  • *THE DATE STATED IN THE BEGINNING 28 OCTOBER 2018 IS INCORRECT* On the 28th of october 2017 KLM Cityhopper retired their Fokker F70 aircrafts with the last commercial passenger flights. I flew that day for the last time on a KLM Fokker F70 from Amsterdam to Humberside on the KL 1489, this video is of the takeoff of that flight.
During takeoff the pilot applied takeoff power with the bakes on and then released the brakes resulting in massive engine vortexes.
The GoPro telemerty isn't really accurate as you can see.
    Aircraft: PH-KZM
    Seat: 16F
Shot-Out to Schipholhotspot for filming the external view! Check out his RUclips Channel / schipholhotspot

Sorry for the late view Sunil. What a great powerful take off and well done to Schipholhotshot for helping to make this Fokker 70 video even more special. Doesn't seem like 5 minutes since you done this flight. Excellent and fitting take off video for the retirement of KLMs famous little Fokker 70.

Cool video - not only the multi angle views but also all the techinical info. Almost like a flight tracker aboard an airplane ;-)

Cheers mate 👍 Glad you enjoyed the video and the GoPro Telemetry. As you can see it's not really accurate but it's real easy to do with a GoPro Hero 5 (or 6 I think). The GPS loses signal now and then, maybe that's why it's not really accurate.

Excellent video buddy, a very special last fight on the Fokker 70. Loved the multi video on the taxi and take off.

Nice one mate. this is 2017, but you write 2018. It's ok for your fault. So sad to see this Fokker retired from Dutch aviation history. One of Fokker's famous plane was Trimotor that produced in Netherlands & USA (for Pan Am). for KLM cityhooper, they took E-Jet for its successor.

    Very nice! :D
I will miss the Fokker a lot!
Was that seat 15F? I think it's one of the best views onboard the F70! :D
Personally I've been on the very last F70 flight, from LHR to AMS.
It was a very nice experience! We've flown the special Anthony Fokker livery! ;)

I'm looking forward to your complete F70 report!
      P.S. You're awesome! :D

I think its sad when they retire an aircraft, when it probably has a few more flying hours in it. Don't think I would have liked to sit where you did. Not much to see between the wing and engine.

Thanks for watching Paul! i do agree that you don't see much between the wing and engine, but I love the engine view and to see the vortex on takeoff. 1 seat to the front (15F) would be better imo...

Hello pal, was it pure coincidence you was on that last flight or did you specifically book to be on knowing it was a final flight? Have you been on a time out of doing videos, not seen any for a while

Hi Gary, thanks for watching mate 👍 I didn't fly alot the past 9 months, that's why I havn't done any video's lately..... Did some short flights but nothing special really. But that's about to change 🙂 The Fokker 70 flight I did was not the very last flight, the last flight was that evening from London Heathrow to Amsterdam. I did bought my ticket to be on the last flight. When I bought my ticket my flight back from HUY to AMS the next day (29th october) would be (one of) the last flight(s). But unfortunately KLM changed the schedule after I purchased my ticket making the 28th the last day of operations. So the next day I flew back on an E175 instead of a Fokker 70. Hope to have the F70 flight report ready in a couple of days, I will also upload a video of the E175 flight.
