My favorite one was when Elon Musk was buying Twitter. I got an email directly from "Musk" saying the Twitter deal was closing today but he was $1,000 short and if I wired him $1,000 he would give me a 10% stake in Twitter worth over a billion dollars. Lol! I had this hilarious mental image of Musk trying to close the deal and Twitter executives saying, "Nope deals off, we said $40 Billion and all you have is $39,999,999,000 and him madly trying to email random people for the extra $1,000.
As for the Walmart one - I'll explain it better because I've had this happen. You order for PICKUP and don't think you got your item, and it's easy to forget and move on. Turns out that the item you added for pickup wasn't available for pickup, so they send it via delivery instead. Really easy to forget about the small item from over a week or two ago that just appears suddenly.
😅😅😅 Me. I am the idiot who fell for the "omg my ipad is at your house!" thing. Like. I even came out and helped them look everywhere outside in case somebody tossed it or something to come back for it later. I can't work, we don't have kids, and my husband was deployed. Literally zero people had been in or out of my house for over a week, so I *knew* it wasn't inside. But I let the chick come in and look around for her own peace of mind, stayed ON HER the whole time. She kept saying she was going to call the police, so since she didn't and it looked like she and her boyfriend(?) were getting mad... I did. Cops came. Talked to everybody. She told him something about being a doordash driver, so I pulled up my doordash history to see if she'd been here on the day she said she lost it. 🤣 And when I tell you that man went full Dad Mode on me... Like. Grabbed my shoulders, Serious Worried Look, that slow you-need-to-listen-to-my-words voice. "Ma'am. I need you to promise me that you will NEVER let a STRANGER *into this house* again. You call us first and let us handle it. That was a scam. Being robbed is the *best* scenario that could have happened. And you don't want your husband to have to come home because you were murdered, right?" That poor guy was so worried about me, man...
1:35 - The moment they try and ask for compensation/reward, call the cops on the non-emergency number and explain the situation to them, if the number isnt a burner they will then be able to trace the person and find out if they do have the cat. Becomes a theft and extortion case by that point.
But what are their scheme to get money? I assume it could be "transfer us money and then we will appear and give you the cat" but its also too dumb in my head to be true scheme. I mean, i would NEVER transfer any "rewards" before i see my cat well and alive with my own eyes, not on photo.

Usually when someone wants to pay an artist for a commission through paypal, they send the artist THEIR paypal email, and the artist will send a payment invoice to that email. Not the other way around.
Not necessarily. Plenty of artists just don't use invoices, and plenty of people who might want a commission might not even know about invoices if they're inexperienced in commissioning artists, but will know that knowing the email tied to someone's PayPal = being able to send them money. I'm curious what y'all think will happen if someone happens to know the email(s) linked to someone's PayPal account.
If you see that the artist is working for a company and not independent, that’s a red flag. A lot of GFX/TTV bots are actually working under a company and will be using a company account. In the case of those (usually in vtuber communities), ask people who made the vtubers they showcase; if they refuse to name them, they’ll often dodge the question and give non-answers until they eventually block you and delete the post.
Okay! I came to the comments because I was uncertain how else you'd use PayPal. It makes sense for the seller to request the buyers email for the transaction
NGL I'm tempted to do this with a pic of some random kpop idol and see if they catch on. I had one try to convince me that Mizuki Kirihara from CANDY TUNE (a decently well known jpop group) was a girl named Riko living in California (think i told this story already on a different account). The scammer literally stole pictures from her social media thinking no one would notice and no one would try to reverse image search, which is low key hilarious and low key gives people in a plethora on fandoms an edge against them. It's kinda like how those GFX and TTV bots will stupidly use well known vtubers and live2D models that aren't theirs as part of their portfolio (the reason why they'll never actually tell you who they made their examples for).
