as somehow boring or less desirable. I've had quite a few void pets and I think they're gorgeous! I was just thinking how pretty Loni is when Julien mentioned the black dog thing and it makes me so sad. Give your grey-void some scritches for me!
I love black animals! I think they’re gorgeous. In the greyhound group I volunteer with, we all maintain that the black boys are the best; the kennel favorite is almost always a black dog, and we advocate for them the hardest. (My greyhound is a brindle, but I’d adopt a black one in a heartbeat if I had room for any more pets in my apartment.)
it's the same with bunnies as well! I love my little black void son but when I got him he was one of many black bunnies abandoned, and the pound said that black and albino (white with red eyes) buns are the most often abandoned and aren't adopted much 😢
Our great dane was the last of her litter to be adopted because she is black. But my God, she's one of the most amazing dogs I've ever met in my life. We've only had her for a year and a half, but I can't imagine my life without her
i have a miniature pinscher Chihuahua and two bunnies and they're all black (with some coloring on two of them). I've always been drawn to animals with black fur and it makes me so sad that people deny them for that 😭 these animals are my best friends.
I'm so glad you were being so careful to avoid a second bounce back. My oldest dog was a rescue that we got when she was just under a year old and she had already been re-surrendered a few times. It made her so incredibly neurotic and have extreme separation anxiety that it took 5 years for her to understand that she was home with us and she lost the urge to run off. I agree with so many comments below that you were already her forever home.
I fully agree with this! My family adopted a cat that had been adopted from the shelter and surrendered again multiple times (the last time by our neighbors, that's how we met her). She has a very confusing personality that needs patience, and honestly a very cat-focused family, to get past, and we think that a lot of her issues stem from being adopted and surrendered so many times. She loves people, follows us around the house, and sleeps pressed up against us like she's scared to lose us, but she also has a temper and it is clear why some families would not have been willing or able to keep her. She's had a hard life, and we've promised her she'll never have to go through a shelter again as long as we are here. The bounce backs are extremely confusing and stressful for pets, so thank you for being so thoughtful to Loni!
the way im ugly-crying happy tears for loni and also for bunny and the littles and jnj themselves, been rooting for her to be as happy as can be since day 1 and she deserves the best
The way Julen got emotional when saying she was staying forever really broke me 🥺 he sounded genuinely like a father announcing the birth of his child 💕 You and Jenna are such amazing pet parents! It's so special that she didnt seem to fit anyone else's lifestyle except for you guys and she had found her home already 💕 I'm sooo happy for Bunny to have a friend of the same size who shes already besties with ☺️
the way you describe how she acts around the other dogs really does show that... she was always part of your pack, she just took a couple weeks of vacation away from you at some point. i'm totally sold on the fact that she was meant to be a part of your life for the rest of hers. congrats to loni for her forever home and to y'all for your (not so) new doggo!
When you were talking about internalizing the things Loni was going through, man do I feel that. We just rescued the sweetest boy, Max, he was abandoned by my MIL's neighbor. As soon as my spouse told me about it, I was like "well we're gonna bring him home, right?" Sometimes I just look at Max and cry because who could abandon the sweetest, snuggliest, silliest boy. He just wants to be loved. Our home and hearts have so much space for him.
Totally feel you. Our boy Oliver was returned 8 times before we got him. And for silly things too, like escaping the yard, barking at them when they came home late in the dark, and a neighbor saying they were going to sue due to his breed. He is the best thing that has ever happened to us and is the perfect boy (even with whatever behavioral issues we’ve had to work through and he’s come so far due to doing that work). A lot of people don’t understand that owning a dog truly is work and they just want an instagram pet instead of understanding the commitment adopting requires.
marbles cuddles with her…she’s already a member of the pack i am so happy that this is such a large part of your life these days, the world is a better place for it i am also happy to hear you talk about jenna as i have missed her and i was hoping she was doing well :) thank you for everything julien
Maybe no one else loved her enough because there were no other people who could love her more. I used to rescue feral kittens and get them tamed and rehomed a lot when I was in my teens and 20s. In the last two litters that we had come through, there were two cats that I knew in my heart were destined to be with me. One of them was a tuxedo who ended up being the absolute sweetest baby in the world. She was with me through numerous surgeries, through becoming disabled, through sickness and sorrow. She was always there, quiet and compassionate, and I don't know how I could've gotten through all this without her. I lost her last year to cancer and it has flipped my whole world upside down. I could have never imagined my life and my journey without her. She saw me through my last surgery and I said goodbye 3 weeks later. I fully believe these babies end up with who they belong with, even if we can't see it at the beginning of our journey together.
I am so sorry for your loss and your health struggles. The love you gave to them all came back to you when you most needed it. Thank you for taking care of all those animals. I hope the pain eases soon. 💙
I feel this so much. Lost my chubby guy last year and its still a void that can never be fully filled he helped me heal my mental state, fullfiled his purpose and left but never really went away... Hope good health serves you thought life wish you all the best! ❣️🐱
I have a black mixed breed dog that literally no one wanted cause he looked "ominous". I saw past that immediately because as soon as I approached him he just looked at me in the eyes and let me know in his own ways that he was a sweet pupper. I adopted him on January 2015, and he's now a happy and spoiled 7 year old rescue. Thank u for loving Loni like I loved Sirio when no one else seemed to care.
my family has a “foster fail” as well and he is such a sweet dog. we foster potential service dogs, and not to be rude but buddy just. was never fit to be one, he isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer as well as being afraid of kids, but it was obvious that he thought he was already at his forever home when he was with us, so we kept him, and that was over 5 years ago now, and he is a wonderful pet. congratulations on adding a new member to the pack, loni seriously hit the jackpot with you guys
Oh, Loni is NOT a fail at all, she’s a total win, and she won’t be the last one who finds her way as a foster to a permanent. Some of the ones we fostered were happier in other families, but we definitely had a lot who stayed :) Greyhounds are THE sweetest souls. I’m 44 and my mom started adopting greys in the early eighties. I have no memories of my life without a greyhound :) I lost my fifteen year old girl in January, and right now I am without a greyhound. It’s awful. I’ve got three dachshunds and a very old decrepit chihuahua. I never had tiny dogs and they’re great, but I really can’t wait to get more greyhounds. I’ve never been without greyhounds OR horses and their energy cannot be described. Julien is correct too, about black dogs, for some reason they are often overlooked. No one wants them…they think they look like skinny labs. It’s just an unfortunate side effect of human beings need to be seen as unique, as special, and it’s sad, yes, but at the end of the day each and every dog deserves to be loved wholly, and if someone can’t appreciate a lovely dog for who they are…they don’t deserve that dog. At the end of the day, a dog isn’t it’s body, it’s its soul. Like us, we are just bananas inside peels, the peel doesn’t matter at all.
As someone who's been on the opposite side of this experience I totally understand. Although the dog didn't necessarily bounce. After we brought her home she started getting stressed out in the stress caused seizures ( keep in mind this was a very relaxed inviornment with the most happening in the house was the tv on ) which she had never had before. When we told the Foster parent of the Shepard that she had seizeures and if it was normal behavior, they said no, it's new, and they insisted on taking her back. We almost wanted to tell them no but we knew that the best thing for the dog would be an environment that they were comfortable with but didn't make her have stress or seizures.
It just happens sometimes. Might not have been the environment at all, just the change. Some dogs take it a lot harder than others. Thank you for caring for her and getting her back to a healthier place ❤️
Wow I got so emotional watching this. Just thinking of Bunnie having a best friend and little marbles with a new cuddle buddy. Sounds like Loni makes a natural little emotional support dog for the others! Can’t wait to have a grey hound of my own one day, I love them so much!! 💗
I've got to say, when I saw your instagram story months ago saying, "This little one has my whole heart," it became unimaginable to me that Loni would be adopted anywhere better than into your family. You've got a wonderful family and pack, Julien, and we are all in awe of your endless kindness and love for the people, creatures, and things you care about. Wishing Loni a wonderful long, long life journey with your family.
I love that y'all are living out your dreams of rescuing greyhounds. I remember how much you both mentioned wanting to adopt and rescue greyhounds on the podcast and it seems to be so genuinely fulfilling for you and Jenna. Loni has the best dog parents ❤
Marbles cuddles with her, no more information needed: she already has a perfect home that's why people passed her up, they all felt in their hearts that Loni is already where she is supposed to be.
I think this was meant to be. She fits in so well with her family I couldn’t visualize her anywhere else. You fought so hard for her and I’m glad you pulled her out of the failed adoption cycle.
they're gonna have a whole herd of house horses soon and that's fantastic. i'm so happy loni has found her forever home with her loving parents and equally loving siblings
This is a perfect love story. It's a story of how Loni helped Bunny come more out of her shell, how she helped Xena relax, how Marbles is comfortable cuddling with a horse 10x his size, how she's making those super tough days easier to deal with for J&J and how everyone in the pack has become her family for life in these 158 days. Welcome to the DINK fam, Horsey L! You're going on the biggest adventure of your life💜
I think het coat is amazing. She's so cute and I love how it's so deep and rich dark black and her little eye balls are like floating in a void of cute doggo
Congratulations Loni! She’s going to have the best life with you, Jenna and the dogs. We rescued a schnauzer eight years ago and he bounced around several foster homes before we decided to take him (he really liked my dad and my dad wanted him)-he’s a great dog and once you get past the hyper behavior and the barking-he’s actually very sweet and loving. Rescue dogs are truly so special and make amazing dogs when the right person gives them a chance. I hope to rescue dogs one day too.
this just made me cry. hearing about loni's adoption process broke my heart but she found her forever home with you and jenna and it feels like it was meant to be that way from the start. it's where she belongs!! i'm so happy for her and y'all. the best dog parents in the world
I gotta say many of us use "foster fail" because it's a tongue-in-cheek acknowledgement of our own inabilities to let go of the perfect dog for us. One thing is for sure though--foster fails are never actual failures! The goal is to get the pet into a loving home and that just sometimes ends up being your home! 😉
Jenna and Julien are my kind of people. I’m so glad I’m not the only one who cries over adopting a fur baby!! I bawled like a baby when I rescued my sweet boy. He went through the same thing! He was at the SPCA the longest, longer than any of the dogs. People just walked by him like he was nothing. And he spent most of his life in a shelter. I don’t get it… and it breaks my heart. But it was perfect for us because we adopted him. It’s almost been 2 years since he’s been here with us. 💕 Bless you two and your fur babies. 🥹
We've heard Julien's thoughts/experiences with Loni over the last few months, and I knew there was a strong chance they would adopt her based on the way he talked about her. He never talked about his other fosters the way he talked about Loni, he didn't have the same experiences as with other greys. When he talked about how Loni helped out with making another foster feel comfortable her first day, and when he talked about how well Loni and Bunny got along, I just knew. Julien was far too in love with Loni to give her up, especially after she bounced back.
Julien! I'm an older millennial, I haven't jumped on the twitch bandwagon yet and I've also just had a baby 8 months ago so I'm extremely out of the Julien loop. This video made my heart burst- Loni is gorgeous, congrats to the whole family! Can you do a dog update video for RUclips for us old mom millennials 🤣 love you guys, so happy for you!
Congratulations to Julien, Jenna, Bunny, and the little ones! What a beautiful family you are 💜 In all the world, Loni could not have landed in a more loving, positive household! I love foster "fails," they are sooo the opposite of a failure. It means you have spent actual time with her and love her for herself, not just because she looked cute enough to adopt. All of your pets are very lucky to be with you.
Now that you've decided to make Loni and official member of the family, have you considered also getting her certified as a therapy dog? In addition to being a greyhound ambassador, she can bring comfort to those with special needs, or even programs where kids practice their reading skills by reading aloud to dogs.

I love this so much. Congratulations on the fam upgrade! 💜💜💜 “Foster fail” is fiction. It’s propaganda. Finding a forever home is always the goal. Always.
Congratulations on your first foster win. Animals truly do choose their owners. You fostered her to be her support system and she became yours. She is a beautiful addition to your family.
as soon as julien said everyone was passing loni at the park I started bawling and did not stop until the video finished. I’m so happy she stayed with you guys bc it seems like as soon as she stepped into your house she had already found her forever home! you guys are such great parents and it’s amazing to hear how she also gets along great with the rest of the pack!! can’t wait to see the rest of your guys’ journey together 💓
“You tried to make it work but it didn’t work out” I don’t think that’s true?? you found the perfect fit for her which is you guys. It happens but as you said she’s improved all of your lives but you’ve also vastly improved her life! Everything happens for a reason and this was just meant to be! So in the end it did work out for the better!!!
"Boomerang" dogs are tough. We don't do fosters most of the time where I work (it just doesn't work out for us, no shade to those who do because I know it is great for some shelters), but when they come back, especially more than once, it is so hard on them. I'm so glad you guys opted to keep her. Foster "fails" are adoptions, and I think you guys are amazing. I think she will make an amazing ambassador. Thank you for doing what you do
Hi Julien!! I'm so excited for you and Loni!!! This is a little unrelated but I volunteer at a senior cat sanctuary in Orange County and I know you guys are familiar with sanctuaries. For us, it's a place for mostly people who pass away or go to assisted care to will their kitty pals to a safe forever place that they'll always be taken care of. We typically don't allow visitors because we want to make sure that the kitties have consistency in who they see but guests can come with volunteers. I would love to have you and Jenna down as my guests for some kitty time if you're interested! It's a very low-key, low pressure place, we don't adopt out our cats because this is their forever retirement home. Let me know if you'd like more information, it's my favorite place in the whole world to be 🥰
@@lisachiappetti6092 I thought she would love it! Its a very private place and we dont really do social media, so it'd be a very private thing for them to enjoy 😊 a little break from doggy central so they can enjoy some kitties!
Yes, I was wondering if it’s bc she’s a black dog. My dog Jaxon is all black not a single spot of any other color and he was rehomed. I have a special place for the all black animals (cats included) because people don’t choose them :(
I don't get it honestly. Black animals' fur always looks so shiny and nice. They look so majestic. And most of the time they are soooo sweet. I'm sure superstition plays a factor in it. It's so sad to see them overlooked like that :(
Our dog Cooper was our foster failure. He was a hundred pounds of pure love and just the perfect dog. But everyone didn't want a huge dog that shed everywhere. He is the tolerant and patient one out of all of our dogs. And he gravitated toward our ginger daughter with all his love. I was dead set on him finding a home and said everyday we are just his fosters. Until I finally was like Cooper were your forever home. It's okay to fail. But not really fail. Cause they are essentially what you didnt know you were missing. They filled that void you couldn't put your finger on. I would fail again for him a hundred times. Because we are his people and his home. You guys are great people for everything you do. Fostering is hard. And finding homes is harder. But congrats on the bundle of love you never knew you needed.
I've never heard of Julien before this day, and now I'm here - invested in this with tears in my eyes! From what I understand you've got quite the pack now! Congratulations!
Julien was like Daddy Warbucks in Annie. He saved Loni from a sad place & gave her the life she deserves. Welcome to a whole lot of love & an amazing family Loni/Inol I know you and Jenna will give her so much love. Happy for Peach to have a pal & Marbles to have a soft new place to not know where he is. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Loni is the MOST precious dog, it's such a shame that her first fit didn't work out the way you guys had hoped but I'm so glad she's a full time part of your home now 💕💕
As much as I miss Jenna I know being a greyhound rescuer is her ultimate dream job
Is that an actual job? I don't think you get paid...
@@sugarsore it depends! Some people do like fostering the same as charity work, some do it for free, and then some like myself go to school to get certification and training to do it 24/7 full time! I'm even emotional and with tears just hearing him and thinking about the dogs that need to be adopted. It is so sad that animals go through this.
Isn’t it better that someone admits it’s wrong for them then see a dog suffer in a home that isn’t right.
I truly applaud animal fosters too because these dogs truly deserve such great things and loving homes.
it’s tongue in cheek. I have never heard anybody use “foster fail” as anything other than wryly positive

Her and Marble are best friends
Clearly Loni was meant for your home. She's a perfect fit if she makes everyone in the house feel happier.
I was thinking this exact thing. Something was telling them that Loni was meant for them.
I've noticed a lot of foster homes have resident dogs or cats that are just perfect foster siblings. It's so so sweet. I'm so happy right now
I had that thought too. Not surprised she’s staying at all, she’s where she’s meant to be.

I've really appreciated you sharing your fostering journey and I know that your dog's will have the best lives where they can know that they are welcome, wanted, and loved to the fullest extent.

The non-adoption statement based on color is true for black cats. I never heard it about black dogs before. That is crazy!
So happy for You and Jenna and the whole pack ❤
me neither, but i guess it makes sense as they are seen as omens the same as black cats
Unfortunately, a lot of black animals in general are overlooked because they don’t photograph well.
I've heard that so many times. And my daughter ONLY wants black animals. Black dogs, black cats, black fish, etc. We love our black animals in this family!
The minute I heard Julen talk about adoption woes I said "Its because shes a black dog"
I say this as the owner of two black dogs both of which took an insanely long time to adopt out.
I never knew this was an issue in the dog world. That's crazy.
Sure, just sharing their journey, helps us know is this a fit? Just fostering, or adopting the right dog for your life style.
Same, I can't wait to adopt a greyhound 🥺
I freakin LOVE black dogs and cats. I never even knew other ppl didn’t until like a year ago. For some reason I just find them and their eyes so calming. We had a black lab growing up and she was my absolute favorite.
I don’t think it is on purpose, it is subconsciously. But I purposefully adopted one.

the black dog thing is so true, we have a black greyhound and shes the most lovely dog you'll ever meet, people really miss out when they judge too quickly. i'm so happy you've adopted loni, she's really gonna have the happiest home with you and jenna
That’s so beautiful 🥹❤️
Me too, why did I click this vid upon waking?
What Marbles wants, Marbles gets.
He wanted a cuddle greyhound 🥰
I wish pics could be posted in comments. I wanna see him now. I also have a dog named Max. He's a long haired chihuahua.
Loni couldn't ask for a better pack to go on a long long life journey with
The "long long life journey" line literally always makes me tear up
marbles cuddles with her…she’s already a member of the pack
i am so happy that this is such a large part of your life these days, the world is a better place for it
i am also happy to hear you talk about jenna as i have missed her and i was hoping she was doing well :) thank you for everything julien
@@liashah5040 Thank you
I feel this so much.
Congrats to Loni on her promotion to permanent family member! Turns out it WAS in the stars for Bunny ❤
my family has a “foster fail” as well and he is such a sweet dog. we foster potential service dogs, and not to be rude but buddy just. was never fit to be one, he isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer as well as being afraid of kids, but it was obvious that he thought he was already at his forever home when he was with us, so we kept him, and that was over 5 years ago now, and he is a wonderful pet. congratulations on adding a new member to the pack, loni seriously hit the jackpot with you guys
J&J: going through an emotional roller coaster 🎢
Loni: just happy to be here
Oh, Loni is NOT a fail at all, she’s a total win, and she won’t be the last one who finds her way as a foster to a permanent.
Some of the ones we fostered were happier in other families, but we definitely had a lot who stayed :)
Greyhounds are THE sweetest souls. I’m 44 and my mom started adopting greys in the early eighties. I have no memories of my life without a greyhound :)
I lost my fifteen year old girl in January, and right now I am without a greyhound.
Marbles cuddles with her, no more information needed: she already has a perfect home that's why people passed her up, they all felt in their hearts that Loni is already where she is supposed to be.
now that you guys basically have a farm, jenna needs her cat. >:)
Y u haven’t posted in a year
Greyhounds and cats aren't always a great mix
@@wolfiewifie isn’t that also the reason why they didn’t want to get another hamster?
Five dogs are a terrible environment for a cat, absolutely not.
@@abear2874 well not necessarily, plenty of dogs and cats living happily together. Strongly depends on the circumstances.
The way he picked her up like a baby and she was completely relaxed 🥺
I think this was meant to be. She fits in so well with her family I couldn’t visualize her anywhere else. You fought so hard for her and I’m glad you pulled her out of the failed adoption cycle.
Never have I ever seen a greyhound be so comfortable being held like a baby. So many happy tears for you guys!!
I love seeing Julien holding a giant greyhound like a baby
they're gonna have a whole herd of house horses soon and that's fantastic. i'm so happy loni has found her forever home with her loving parents and equally loving siblings
omg Julien getting emotional immediately brought tears to my eyes too. I'm so happy for yall and the pack and shes precious, love u guys
You're going on the biggest adventure of your life💜
Horsey
I think het coat is amazing. She's so cute and I love how it's so deep and rich dark black and her little eye balls are like floating in a void of cute doggo
I don’t stop by this channel all that frequently anymore but thank god marble is still living his best life
Congratulations Loni! I hope to rescue dogs one day too.
this just made me cry. hearing about loni's adoption process broke my heart but she found her forever home with you and jenna and it feels like it was meant to be that way from the start. it's where she belongs!! i'm so happy for her and y'all. the best dog parents in the world
Julen: Are you tired?
Loni: *looks directly at Julen then at the camera*
"You meet the one that was never meant to leave" Jesus christ Julian got me SOBBING
“Foster fail” is a bad name for giving a dog a good home. Lots of love to all of you. Welcome to the pack Loni 💕
Yeah, she definitely seems to have the personality type for it!
I was just about to comment this
aww man i’m crying so much. julien with tears in his eyes… you can tell he harbors so much love and passion for these dogs and it’s truly infectious; i’m sitting here crying over loni being such support for everyone from jnj down to meeble. crying crying crying. so much love for jnj and their passion for these angelic sweet greyhounds. thank u jnj
I love this so much. Congratulations on the fam upgrade! 💜💜💜
“Foster fail” is fiction. It’s propaganda. Finding a forever home is always the goal. Always.
Congratulations on your first foster win. Animals truly do choose their owners. You fostered her to be her support system and she became yours. She is a beautiful addition to your family.
This made me cry. May the Universe continue to shine on you and Jenna. Keeping doing what you do. Thank you.
"Foster fails" are really just a family members that were meant to be. I am so happy for you and the whole pack.
as soon as julien said everyone was passing loni at the park I started bawling and did not stop until the video finished.
I love how the chat just explodes when he finally says they adopted her!!!!! The Dink Fam is forever
Julen crying because he is so happy about loni makes my heart grow 2 sizes
"Boomerang" dogs are tough. We don't do fosters most of the time where I work (it just doesn't work out for us, no shade to those who do because I know it is great for some shelters), but when they come back, especially more than once, it is so hard on them. I'm so glad you guys opted to keep her. Foster "fails" are adoptions, and I think you guys are amazing. I think she will make an amazing ambassador. Thank you for doing what you do
Loni looks SO PRETTY and SWEET. Seeing how emotional it makes Julen makes me cry too. Glad thats how it turn out for both u guys and loni. Congrats!
Let me know if you'd like more information, it's my favorite place in the whole world to be 🥰
This is very sweet, but if you’re looking to actually possibly speak with him, I would look on his socials for a business/inquiry email
I'm pretty sure Jenna would lose her shit over this
@@augiejohannes thank you for the tip, I'll try that! 😊
@@lisachiappetti6092 I thought she would love it! Its a very private place and we dont really do social media, so it'd be a very private thing for them to enjoy 😊 a little break from doggy central so they can enjoy some kitties!
I'd message his mods through discord to get the message through
Bunny and Loni being beat friends is something I need to see 😭😭😭
I love how much he and Jenna love these dogs. You can tell by how emotional he got
Yes, I was wondering if it’s bc she’s a black dog. My dog Jaxon is all black not a single spot of any other color and he was rehomed. I have a special place for the all black animals (cats included) because people don’t choose them :(
It boggles my mind that it is often a factor
I don't get it honestly. Black animals' fur always looks so shiny and nice. They look so majestic. And most of the time they are soooo sweet. I'm sure superstition plays a factor in it. It's so sad to see them overlooked like that :(
Both my dog and cat are black and were rescuers. They rescued me
Same with bunnies too, no one adopts the black fur buns :(
Our dog Cooper was our foster failure.
Welcome to the J&J family 😊
Julien was like Daddy Warbucks in Annie. He saved Loni from a sad place & gave her the life she deserves. Welcome to a whole lot of love & an amazing family Loni/Inol
I know you and Jenna will give her so much love.
