From now on, if I'm watching a video or show and someone starts eating, I expect FORK CAM. Otherwise I'm turning it off.
I tend to agree world famous animator lumpy touch! FORK CAM is the best!
Lumpy touc
Especially if the FORK CAM is attached to a spoon
Can we also get a cam cam too like come on
Lumplord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ian has such a unique editing style. Id describe it as "chill ytp"
Definitely a ytp lite™
Diet Tim and Eric
I WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW I WOULD DESCRIBE IT
This is actually perfect
Love me some stutter loops
Its crazy how accurate "chill ytp" is
Love that Ian put the effort of hiking to these amazing spots in the outdoors just to do these reviews for us.
Not to mention all the danger... all those bugs and at least 2 bears... what a man.
@@jong2359 Which one is more dangerous, hula dancing mama bear or dirt panda?
@@nessamillikan6247 it really is a close call because you know hula dancing mama bear has hip strength and flexibility for days, but dirt panda has the element of surprise. I give the edge to the dirt panda I guess, can't prepare for a surprise very much.
@@jong2359 I would give hula dancing mama bear a solid B tier while dirt panda slides in with an A tier rating
Blue/Greenscreen
I have never in my life heard anyone describe a food tasting "like a memory, it's like it's almost not even there". That caught me so off guard I bursted out laughing
And its like such a perfectly vivid description too. its like "how havent i heard that before?!"
We need Hello Fresh to keep sponsoring this channel so we can keep getting updates on Ian's kitchen.
The passive agressive jab at whoever is supposed to fix Ian's kitchen during the sponsor segment just sells the video as a BrutalMoose video. Never change, Ian.
The poor man's kitchen has been borked for like 6 months at this point. Babies not yet born when his kitchen died are learning to talk
If you gotta vent, might as well be creative about it.
Im a contractor i wouldve done that far sooner. I wonder what the hold up is? Are you changing appliances?
@@KaleSchlegel Or maybe there were just unforeseen complications. I know nothing about that stuff, but I would imagine that could be a possibility.
@@KaleSchlegel I'm not all that knowledgeable about construction or anything regarding the building/placement of kitchen flooring/appliances, but seeing the images he displayed of his flooring, with the context of leaky appliances, my guess is that part of the floorboards may have rotted and lack structural integrity to get to fixing right away. I don't know what the timeframe is on replacing a kitchen floor though. Maybe I'm talking outta my ass and I have no idea what I'm saying... that's probably the case, but still wanted to put this out there.
Ian obviously has never heard the popular phrase, "Now we're camping with milk"
Now we're liming with milk
Now we’re milking with limes
Lime we're milking with now
now we're thinking with portals
Ian: dumps out the most wretched concoction of vaguely food-shaped pellets into his bowl
also Ian, immediately: 'looks pretty good!'
"yep that's food"
“Truly the foodiest of foods!”
Freeze dried food never looks good XD, but when you’re five or six miles away from a road or even sometimes another person they work.
To be fair he did make that whole ramen cookbook video
I just want to say how desperate you have to be to try to quote spice something up with freeze dried broccoli.
😂😂
He said spruce it up, but point taken... ok I was wrong later he does say spice up with buttered broc
Little does Ian know, there is powdered milk that you can rehydrate into normal milk.
I heard that, if you don’t make powdered milk right, it can taste kinda grainy 🤢
@@rachel_sj I’ve never really made it, but I did bring it on Boy Scout campouts back as a kid.
@@rachel_sj when i've not stirred powdered milk enough, it's created a cup of watery milk with little gluey chunks that taste like pure whey floating around in it...not my favorite
It's not good any way you make it
You are supposed to add powdered milk to regular milk so you get more milk per milk
Sunday Moose is a vibe, thank you for suffering for us
This is what Gerbert would want us to do on a sunday
@hey, you really don't need a nice camera. Just start making stuff!
@proxythe1337 thats a bot, you are too innocent for this world
sunday is the best day to watch moose
Santa is gonna be devastated that his freeze-dried beef skillet only got a 6/10
Guess who's getting coal this year
Did people really say, "It would taste better if you were hungrier"?
The same could be said of any food.
I like how Ian just straight-up ate the broccoli instead of doing any rehydrating.
That's probably why it tasted better when he put it with something with moisture, the stuff in the bowl
My biggest problem with these freeze-dried foods is the excessive packaging. You would think that they would focus on minimizing weight (and also waste that you have to pack out), but it doesn’t seem to be a high priority.
I’m newly sober and your videos occupy my free time and keep me from drinking! Thanks Ian!
Congratulations on your sobriety, one day at a time.
congrats keep going strong🎉
I don't mean to seem pessimistic or anything, but should you relapse a good piece of advice I heard is "sobriety isn't never relapsing again. It's making sure the time between relapses keeps getting longer and longer." That's been helpful to me, and should the worst happen maybe it'll help you too.
Congrats! Ian’s videos and streams helped me through an extremely difficult time years ago, I’m doing great now but I still love his content and it continues to be a comforting viewing experience. Sending my best wishes and support for you and your sobriety :-)
Keep up the good work my guy. It'll change you're life. 💪
Your editing is a kind of comedic art form all its own, and I am here for it #plop
Always here for the plop
"It'd taste better if you got out and worked up a sweat." You mean food tastes better when you're hungry? Yeah, that's ... literally a thing. It's why you go to the store and buy everything in sight when you're hungry, because everything sounds good. And then 20 minutes after you eat you look at what you bought and go, "Wow, I hate half of this." It doesn't make the food taste better, it lowers your expectations.
it may not raise the objective quality of the food but subjective quality can be important cuz ur body can bribe your palate to get what it needs, think of the victorians getting excited over a gelatinous fatty energy-rich pigs head for christmas after working all day in the cold, prolly tasted awesome to them despite being english cooking
Not only is he a living YTP, but he knows what the best vegetable is. Broccoli gang rise up
BROCCOLI GANG 🥦
I will start a war, The Cauliflower Legion shall rise! (I still love 🥦)
My day genuinely gets so much better every time Ian uploads
The editing on this one was a real trip, even for your standards. Love it.
Really? This one felt like it lost it's charm a bit than the usual, usually the jokes are a bit less run of the mill ytp still really enjoyable just had less truly funny moments I feel
To me it's a bit much lately. I love it, don't get me wrong, but the abundence makes it a bit less enjoyable imo.
Ian's hair is extra luxurious today...must be all the Corn
"Broccoli"
"Corn always wins!"
Ill scroll endlessly through my reccomendations cus I'm super picky abt what to watch but I NEVER miss out on a brutalmoose video. pls never change ian
Even tough he uploads every while, he is killing it with his video comebacks.
Can you try weird protein snacks next? They have all kinds of things like candies and cookies and chips
That's a great idea!
Fruit is the best freeze dried food, and even then only strawberry really stands out flavor-wise.
Strawberries are good but freeze-dried mango is top tier!
Everytime Ian uploads I'm at a different point in my life. And his videos are like a checkpoint that remind me that no matter how much things change, some things always stay the same. Or something like that
This editing was fucking wild. Thanks Ian
I still don't understand how you're supposed to survive off these things in a post-apocalyptic dystopia when they cost like $6 for every 200 calories worth of food.
P.S. Thanks for making this, Ian, your editing continues to be [pretty good]
The secret ingredient is crime ;p
"Beef tastes like dry"
Mr Food has wept tears of joy with such a poetic and accurate food discovery.
What kind of complaint is "you didn't do activities and get hungry first"
Like yes, obviously something tastes better when you're hungry, that's how it works, it's how come people who are starving can stomach eating boiled leather and other garbage.
If hunger is an ingredient to your recipe then it failed from the start.
Bro is a legend making these masterclasses in editing. Future generations will study this
Ian said Lemon with elders partying in the background. Like some kind of lemon party
Man I really hope he can fix his fridge soon.
I mean an Ian video is what I needed to complete a lovely day but oh god wtf is my boy eating
This video was good timing, I just was gifted a large tin of freeze dried beef, kinda nervous about it. Hopefully Ian can quell my fears :)
Send it to me
did ian quell your fears?
More brutalist food content?? Yes please!!
watching this just as Yom Kippur begins. i actually think this will help keep my appetite at bay.
Seeing ian lick the desicant packet from the santa's beef with the possibly raw rice grains in it and then ian having a tummy ache later wasn't at all concerning
Ian has grown a fascination for freeze-dried food in order to properly prepare for the Gerberpocalpyse.
Or the STU-pocalypse
It has been prophesied that the earth will shake at the hands of Binny Brush and his plastic bottle full of mixed beans
if you ever want to take something like milk hiking you can take those little jugs of yoohoo, they can be stored at room temprature because they only have dry milk powder and water instead of actual milk.
Not the sequel we asked for, but the sequel we all needed
I mean I asked for it too but that's not the point
You can buy quart containers of shelf-stable milk. Dollar Tree stores often have them. The milk will be at ambient temperature if you don’t have any way to chill the container, but it’s actual milk. Opinions vary on how good it tastes. I think it’s okay.
I've tried the shelf stable milk, the best way to describe it is sweet but clearly cooked
The sexiness of the chipmunk is debatable, I think
Ian's edits are becoming more and more akin to Tim and Eric and I couldn't possibly love it more.
as an infrequent but long time viewer(I was there when the sound was made), I'm impressed how much mileage you've gotten out of that plop sound effect.
All praise the plop
Does putting the freeze-dried broccoli into the Santa Fe's Santa Sand Skillet count as homemade cooking?
No, he's outside. It's outsidemade.
The REAL usable kitchen is the friends we made along the way
I’ve found with the freeze dried meals that they often work best when the water is piping hot from a fire and not just mildly boiled water
Love Ian's humour and editing style! Probably one of the few people who can make a sponsor ad worth watching lol
I love commenters’ opinion that crappy food would taste good if you’re exhausted and have no other options
Some tips from someone who eats a LOT of freeze dried food and ration packs:
1) When adding water, almost every food I have ever tried benefits from adding like 10-20% less water than it recommends.
2) Pick and choose your foods based on what would work well as a "slop". Some examples are stews, chillis, some very saucy pastas, etc.
3) Use extra seasonings. Most people who eat freeze-dried/ration foods like this take their own seasonings, and if you're using military rations, most will come with salt in the box or bag.
I like how the criticism of your last video is that you didn't lower your standards enough
I love corn and limes so this is perfect!
you know what they always say: “it ain’t real camping until you break out the milk!”
they always say that.
i love that people actually complained like this is a legit food review first and not a entertainment show xD
I wonder if Ian could use his hair like a lasso or a rope to climb a mountain.
Truly the highest quality fine dining for the great outdoors.
It always surprises me that I don't experience my usual misophonia rage when Ian does the foodstuff vids. Usually the sight or sounds of someone eating is an immediate "nuh-uh" for me but maybe it's the fact that the food sounds are sound effects. The fucking point is that Chef Ian Brutalfoodmoose is rad enough to offset my brain situation. Fuck the fork cam though...that's just not my bag, baby.
Truly one of the secret ingredients that makes a lot of these camp foods palatable is desperation.
Ian: It tastes like a memory.
Cookie: I will never be a memory.
I really enjoy how you pooped all over your own video. It's like watching good content and a ytp at the same time. I love your videos so much, they're interesting and your voice + jazz + sense of humor really makes my day.
I cant stop thinking about the chipmunk. What exactly made it sexy, Ian? It looked like a normal chipmunk.
It was the coy look in Sammy the Squirrel's eye.
To answer your question on cheese, yeah there's several types of freeze dried cheese and long life spread type cheese.
Ian is the kind of guy who would put a green screen over his kitchen, and project his own kitchen over it, whilst filming. and I would love it.
i always take like 10 dabs before watching a brutalmoose video so i can fully feel immersed B)
Ian, your videos (with all the hard work you do for us!) really make my day whenever I see the notification. You have such a great sense of humor and create really unique art. I can't wait to see what comes next from what is definitely one of my favorite RUclips creators. You're awesome!
Hello Fresh better keep Ian for life. I watch the ad like it's part of his actual content.
Any time I see someone besides Ian advertising for Hello Fresh, I think to myself "I don't believe any of this. I only believe it if Ian sings it"
The editing was so on point with this vid!
i love these vids so much the editing is so unique (at least i've never seen any other youtuber with vids like these) and they're so funny and entertaining. everything's great but i especially love the food vids from cooking to frozen to freeze dried. i hope ur kitchen situation gets better 🥲❤
Ok but that Son of Baconator joke was actually pretty funny
Cream Cheese and Chive is like the Squilliam Fancyson to Squidward's Sour Cream and Onion
I've never seen anything quite like the Fork Cam
it's always a great day when a brutalmoose video drops.
Broccoli and beans my guy, broccoli and beans givin you that bubble gut
I like to think Uncle Buck is the same uncle played by John Candy
I was just on a brutal moose binge and this vid dropped, perfect timing 🎉 hurray 😁
Love watching Ian’s eyes scan the page as he fires off the Hello Fresh ad, lovely video as always honey 💕💕💕
That chipmunk is legit the female squirrel from Disney's Sword and the Stone. I wonder if disney knows they are using it.
With every new video the editing is getting wilder and wilder and i fucking love it, i cant wait for them to just be like 25 minutes of absolute chaos
always love Brutalfoods, it's one of those RUclips only shows that just couldn't exist on normal TV that this channel does so well, that and the VHS Tapes episodes these are my favourites 😁
ian greenscreening himself into his own kitchen is always gold
3:45 "Fork Cam"
*shows spoon's POV
Love you Ian.
Hello fresh would sponsor you if all you had to cook with were spoons and lighters. Hell they would sponsor you if all you had to cook with was a rogue lightning bolt. Love your work, dude.
i don't know what I love more, the absolutely unhinged ytp-style editing on this or Ian spending like 5 minutes mispronouncing "Broccoli" as "Brock Lee".
absolute banger.
I'm always extremely suspicious when I find a real human that actually likes broccoli. Nobody likes broccoli; it tastes like broccoli.
that's why you gotta load it up with butter and garlic salt and pepper. maybe a little crushed red pepper also. delicious bc at that point you can barely taste the broccoli itself lol
I like broccoli ;_;
You just don't know how to cook it
It occurred to me while watching this that the best way to describe the editting style of these videos is if someone made a RUclips Poop of their own video, then only uploaded that edit.
I hate that youtube notifications don't even give great notifications and I wouldn't even know about the video
Another freeze dried classic to last the ages. And Oh my god the “less polish more truth” Hello Fresh plug hits so hard. Even when Ian is trying to ironically be less edited it comes through as gold. Your style will never age dude keep being you.
I love how even Ian's lower-effort ad reads still manage to put most creator's ad reads to shame.
"This woman died after filming"
Ian you are fantastic
"You cant take milk on a camping trip" Except you can. If you bring milk powder. Cant say if its any good. But ya know, its an option.
I wonder how many times ian goes back from the beginning and edits more
nothing is boring
using up all the stock footage in one video mvp
I think Ian setting up all the green screens, camera angles, and video footage is equal to hiking in the woods. So the freeze dried foods are warranted.
Always appreciate your edits
i love that the ad was also a life update and a cry for help. it might have been low effort physically but mentally that was high effort so i hope you finally get your kitchen back and have something other than dominos lol
“Boy I sure wish there was a finger cam”. Ian’s got you covered
Oh boy I hope there's no terrifying Hello Fresh monster waiting for me at the end of this video
Edit: Wait no I miss him :(
Ian, you are one of two people I never skip ads for; in fact I like to revisit videos sometimes just to watch the ads. Thank you for always being entertaining, no matter what the topic is.
