From creator Michael Schur (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Master of None”) comes a unique comedy about what makes a good person. The show follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, “House of Lies,” “Veronica Mars”), an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife, and thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place (which is definitely where she belongs). These writers are brilliant, so i think they had it planned, just when you think you got this show figure out, they surprise you with a new loop

There were not many lines that Tehani had in this episode, but those she had were so perfectly quintessentially her. "Michael, Eleanor, it is I, Tehani"

I can't stop laughing at how seriously Manny delivered that, " I won't let you down" line, when all she wants him to do is stay out of the way.
it shows so much character development that eleanor went from "shamelessly steal all the shrimp" selfish, to stepping into the leadership role so effectively.

The worst part is that Simone has obviously somehow died within the last month/year/Jeremy Bearimy and I don’t want that to have happened :’(

@Jim B They aren't cancelling the show. Season 4 is the last season by design. They let everyone know in Season 2 there would only be 4 seasons because they wanted the show to have a definite ending point and not drag on and lose its essence like some shows do by going too long. The story will have an actual ending, planned since the beginning.
This is the final season, and the ending will be good. It might end sadly, chili and Eleanor might never get together. It could go anywhere at this point
I have a horrible feeling that the show ends with them all in Hell. This feels like too much to overcome.

Simone was chosen to stir up Chidi and Eleanor’s relationship, and John was chosen to bring Tahani back to her old shallow self. I predict the other two subjects will be either Donkey Doug, Pill-Boi, Eleanor’s mom, or Doug Forcett.

I personally think he saw future outcomes, that's why he's ok with the reboot knowing that he and Eleanor will find their way back to each other eventually. Maybe even told Eleanor (and maybe Michael) about it. Remember Eleanor freaked out because she was so happy, but she seems at peace with this decision.

Looking back at it: the bigger issue would have not been the Chidi dynamic with Simone. It would have been the fact that she already knew that Eleanor had been a human on earth and was not a good place architect. Eleanor had already begun playing the role of architect by this point

Good question, but I'm confident the writers have something special in mind. Whoever they are, they're really doing a great job at keeping us on our toes. Like maybe, they are all wrong about who is really torturing who. Maybe Chidi's ex really tortures Eleanor? That one guy is already torturing Jason. 🤔 Love this show!

I honestly love lesbian ships, I crave them to be fully honest, but you gotta admit Eleanor and Chidi are amazing together :') I respect people who ship Tahani and Eleanor, I mean she's cannonly bi so it's understandable that the fandom is going wild.. but them being togheter wouldn't , in my opinion, be as interesting as seeing the human turtleneck everyone relates to and the Arizona trashbag improve each other and have the most adorably cliché romance you've ever seen

so...is it just me or did he somehow manage to steal the entire scene despite having just one line? also, i can't be the only one wondering how she died and it seems like so many people in this universe die at a relatively young age. it makes you wonder if there's something else going on
There was a simple solution to Chidis problem, he once used a philosophy before falling for Eleanor, he said the Chidi from the other timelines wasn't himself but a different Chidi, same can work here, Chidis ex wouldn't be the same ex from before cuz her memory would be gone,

What not just reboot everyone again? I mean level playing field right . .. also this episode makes Chidi out to be really emotionally weak.. I mean his main character flaw before was indecisiveness. So doesn't he know that he's been with each woman and can remember them separately. Like everyone on Earth has had to deal with an uncomfortable ex-girlfriend. I guess that it's weird for the idea of an Eleanor + Chidi romance but hasn't he developed any type of back bone by this point...
He's a terrible liar as well, so probably (definitely) would mess up somehow
