In defense of lwymmd... It was a phenomenon. It got people's attention, the music video directly called out a lot of celebrities, and that was the moment when she fully embraced the whole snake thing. lwymmd wasn't for the fans, it was for the people who hated her. She said "you want a snake? I'll give you a snake." It isn't a good song, but it was a flawless pr move.
@@nimratmand3318 yeah but the song IS made for the Music Video and for the public.... Not to actually enjoy.... Even though I actually really like it....
If you end up getting enough money to make it to the Eras tour, I have a feeling you will be blown away by her live performances for that album. The energy she brings for it is ✨️immaculate✨️!
Lmao as if a non swiftie would have anywhere near the wherewithal to know HOW to get their hands on tickets let alone sell a kidney in time to be able to afford it lol
Lwymmd is a song where you had to be in the drama at the time. It might seem cringey for people listening to it now but in 2017 it was like the best comeback ever. I also have a lot of nostalgia for it, and it is one of my favorite songs in Taylor’s discography.
Also part of the reason why I love this album so much is because era itself was just amazing. The tour, the magazines, the poems, the making of the songs, the tour movie, rep room / secret sessions. I also just prefer the production on these songs over the production on some of her other albums. it gave flavor.
i love reputation so much, but i can definitely understand your criticisms of it. tbh it kinda gives me whiplash to listen to every song in order, plus the songs can be hit or miss. but when it hits it HITS. also i like the overall theme of finding love during a tumultuous time in your life
The thing is that when this album came out it *was* a statement for what she was going through at the time. It’s such a time specific album that I don’t think people will understand it right now. Either way, I definitely think you’ll like how she does this era on the tour. It’s truly such a moment.
this is my favorite album because of a few things. production, story telling (weak in some songs), and my favorite, the way taylor swift tried to be edgy, but couldn’t because deep down she’s not that way. she tried so hard with the first 6 tracks, but then came through with her cute girl things. it shows that she’s still here. she’s still the cute country singer.
@jasonpaulkim That is so true, like a 100%!! I've always loved reputation but watching the stadium tour basically made me love it even more; it's a whole another vibe of getting to know these songs!!!
As a reputation stan (followed by Evermore and speak now) I do like the album because of the context. However, reputation is the most relatable to me when it comes to the simple lyrics, and since I understand the feeling in the songs it makes the album enjoyable. But I understand without this feeling present the album can be somewhat boring. (pretty similar to u with one of the weeknd albums I believe)
Okay but reputation is one of her most romantic albums i feel and that’s why I love it so much and how she portrays finding love throughout a dark time in her life
So when the thumbnail has a positive word with a question mark, its a negative review but when its a negative word, its a positive review. You're actually so smart with that LMAO
Maybe I'm one of few, but I adore reputation for 2 main reasons: 1. I'm a sucker for darker sounding productions 2. I'm a hopeless romantic and this is such a lovey-dovey album (except for like 3 songs) Also, the fact that Vigilante was in the track list rearrangement made me chuckle
Honestly, the context for LWYMMD makes me love the song. I love how direct she is at the beginning with the "i dont like you" lyrics and the whole context with the kim and kanye drama and then her going silent for years to come back with that song and the masterpiece that is the music video for it with all the symbolism and messages and stuff really make the song iconic for me. The song alone with no context is probably pretty underwhelming, but with the context i feel like it's such a badass moment in her career
I did not like Rep when it first came out, I thought it was bad. But here I am leaving a comment DEFENDING this album saying, give it another try because in time you'll come to like it. Plus seeing the high intensity energy it brings during the Eras Tour and checking out the Reputation karaoke version (yes it's a real thing go check it out!) it really helped in making me realize this thing kinda slaps.
Great video, again, I hope you get tickets 💜💜 Also, I think you’re totally right in saying that a lot of the swifties out there like this album a lot more because of the context, but I also think that there’s a relatable part to some of the more simple lyrics as well. Also, dancing with our hands tied is my second favorite on the album. I gasped when it was called a stinky song lol
lmao idk it's so basic and yea i mean i think thts cool tht they like it for tht but i personally will only like an album if i think the songs r good lol
Being a Taylor Swift fan since her country/pop days, I admittedly hated reputation when it came out. IMO a lot of pop songs around 2017 weren’t great either because they were dark and trap sounding. That’s one of the reasons why I didn’t like the album. Also, I agree with you about change. This was the music style I wasn’t ready for from Taylor. A year later, the album eventually grew on me (sort of). I now think it’s not that bad. Looking back at it, I appreciate the change and value the album had to her career.
As a rep girly (and speak now + folklore) I can’t say that my love for this album has nothing to do with the context. However I think that even without the context I would still love this album. Mostly because of three songs. Call it what you want, dress, and this is why we can’t have nice things First off call it what you want. This song is definitely one of my favorites, I love slower pace taylor songs and the way she sings in them. This song is first off just AMAZING. Like the production is perfect the way she speaks is so pretty and ughh the lyrics. I feel like this song represents a really happy moment in her life where it was just her and her lover away from her famous life. And it makes me so happy to hear and sing it Next dress. Dress is my favorite Taylor song of all time. It’s the perfect mix of slow and happy and pop. Also I relate to this song in so many ways so I was incredibly happy to hear a song that fits a time in my life and what im going through so perfectly; also the Ah Ah Ah Aaaa is so pretty it makes me wanna cry And lastly this is why we can’t have nice things. Though all my favorite songs for hers are slow pace and pretty this one is so fun to scream and again fits my life so well. A few months ago one of my best friends started being mean to me and my friends and listening to this song really helped me go through that terrible time. Even though we made up I still feel the need to listen to it sometimes it’s therapeutic for me. The lyrics match everything she’s done From the production to lyrics to the reliability to the background. This album means the world to me and that why I love it!!🪩🫶💕✨
Listen to rep multiple times, LWYMMD is a bop and it has a lot of metaphors about Kim, kanye and other things. The album is chaotic once you understand it, the album starts as wanting revenge and saying I’m back then going to her personal life and talking about her boyfriend joe( ex now) and being more love leading into lover. This album is a masterpiece listen to it again, and the songs have good lyrics too that are hidden.
ok, I LOVE REPUTATION delicate, don't blame me, dress, call it wha you want, dancing with our hands tied, all bangers i can't explain it, but i just love it for both the music and feeling/background
ok so i know you said that you don’t like dancing with our hands tied, but i would say you should give the acoustic version from the rep stadium tour a listen!! i also didn’t like the song but it’s sooo much better acoustically and now i love it (but exclusively listen to that version lmao)
here’s the thing. reputation for me is really split into two mini albums, the more edgy songs, and then the soft laid back songs. i personally love this album but i rarely ever listen to it in order all at once. i also don’t think it’s fair to compare any of her past albums to folklore and evermore because of how next level the writing is in those two
that's totally fair but i'm not even saying compared to folklore evermore i'm saying 1989 and lover like these songs are very shallow lyrically and im just not a personal fan
I don’t see anyone talking about how the album is separated into two halves (which can help explain your feeling of the lack of cohesiveness). The album starts with “…Ready for it” and from track 1 all the way to 7, “So it goes…” she embodies this persona that the media painted her as. It’s like she expanded on the narrative made in Blank Space made into multiple mini stories. After “So it Goes…” you may get ‘whiplashed’ because the music takes a turn - it’s a completely different concept now. In this half, Taylor talks about her personal life and what she had gone through in the last three years since releasing 1989. She talks about her newfound love & relationship with Joe.
The only song that is misplaced for this theory is “Delicate” at track 5 but she placed it there because it was her most vulnerable of the album. Otherwise, it should’ve gone later with her other more personal songs
I honestly think this album is a “you-had-to-be-there” moment. She disappeared for way too long, then she cleared her instagram and started posting in black and white.. a completely different take on her previous work. No one knew what to expect then Reputation dropped. Iconic
The reason why Gorgeous sounds like that is bc in an interview she said Gorgeous is song about meeting someone incredibly attractive and you just forget how to act and you’re just get awkward and weird because they’re so gorgeous
Commenting so the algorthim can help you. I love "look what you made me do", "endgame", "ready for it", "dont blame me", "gorgeous". "getway car" is fun.
This album is my second favorite from her, i really like the edginess from it. It's such a vibe for me. I can't believe you don't like " Dancing with our hands tied" but it's okay. My favorite songs are King of my heart and getaway car. Btw my favorite album is Folklore
I like Reputation because it meant so much to me when it came out. That being said, it has dropped way down in my ranking after Folklore, Evermore and Midnights. My favorites are: Don’t Blame Me, Dress, and New Years Day.
It's been a long time coming-by If u see the track list It starts with ...Ready for it? And ends with So it goes... The songs within those ... represent the true reputation!!! The other songs are from her for the fans
I agree with pretty much everything you said, but…Look what you made me do is camp if you look at it in context, haha (Also the experience of listening to rep really increased for me by watching the tour video) My faves from reputation are So it goes, getaway car and dress. I hope you’ll succeed in going to her concert!
Believe it or not, I love this album for the songs. Do not know much about her dramas with Ye at that time or romantic details of her life. Every songs have its moment.
I’d give reputation an 8/10. I’ve grown to love it more as I’ve been with it. It was just a cultural moment and so iconic. I respect that you don’t love it and I understand. Glad you enjoyed 5 songs though. My favorites are I did something bad, getaway car, dress, and call it what you want.
1. Dancing with our hand tied (her delivery in this is mesmerized & the bridge plus the tempo & subtle high-note made me fall in love over & over again. The repetative & simple, not basic -to me- production is so on point & addictive. One of the songs that I use to determine ppl's taste). 2. Don't blame me (no argumment, a 9 out of 10, but not on top unfortenately). 3. King of my heart (a light, up-beat ballad from her is always my charm. Been loving it seen her country days & still now). 4. Call it what you want (this is like a sister song to Dancing with our hand tied to me. There's just something so captivating about it. At first, I was not impressed, but somehow, time went by & I can't no longer get it out of my head). 5. So it goes (the only song on rep tour did not make the set list lol I love it, especially the chorus, & the bridge, the countdown, ughhhhh). 6. End game (I'm on the love-it side of this song, I think they have done their verses well, wish Future being less filter tho). 7. Getaway car (fan favorite but I do not put it in my top 5 since it is not too attached to me personally. But it is a good song fr, I blast it out all the time, rmb the whole lyrics while picturing myself driving even when I can't properly drive & hate driving deeply). 8. Ready for it (perfect opening, absolute bomb. Not a fan of the lyrics tho, too confusing). 9. Gorgeous (a good mood bringer when things go well in my relationship. So it is bias, can get why ppl do not like it tho, they r not getting the vibe lol). 10. Dress (her pause, and lyrics/words drops in this song r top-tier. "A golden tatoo" the first time I listend to it, I got chills lol it is not a swear, a bad word or any deep. But her musical genius had successfully captured me completely). 11. This is why we can have nice thing (another good mood bringer for me, everytime something bad happens I always have this in the playlist to blast my ears out. So I have some bias since it attachs to a lot of my personal dramas). 12. I did something bad (I only like her live version, the studio version? Not so much. It is solid to me, but can't compare to any of those above). 13. LWUMMD (I like this and had it on repeat when it got released (I was high-schooler at the time. But after listen to the whole album, plus my age just up & up, all the others just sound more superior to me).
The more time passes the more I’m convinced reputation is a you had to be there type of thing. Nobody looking at it now that wasn’t paying attention to everything back then can really get it and I don’t even know how to explain why
Honestly rep is a great album (in my opinion), with amazing songs, my favs are getaway car, gorgeous, call it what you want, and this is why we can't have nice things
One thing to consider is that this album was inspired heavily by Game of Thrones. Here is Taylor's explanation of this: "These songs were half based on what I was going through, but seeing them through a Game of Thrones filter. 'Look What You Made Me Do' is literally Arya Stark's kill list. 'King of My Heart' was influenced by Khal Drogo and Daenerys. It's even got this post-hook of drums - I wanted them to sound like Dothraki drums. "'I Did Something Bad' I wrote after Arya and Sansa conspire to kill Littlefinger. That and 'Look What You Made Me Do' are very Cersei vibes, too. Daenerys as well."
I think for me the reason why reputation is so important to me and my favorite album is yes it has the dark aspects, the main character energy and the feeling of just embracing darkness, for the first time in a long time, I was able to recognize a human emotion that women have been told for millennia not to experience. Women were always supposed to be innocent they were not supposed to sin. They couldn’t be angry, they had to stay pure and soft and nice meanwhile men could be angry, they could cheat, they could purchase land, and have power. Reputation to me is finally having a woman be in control of her power. She’s angry and she’s embracing it. She is doing what nobody wanted her to do and she was just pure power. And something about some of the repetition of look what you made me do, haven’t you ever been so mad that you keep repeating everything you’re saying?
Swifties are super protective of taylor and I get that people think it's crazy because she is the biggest artist, but it's been proven to us that our protectiveness is valid and much needed especially around rep era. Everyone hated on her, the media was ripping her apart, she was healing from all that sht + an eating disorder and found a lover that actually loved her
*it's her best album, and imo one of the best of all time* The era was iconic. LWYMMD is probably the most iconic comeback of the decade. The cover art alone is genius. The 2 sides being media's potrayal (right - darker side) and her real self (left - light side). And of course, the Reputation Stadium Tour. It's overhated and kinda underrated among the fans (ik a lot like it, but it deserves more). Now that the LWYMMD part came as i was writing this comment, imma be the one. *LWYMMD is among best on the album, and overall from her discography.* The production is amazing, especially on the pre-chorus. It's made to be a hit, it's made to be a lead single, it's made to be catchy, it's made to be distinctive and have a strong chara ter to it, it's made to be memorable, and it is. The lyrics are way more relatabale to me than any love song lol. It's an amazing song to dance and listen to, and not focus on lyrics. I kinda hate that people look into lyrics way too much... Reputation is not meant to be a lyrical masterpiece, that's why folklore and evermore exist. This is made to be a comeback, an era, and it did that even better than it should've. my ranking: #1 ...Ready For it? 10/10 #2 Look What You Made Me Do 10/10. #3 I Did Something Bad 10/10 #4 Dancing With Our Hands Tied 10/10 #5 Delicate 10/10 #6 Don't Blame Me 10/10 #7 King Of My Heart 10/10 #8 TIWWCHNT 10/10 #9 Getaway Car 9.6/10 #10 End Game 9.5/10 #11 So it Goes... 9.3/10 #12 Gorgeous 9.2/10 #13 Call it What You Want 9.1/10 #14 Dress 7.8/10 #15 New Year's Day 6/10 AVERAGE : 9.31/10 OVERALL : 99/100, if it wasn't for NYD, it'd be easy 100, if it grows enough it will be 100/100.
“Look what you made me do” live at eras tour is gonna have you EATING those words…. Now THAT *context* is gonna change your tune SO fast!! Lol it’s slayyyys 🔥 🐍
Play the album more then come back to us after a month. Reputation is a creeper. A lingerer. I hated it when it came out but then I got into the drama and started belting out every song
Hi :D I've been following your videos and waiting for this review! Honestly, I wasn't really into this album when I listened to it the first time. In fact, after Fearless, I kind of stopped listening to her because I didn't like the fact she was slowly turning into a pop sensation and preferred the country vibe. BUT, when Reputation came out, I re-discovered all of her album (in support of all the Kanye West Drama etc), and I really started to appreciate this album. I think the Reputation Stadium concert on Netflix changed my whole perspective of this album! The energy, the vibe, the way she embodies the songs.,... I would be really curious to hear your thoughts about the album after watcher the Stadium tour. :D Anyway, hope you get to see her!!!
Me, an asian: Jason being annoyed by loud traffic on finals week AND shooting a video at the same time is extremely ironic. He should be studying his ass out. (Resumes watching video) Also me: Oh, right, jason's asian. Lmao
She uses a lot of sound based storytelling in this album and I think we should all give that lots of credit! Ik you expect lyricism from taylor but a song is everything yk? This album is more of a feeler for me, idk its just cinematic and dramatic and dancey
Fun fact: the reason why gorgeous’s lyrics are so simplistic is because it’s written as if she’s drunk like when she met Joe (not saying you have to like it by any means but I hope this gives some explanation!)
I’m back! And these videos are always absolute bangers bro. I personally am a reputation fan, but I understand where you are coming from when you say you don’t like the voice change/key board thing in some songs. I also like your taste in this album! I felt the same way about the songs under the “okay” category at first, but if you listen to them a lot they become better every time you listen. I would probably rate this a 7 and my top 5 is.. 1. Ready for it…? 2. Call it what you want 3. So it goes… (this one is so underrated I cantttttt) 4. Delicate 5. Dress (THAT BRIDGE MAN)
Y'know I'm kinda biased when it comes to the rep era cus it was the first era that I went deep into the TS rabbit hole with investigating meaning behind the songs, finding the Easter eggs and watching live shows. Like, I felt I was a part of something, observing it in real time? Idk but it certainly enriched my experience with this album. Plus, I have a special type of fondness for an anti-hero (wink wink nudge nudge) overcoming obstacles storyline so there's also that. Top 5 from rep: 1. Dress 2. Getaway Car 3. Gorgeous (i really love the production of this one idk why) 4. Call it What you Want 5. Delicate
On the scale of 1/10, I'd give it an 8.5/10. For it is a grower, and stadium tour made everything better for this album. 🖤🤍 Now, favorite songs... - *the* DRESS (it's the bridge) - Getaway Car (duhhhh) - ...Ready for It? (It's a good opener, probably her best one for me) - Gorgeous (I'm that guy who likes cheesy and bland things, fight me) - Dancing With our Hands Tied (I like the album version because of the vocals, but I'm more into the acoustic version of the tour) The other fan-fave tracks like Don't Blame Me or I Did Something Bad, kinda the mid-tracks for me, maybe because they're just too much but I don't skip them, just not my faves.
i hate to agree.... but lyrically it is the weakest. But that's what makes Reputation so intriguing. The reason I fell in love with this album is because it was like a metaphor for my life. Sure i'm not top of my class and sure i am very unreliable when it comes to school stuff. but just like this album, I have other things that are a lot to offer. The context, the love, and the tour, plus the approach that Taylor chose to take. She's Clapping back, but she doing it in a way that feels like she's doing it for her self and not to be a rebellious angsty teen because it's cool. And Getaway Car is just simply a banger you can't deny . But your order of the songs actually makes sense.
I think this album has a special place in a lot of Swifties heart because we were there when she was getting canceled in 2016 and everyone thought her career is over and then she drop this album shocking the world and breaking every music records.
Hi, new subscriber here, you are really committed, you should see Reputation Stadium Tour, many of these songs are 10000000+ times better live. Also, as you said she always sings about what's happening in her life, and if the problem is that she changed the style so much as you said in an interview she said that in this album she had fallen from the image of the perfect American and good girl and she felt free
Rep is my #2 album😌😌(the other albums are creeping up on her though🫣) these are my song rankings: I Did Something Bad Getaway Car Dress Don’t Blame Me Delicate Gorgeous …Ready For It? So it Goes… New Year's Day Call it What You Want King Of My Heart Dancing With Our Hands Tied Look At What You Made Me Do This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things End Game
I developed an obsession with call it what you want at the age of 10 and I don’t even know why. I would literally play it over and over and over again on my moms amazon music account because I made her pay and download the entire album just so I could listen to that one song. I relistened recently after about 5 years. 6.5/10. It’s a fine song.
This is the type of album that you have to be there to understand it. The context of this album is when it was released, so I understand newbie couldn't relate that much to Rep.
I love most of the songs on reputation like banger after banger but I gotta say I wish lwymmd was closer to the live version, it hits HARD meanwhile I'd only listen to the studio version when I listen to the whole album.
when it came out i probably considered it my favorite album of hers, but now i don't vibe with it as much anymore. i'm more of a folklore and lover girlie! but my favorites on rep are still soooo underrated in her discography (dancing with our hands tied and so it goes)
You cant just assume swities just love this album because of its backstory...? Just because you don't like the album as a whole doesn't mean others don't. I, for myself, love It because of the songs, lyrics and production. It I also very relatable and personal. You don't get, and that's okay, but don't just assume the nobody will like the album because of what it is.
Look What U Made Me Do is ICONIC! You just have to be there in 2017 when she blackout her social media after 1 year of hiding slowly posting snake images shocking the world with this song and then the MUSIC VIDEO literally shut down all the haters and it create so many buzz around the album and get fans so excited for what she's going to say on the album it was a Marketing Genius PR move tbh.
I think the best defense of LWYMMD is actually it's use on the Eras tour. The performance is a refutation of the very concept of there being a number of distinct Taylors. It's one of the performances that is most... Essential to the "plot" of the Eras tour. And I do think that the show is very much written to have a plot. It's conveyed in the same way as a book of poetry or a mixtape... But there's a story she's telling the audience by the selection and performance of her previous work. It's a cool show.
In defense of lwymmd... It was a phenomenon. It got people's attention, the music video directly called out a lot of celebrities, and that was the moment when she fully embraced the whole snake thing. lwymmd wasn't for the fans, it was for the people who hated her. She said "you want a snake? I'll give you a snake." It isn't a good song, but it was a flawless pr move.
fair
exacly. The MV is easily her best (with OOTW)
yeah but it that is the thing
This song wouldn't be what it is without the music video
@@nimratmand3318 yeah but the song IS made for the Music Video and for the public.... Not to actually enjoy.... Even though I actually really like it....
It's an objectively good song from a musical standpoint, you just don't like it which is perfectly reasonable and in your right to do
If you end up getting enough money to make it to the Eras tour, I have a feeling you will be blown away by her live performances for that album. The energy she brings for it is ✨️immaculate✨️!
Lmao as if a non swiftie would have anywhere near the wherewithal to know HOW to get their hands on tickets let alone sell a kidney in time to be able to afford it lol
Watch her announce rep tv tonight because of this video
I love this
Hahah
frrrrr that would be awesome
Frr he is the one who predicts every tv now
frr
Lwymmd is a song where you had to be in the drama at the time. It might seem cringey for people listening to it now but in 2017 it was like the best comeback ever. I also have a lot of nostalgia for it, and it is one of my favorite songs in Taylor’s discography.
that makes sense
Also part of the reason why I love this album so much is because era itself was just amazing. The tour, the magazines, the poems, the making of the songs, the tour movie, rep room / secret sessions. I also just prefer the production on these songs over the production on some of her other albums. it gave flavor.
yea i totally get tht
And I am extremely excited, intrigued, interested for reputation (TV).
i love reputation so much, but i can definitely understand your criticisms of it. tbh it kinda gives me whiplash to listen to every song in order, plus the songs can be hit or miss. but when it hits it HITS. also i like the overall theme of finding love during a tumultuous time in your life

this is my favorite album because of a few things. production, story telling (weak in some songs), and my favorite, the way taylor swift tried to be edgy, but couldn’t because deep down she’s not that way. she tried so hard with the first 6 tracks, but then came through with her cute girl things. it shows that she’s still here. she’s still the cute country singer.
lol i like tht perspective

I think, the whole reputation album experience is not complete without hearing the reputation stadium tour versions of the songs. 😅
Omg we have the same favorite albums
Mine was rep, evermore and 1989
THOSE ARE MY TOP 3 ALSO
Definitely
mine are rep, evermore and midnights but your taste is ✨immaculate✨
Okay but reputation is one of her most romantic albums i feel and that’s why I love it so much and how she portrays finding love throughout a dark time in her life
i mean i guess lol
This the best description for reputation tbh
Honestly this era will always be iconic 🐍🖤
Bro dancing with our hands tied is one of the best songs on the album how can you not bop to that pre-chorus 😭
So when the thumbnail has a positive word with a question mark, its a negative review but when its a negative word, its a positive review. You're actually so smart with that LMAO
Maybe I'm one of few, but I adore reputation for 2 main reasons:
1. I'm a sucker for darker sounding productions
2. I'm a hopeless romantic and this is such a lovey-dovey album (except for like 3 songs)
Also, the fact that Vigilante was in the track list rearrangement made me chuckle
Fellow rep stan here!!! 🖤
Idk what people think I just love this album
The album is about falling in love in chaos so I think it makes sense the track order is chaotic
agree to disagree
Plus seeing the high intensity energy it brings during the Eras Tour and checking out the Reputation karaoke version (yes it's a real thing go check it out!) it really helped in making me realize this thing kinda slaps.
the best part of reputation is taylor being happy and healthy. my favorite song by a mile is getaway car but all songs are bops
@@jasonpaulkim I definitely see your point too :)
Valid. If you end up going to eras tour though I promise you're gonna be gagged by her Reputation performances. They were the most fun frfr
noted :)
Looking back at it, I appreciate the change and value the album had to her career.
yea i agree was not a fan of that era of pop music
As a rep girly (and speak now + folklore) I can’t say that my love for this album has nothing to do with the context. However I think that even without the context I would still love this album. Mostly because of three songs. Call it what you want, dress, and this is why we can’t have nice things
First off call it what you want. And it makes me so happy to hear and sing it
Next dress. Dress is my favorite Taylor song of all time. It’s the perfect mix of slow and happy and pop. Also I relate to this song in so many ways so I was incredibly happy to hear a song that fits a time in my life and what im going through so perfectly; also the Ah Ah Ah Aaaa is so pretty it makes me wanna cry
And lastly this is why we can’t have nice things. The lyrics match everything she’s done
From the production to lyrics to the reliability to the background.
This album is a masterpiece listen to it again, and the songs have good lyrics too that are hidden.
his version not having look what you made me do but having vigilante shit is so funny
Let’s get him to the eras tour!!
ok, I LOVE REPUTATION
delicate, don't blame me, dress, call it wha you want, dancing with our hands tied, all bangers
i can't explain it, but i just love it for both the music and feeling/background
that's totally fair lol
Finally reputation :D My favourite album tbh
ok so i know you said that you don’t like dancing with our hands tied, but i would say you should give the acoustic version from the rep stadium tour a listen!! i also didn’t like the song but it’s sooo much better acoustically and now i love it (but exclusively listen to that version lmao)
Superache (by Conan) + kid krow (by Conan) = PERFECTION.
here’s the thing. reputation for me is really split into two mini albums, the more edgy songs, and then the soft laid back songs. i personally love this album but i rarely ever listen to it in order all at once. i also don’t think it’s fair to compare any of her past albums to folklore and evermore because of how next level the writing is in those two
that's totally fair but i'm not even saying compared to folklore evermore i'm saying 1989 and lover like these songs are very shallow lyrically and im just not a personal fan
Otherwise, it should’ve gone later with her other more personal songs
i make tht point in the video lol
@@jasonpaulkim omg I’m so sorry! I misunderstood what you said in that part of the vid. my b!!
I honestly think this album is a “you-had-to-be-there” moment. She disappeared for way too long, then she cleared her instagram and started posting in black and white.. a completely different take on her previous work. No one knew what to expect then Reputation dropped. Iconic
omggg my favorite taylor era ❤
and King Of My Heart truly has my heart lol
7:39 bro threw vigilante shit into reputation
where it should be lol
@@jasonpaulkim dead.
The reason why Gorgeous sounds like that is bc in an interview she said Gorgeous is song about meeting someone incredibly attractive and you just forget how to act and you’re just get awkward and weird because they’re so gorgeous
yea i get that but it's still boring lyrics lol
Commenting so the algorthim can help you. I love "look what you made me do", "endgame", "ready for it", "dont blame me", "gorgeous". "getway car" is fun.
Delicate is great as well
I think rep comes alive as an album when you watch the tour.
fair enough
The fact that you added Vigilante Shit in the tracklist
This album is my second favorite from her, i really like the edginess from it. It's such a vibe for me. I can't believe you don't like " Dancing with our hands tied" but it's okay. My favorite songs are King of my heart and getaway car. Btw my favorite album is Folklore
I like Reputation because it meant so much to me when it came out. That being said, it has dropped way down in my ranking after Folklore, Evermore and Midnights.
My favorites are: Don’t Blame Me, Dress, and New Years Day.
It's been a long time coming-by
If u see the track list
It starts with ...Ready for it?
And ends with So it goes...
The songs within those ... represent the true reputation!!!
The other songs are from her for the fans
I agree with pretty much everything you said, but…Look what you made me do is camp if you look at it in context, haha
(Also the experience of listening to rep really increased for me by watching the tour video)
My faves from reputation are So it goes, getaway car and dress.
But after listen to the whole album, plus my age just up & up, all the others just sound more superior to me).
delicate and new years day found shot point blank in an alleyway (drinking champagne 'cause they were in paris)
@@j_0anna oh yeah right :))) I completely forgot about them.
This is why we can’t have nice things is my favorite song on the album and it hurts a little that you say it’s a song you don’t like 😭
He even removed Dancing With Our Hands Tied in his Jason's Version. damn.
The more time passes the more I’m convinced reputation is a you had to be there type of thing. Nobody looking at it now that wasn’t paying attention to everything back then can really get it and I don’t even know how to explain why
And this is my favorite Taylor swift album
Honestly rep is a great album (in my opinion), with amazing songs, my favs are getaway car, gorgeous, call it what you want, and this is why we can't have nice things
10:05 Do me a favor: Listen to the Rep Tour acoustic version of Dancing With Our Hands Tied. Then we can talk.
Daenerys as well."
the editing in these recent videos are getting better and better! niceee
Absolutely love rep..its my favourite album, folklore is a close second.. I have 0 skips on this album..I'm so freaking excited for Rep TV!!
i respect it
I think for me the reason why reputation is so important to me and my favorite album is yes it has the dark aspects, the main character energy and the feeling of just embracing darkness, for the first time in a long time, I was able to recognize a human emotion that women have been told for millennia not to experience.
Everyone hated on her, the media was ripping her apart, she was healing from all that sht + an eating disorder and found a lover that actually loved her
*it's her best album, and imo one of the best of all time*
The era was iconic.
This is made to be a comeback, an era, and it did that even better than it should've.
my ranking:
#1 ...Ready For it? 10/10
#2 Look What You Made Me Do 10/10.
#3 I Did Something Bad 10/10
#4 Dancing With Our Hands Tied 10/10

AVERAGE : 9.31/10

You speak the truth!!!
Fellow Rep stan here! I absolutely adore the album with all my heart even though it's just not a lyrical masterpiece, it's a cool album nonetheless...
@@franklinokonji9983 ikr
@@Animallover0055 exacly
But the chaos and 'hectic' in the track list is exactly what Taylor wanted because that is how her life was during the 2016-2017.
“Look what you made me do” live at eras tour is gonna have you EATING those words…. Now THAT *context* is gonna change your tune SO fast!! Lol it’s slayyyys 🔥 🐍
Reputation is rather Impeccable if i do say so myself
Getaway car, Dress, dancing with our hands tied King of My heart , so it goes are my jams
Love the outro!! and it's funny you included: "i dont like when Ed Sheeran raps" 😂😂
ty ty
as a rep stan, YOU HAD TO BE THEREE!!! it was insane and I love it sm
lol
Play the album more then come back to us after a month. Reputation is a creeper. A lingerer. I hated it when it came out but then I got into the drama and started belting out every song
i first listened to it in november lol idt my opinion will change
Clicked faster than I ever have.
(Resumes watching video)
Also me: Oh, right, jason's asian. Lmao
She uses a lot of sound based storytelling in this album and I think we should all give that lots of credit! Ik you expect lyricism from taylor but a song is everything yk? This album is more of a feeler for me, idk its just cinematic and dramatic and dancey
Yayyyy so excited to watch rhis
Also, in regards to concert tickets, they go down extremely low a few hours before the show starts so you could probably get tickets then!!
Fun fact: the reason why gorgeous’s lyrics are so simplistic is because it’s written as if she’s drunk like when she met Joe (not saying you have to like it by any means but I hope this gives some explanation!)
lol tht sounds like a reach
2. Call it what you want
3. So it goes… (this one is so underrated I cantttttt)
4. Delicate
5. Dress (THAT BRIDGE MAN)
valid 🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥
Y'know I'm kinda biased when it comes to the rep era cus it was the first era that I went deep into the TS rabbit hole with investigating meaning behind the songs, finding the Easter eggs and watching live shows. Like, I felt I was a part of something, observing it in real time? Idk but it certainly enriched my experience with this album. Plus, I have a special type of fondness for an anti-hero (wink wink nudge nudge) overcoming obstacles storyline so there's also that.
Top 5 from rep:
1. Dress
2. Getaway Car
3. Gorgeous (i really love the production of this one idk why)
4. Call it What you Want
5. Delicate
my top 5 rep songs:
1. getaway car
2. don't blame me
3. delicate
4. dancing with our hands tied
5. new year's day
On the scale of 1/10, I'd give it an 8.5/10. For it is a grower, and stadium tour made everything better for this album. 🖤🤍
Now, favorite songs...
- *the* DRESS (it's the bridge)
- Getaway Car (duhhhh)
- ...Ready for It? (It's a good opener, probably her best one for me)
- Gorgeous (I'm that guy who likes cheesy and bland things, fight me)
- Dancing With our Hands Tied (I like the album version because of the vocals, but I'm more into the acoustic version of the tour)
The other fan-fave tracks like Don't Blame Me or I Did Something Bad, kinda the mid-tracks for me, maybe because they're just too much but I don't skip them, just not my faves.
NOOOOOOOOOOO!WE DIDN'T GET A SWIFTIE'S WRITERS WORKSHOP!
i was gonna do one but the lyrics aren't that deep lol
i hate to agree.... but lyrically it is the weakest.
I really love the sound of this album (at the time it was avangard)…. Liking just so u can go to the Eras Tour! Hahaha
You put Vigilante Shit from Midnights in your “Reputation (Jason’s version)” playlist lol. Idk if it was a mistake but it honestly makes sense
I think this album has a special place in a lot of Swifties heart because we were there when she was getting canceled in 2016 and everyone thought her career is over and then she drop this album shocking the world and breaking every music records.
being a swiftie i approve that this is theeee most appropriate and honest review of album
(but still one of my favs 😅)
thank u :) and that's totally cool
"In defense of reputation...it should've been a LOT worse" LMFAO dude i lowkey agree 😬😬
right!!
Hi, new subscriber here, you are really committed, you should see Reputation Stadium Tour, many of these songs are 10000000+ times better live. Also, as you said she always sings about what's happening in her life, and if the problem is that she changed the style so much as you said in an interview she said that in this album she had fallen from the image of the perfect American and good girl and she felt free
omg i love the animations
Rep is my #2 album😌😌(the other albums are creeping up on her though🫣) these are my song rankings:
I Did Something Bad
Getaway Car
Dress
Don’t Blame Me
Delicate
Gorgeous
…Ready For It?
So it Goes…
New Year's Day
Call it What You Want
King Of My Heart
Dancing With Our Hands Tied
Look At What You Made Me Do
This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things
End Game
Oh ALSO I am NOT an end game hater, but I don’t get the same feeling I do with the other songs until Taylor’s part comes in.
babe wake up jasonpaulkim made another taylor swift album review
I developed an obsession with call it what you want at the age of 10 and I don’t even know why. I would literally play it over and over and over again on my moms amazon music account because I made her pay and download the entire album just so I could listen to that one song. I relistened recently after about 5 years. 6.5/10. It’s a fine song.
I love "Vigilante Shit" in Reputation (Jason's Version), hahahahahha 😊
lol
I’m going to the tour today and it’s going to be a…RAIN SHOWWWW
let's gooooooo
gotta support the eras tour fund🫡
thank u 🫡
0:05 Ooh PRODUCTION VALUE!
lmao
Why does Reputation need a defense. It’s the BEST tour she’s ever had, and it’s the best of her first 6 albums for SURE
agree to disagree lol
I LOVE REPUTATION
'its Finals week, why are you driving around?' is a big ass mood
It's a cool show.
lol
