I LOVE the sound of the drums, I can't even describe the musical abilities of Dave.

As someone who's drummed nearly since he could walk, did jazz band and drum-line every year of high school eons and eons ago, and played/recorded with countless bands/groups throughout my life; I concur 110 god damn %. The killer drum sound on this record is (imo) directly because they had modern metal's one true God, Kurt Ballou (lead guitarist/songwriter for Converge) produce the entire thing; from front to back. Almost no one can make a set (or hell, a metal record in general) sound as good as Kurt can (... except for maybe fellow Converge member Jacob Bannon. They both get around like crazy on the other side of the soundboard these days). Dave absolutely slays it playing-wise on everything they've ever put out, but the recording/production quality of his set; project to project, doesn't have near that kind of consistency (same goes for the entire group as well) so the pretty much completely fucking perfect production on display here immediately stood out to me on my 1st listen (and that was even before I knew Ballou was the producer).
