Your voice is lovely. I'm just waiting for the next "Styling Everything I've Sewn" video because I love your lookbooks and have so much fun watching them.
Oh and I am a sucker for the vintage machine! I have 4. A 1940's treadle, 1950 301, a 403a made the year I was born -1958- all Singers and a 1940-50's Elna which is not the best machine but it is exactly what my mother had and on which she taught me to sew. I use the 301 a lot and am picking up the 403a this weekend. It will be used for my new purse making obsession cuz it can sew leather.
"We're going to extend October indefinitely". Our October where I live was unbelievably unseasonably hot. We basically didn't get a fall. Half way through November it just suddenly got cold, rained, and that took all the tree leaves off. It was very sad. Feels like we didn't really have a September or October. And Im so stressed about getting Christmas presents taken care of (cant afford to buy anything decent so Im making everything) that I'm not enjoying Christmas either. I actually put this on in the hope it will inspire me to pick up the one project I dropped a few days ago cause it had me so upset. I need to get this done but everything in me doesn't want to. I own, and constantly wear, a number of dresses with this style of arm/sleeve ranging from wrist length up to elbow length. They are incredibly comfortable and if you are larger across the chest area also give you a decent amount of room without pulling tightly as so many other styles do. I can't recommend this style highly enough.

I love your voice! I find it kind of soothing. I've made two dresses so far (I'm very much a novice sewer). I feel like I learned a lot just from watching you without even actually doing much sewing LOL I found the pattern instructions more confusing than trying to just figure things out on my own but I suspect that also might be me and my adhd brain. Sorry you have been ill. It sucks, I know having been sick myself. You still manage to entertain and do a great job. Thank you for all you do, you have saved my sanity these past 2 years and it has been very heart warming going along your journey with you. Sharing your highs and lows. You are cute and I love your personality which shines through every visit. Thank you.
1. Your spider brooches(?) in the beginning and end narration are to die for. 2. Your voice one of the best narrating voices I keep on in the background when I sew, this video was no different! 3. I often find gathered rectangle skirts to be boring especially on me but yours-- with the care you took to make the gathers uniform and the swishy fabric, make the gathered skirt look quietly elegant! Great video as always.
I enjoy your videos and I can't even sew. I am learning on my mom's old machine from the 80s. My first project is to "make" a table cloth...basically, hem a big rectangle of the prettiest artic white damask fabric. I want to use it on our Christmas dinner table, but sewing perfectly straight is not coming naturally to me just yet. The dress is gorgeous, the colour is lush and super versatile. Hope you are feeling better!
The biggest thing I learned about sewing in a straight line was to stop watching the needle. It’s going to go up and down no matter what. Watch where you’re feeding your fabric. I still catch myself watching the needle every once in a while!
I like the gathered skirt! I can see that it's a departure from the shapes you usually wear. But it's very clear that any poofiness at the hips is the fabric and not you. It just looks cozy and more relaxed than usual! Thanks for putting up with floopy fabric, because the result is stunning!
The gathered skirt is a gorgeous detail. Belted the way you have accentuates the 40’s silhouette and the floppy fabric is just right for the gathers. Beautiful!
Hi, Bianca, from Aberdeen, Scotland - I love your channel. What a great idea to leave a flat portion at the front - my tummy does not need enlarging with gathers! I think I would make a dropped waist (with amendments to the bodice) because my hips are only two inches larger than my waist. For gathers I use my old Singer Ruffler on my ancient Husqvarna. It takes some practice to get it right, but it’s time well spent to be able to do perfect gathering, especially if you have daughters or granddaughters to sew for. By the way, I made three of your “one hour” 1920’s dresses, with amendments for my body shape. First one took me three days 🤣 - not three entire days, obviously, but I do use all French seams and all hand stitched hems - I think you could actually sew it in one hour from when it was cut out. I shall be using your little V cutout neck as, like you, I don’t do low necks and prefer binding to facing necklines, and the V adds interest as well as the feature stitching. Could also use two rows of twin needle stitching. Thank you - get well soon. 🥰
Hi, Are you me? Well. with much more sewing experience of course. And being from Scotland too because I'm from Sweden. I'm new to sewing but have procured an ancient Husqvarna and I've been thinking of trying my hand at a 1-hour dress, and have hips that are just slightly larger than my hips and both just a bit smaller than my bust. I'm also eyeing a ruffler. Nice to have made your acquaintance. Yours, Ann
Thank you Elayjay! 💚 I'm glad you've been enjoying experimenting with the one hour dress, there are the perfect simple design for a special textile I always think ✨
No worries about your voice. If everyone was the sane and did the same, we'd have died out a long time ago. The flat front in the gathered skirt works really well and prevents a wide waist and hip look. Very flattering. It might even work on my rectangle figure.
I like the gathering. It gives the look more femininity and does not add too much bulk with such a floopy fabric. I love the topstitching detail at the neckline. The biggest plus for me is that it looks super comfortable yet very elegant at the same time. Your voice is quite pleasant to listen to, but more than that you have a good cadence to your speech that reminds me of actresses of the '40s and '50s. Thanks for another great video!
I've watched this several times and I love it more each time. I like your long videos. I find them informative and many times make me smile. You look beautiful in this. We are all hard on ourselves but you need to be more forgiving to YOU. You are pretty, delightfully entertaining and very talented. I'm 76 and when I grow up I want to be like you. Keep up this enchanting channel, hope to see your books some day out there.
I love your voice sick or no! Also I can see why you prefer not to have a gathered skirt. You tend to favor smoother more tailored lines and that waist very much, BAM! My hips are here! Curvy hips! Get your curvy hips! Right Here! (carnival hawker voice) but it is still lovely and I love the way the fabric moves.
I'm pretty self-conscious about my waist, being of a certain age. However, the gathered skirt actually looks good, especially with that cute belt! I love the color on you as well.
I really have to wonder about people. I like your voice, colds, neighborhood construction, and all. This is so well timed, I want to congratulate you on the multiple recommendations in Lady Rebecca's comment section. And LOOK at your numbers!!! WOW! As for this video, I have more than a few patterns with this kind of sleeve, and I have lengthened (and widened) them very much like you have shown, and you answered a question. I noticed that the front and back sleeve pieces are very much not the same, and that this is increasingly noticeable the longer the sleeve gets. Thought it was me doing something wrong, or weird. I have two different dresses (Prominent Designer A879 and McCall's 3229) in the pile that I need to lengthen the sleeves on. I will walk the underarm seams on these, and the difference between front and back (for chestle reasons) totally explains why one is increasingly smaller than the other. The gathering looked fine. But it's that little whiney voice in your head that goes "Yeeaahhh, but" that will keep you from reaching for this dress. Which would be a shame. It looks very trouble-maker-but-they-still-let-her-in. A wiggle skirt to this or -- (ooooo!) a floor length straight skirt (Very 1930s Joan Crawford,) and they may not let your devious derriere in the door. VERY USEFUL VIDEO! Thank you!
That is so like a dress I had when I was teenager (early 70s) and I have to make it now you have shown how to do the sleeves. You look great in that skirt style - it's just a little more casual/loose than your normal look but trust me it really does suit you.
I'm sure I'm not the only one... But your goopy voice and your general banter is so pleasant to listen to. Adore the personality oozing out of every .... "Ya know? Well..." Hehe
Lovely, elegant dress. Forest green is such an underutilized color. It can function as a nuetral and looks good for a variety of complexions. I'm always amazed by your dart manipulation magic.
I am HERE for extending Halloween indefinitely! I also often sew over pins, you're really not the only one :). Also, if you think your voice is bad in this video (it's not btw) you should hear me in my holiday card painting video (I had an asthma infection) :')
Everything you do is magic Bianca, whether or not it's been recorded. I always enjoy your videos and another great dress! And now if you'll excuse me, I have to go make this dress! 🤩👗
Every time I sew over my pins I hear my great-grandmother's voice in my head chastising me for it..... Oddly if anything that motivates me to sew over them more since it's nice to have my brain bring back memories of her 😆 I'm sure she'd roll her eyes at me now knowing that her attempts at making me have "good habits" has resulted in the exact opposite because of sentimentality. Incidentally I suspect my love of fussy fabrics (despite always crying in anguish at least twice during projects with them) probably has the something to do with being able to recall her voice telling me her mystical ways of making them all behave to her will as though they were nothing more than cotton broadcloth. Also I'm not sure who has a problem with your voice but they're crazy. I watch your videos all the time specifically to hear you. I already know how to do all this stuff thanks to (as mentioned above) my late great-grandmother and my own mother, I'm literally here to hear you talk about it because it's nice to listen to. Parasocial relationships are funny like that, it's just nice to hear someone's lovely, familiar voice that sounds like a friend speak about stuff you love to do with the same enthusiasm and then enjoy the reveal of their beautifully designed piece. Unrelated, but I wish Colourpop would bring back Dr. M, I have a few dupes of it, but $6 for a blackened teal-green liquid lippie is damn hard to beat.
Thank you! I think I still have one back up of Dr M from when I caught it on sale, but they have also discontinued all of my favorite reds from them, so they are just on my naughty list in general these days 😅 I have just tried Blackmoon lipsticks and I like them so far, I hope they restock their weird olive green shade www.blackmooncosmetics.com/products/hazel
@@TheClosetHistorian LOVE Blackmoon! I too, am waiting for Hazel to come back in stock, I just want that lovely grungy green! My favorites that I do have are Sanguis, Purgatory, Myth, and Murmaider (which I bought a couple of Murmaiders half-joking for myself and for my friend because of the Metalocalypse reference but I'm glad I did because it's such a nice formula for a metallic!)
I actually have a true vintage top with sleeves like this, but in a crisper fabric. This is reminding me that I need to get around to fixing/resizing it so it's wearable again.
I always feel "richer" after I watch one of your videos, I don't know how to express this better, but it really is one of the best feelings... All I can say is it has more substance in my soul than a paycheck (although I don't mind paychecks every once in a while...) Thank you for sharing your knowledge Bianca, and also, I have to say that I love your humour ! In french we'd say you have a "pince-sans-rire" humour (literally means "pinches without laughing" humour) and I love it hahahaha ! Take care 🤗
I adore the cut of this dress 💚. Granddaughter and I agree. Keep Halloween. She is 3 and this was the first year she actually "got" and enjoyed Halloween. She was allowed to attend an outdoor Harvest Festival and Trick Or Treating and I made her a Poppy Troll Costume. The struggle was the wig!! A year ago, my Aunt picked up a McCalls pattern, size 2-5 Toddler, for 50 cents at a fabric shop. Typically, I enlarge patterns using freezer paper. Of course, lol, I ran out. Newspaper will work but not for lighter fabrics. (I learned the hard way that newspaper ink transfers on light fabric) Anyway, I really like the pattern, construction and sewing instructions. It's one of the best patterns I have for her. So worth the time and effort to size it up. It's very interesting that patterns run small for/in toddler sizing too?? I hope you feel better soon. I can understand your question about a gathered waistline. I avoid a gathered waist when purchasing readymade clothing. My area of concern is my tummy. Camouflage the tummy! My most flattering silhouettes are those with exaggerated waistlines. I think that your choice in fabric did not add bulk to the waistline and looks nice on your body type. Very nice dress! You look beautiful 👍
I am also wary of gathered skirts, because I am short waisted but generous of hip, so the floof can make my waist disappear entirely. Since this fabric is so fine, though, I think it ends up looking great! I'll have to keep that in mind. Oh, and I am definitely on team "your voice is soothing" and phooey on anyone rude enough to criticize.
I think the gathered skirt really works with this drapey fabric, it gives a nice echo to the fall of the sleeves. I love how the darts worked too, I don't think I've seen darts sewn in that position before, but it really gave the perfect shape to the bodice. I really enjoy how you talk through your process, it validates so much of my own thoughts when I'm working on a project, and correcting as I go.
Lovely! Such beautiful fabric, and love the little deco detail on the neckline! I do love your voice. I find it very soothing! Hope you're feeling better!
This turned out fabulous! You sound totally normal to me and I love your voice. I have learned so much from your videos and come back to your lapped zipper video regularly. One day (when I have space) I will actually follow your tutorials for block patterns.
Thank you for putting out such a lovely product when we know that you are not feeling your best. Please keep taking good care of yourself. Celestial Seasons makes a great tea called Jamming Ginger tea. I have been using a bag stuffed with parched corn which can be nuked for a minute. I place it on my sinuses. I didn't realize how much my face hurt until the heat made it go away. I plan on getting some more rest by going to bed a little early. I hope that you feel much better very soon! The dress is, of course, divine ! Blessings on you and your family and friends and any livestock you might have wandering around the house and yard.
Thank you Mary! The Celestial Seasonings factory normally offer tours here in Colorado, so I have been a few times and the INSTENSITY of the room they keep the mint in is unforgettable 😂
Thanks for this sleeve I have often wandered what a long sleeve version of the all in one sleeve and I don't think you are strange I find your videos very easy to follow the dress looks really great
I think I need to make this one. You mention that it's not exactly your style with the gathered skirt but everything about this is my style, so thank you for making it anyway!
I got a 1927 Singer 99 last year and I'm also totally in love and never want to use anything else for straight stitching, so I totally understand that feeling!
I agree with you Rebecca I love 💗 her voice too and the dress is beautiful on her I love the color too very flattering love love it closet historian you inspire me to draft and sew my own clothes ty for that
I love your explanation of what you’re doing. You’re a little quicker than my slow, “I want to learn this well” brain, but that just means I watch more than once and you get more watch time. 😉 (Gotta love RUclips).
My latest favorite health trick (because it worked for me) is to gargle with Listerine mouthwash for 30 seconds, three times a day. Truthfully, I used it half strength (mixed with water) because I practically suffocated myself the first time with full strength . . . BUT I’m not coughing, and the grandkids are! Thanks for a great video. Your dress looks fabulous.
I love that style!!! and the gathers look really classy, especially since you kept the center flat. and your voice, whether "gloopy and raspy" or not, is quite lovely to relax/sew along to!
I'm so excited, I tried the all-in-one a few weeks ago and had success which has opened up a whole new world of possibilities... except for long sleeves, which I could not figure out! You are a GIFT, thank you!!
Wow - I love everything about this dress, including the skirt! I think it's a very flattering style, and the skirt's fullness really complements the sleeves. Also anyone who cracks on your lovely voice needs to get their hearing checked.
Most of my Christmas decorations are actually Halloween decorations. The first year my own place, when my sister came over for Christmas she won't ed to know when I was putting my Halloween things away. My husband just smiled and said those are the Christmas decorations. So you are not alone. Wonderful video.
I like the gathers on the skirt, it complements the draping of the top. Your voice is lovely and you sound much better than you think you do. I hope you're back to full health now. Written with love and kindness xo
Team vintage machines here too. In live with my 201k from the same decade as yours! I love this dress and the colour is amazing too! I hope you feel better fully soon too lovely xxx
I've been inspired to learn to sew and I'm looking at these all-in-one sleeves thinking just how much easier they'd be to try than easing sleeves into arm holes and then seam finishing and blah blah blah. Plus maximum comfort hello.
The other day the arc in Broomfield on 120th had a couple of bags of vintage metal zippers, in case you feel like taking a drive to replenish your stash.
Your machine is about the era of my mother's that I learned to sew on. It had what was described as a zipper foot that looks like yours. I hated sewing on that clunky old thing, but my mother-in-law's machine that was made only a few years later sews like a dream.
As always when I'm not feeling well, physically or otherwise, I'm extra happy that you and your channel exist, because watching your videos always makes me feel better! Love the fabric of the dress and I like the simplicity of cut :)
What a great dress...the skirt looks great on you. I recently put in a zipper as you do and it was so easy! You make drafting your own patterns look so easy definitely going to have to try this one!
I ADORE watching you manipulate patterns. As soon as I figure out how to add a dart in the first place, I need to try moving them around like you do!! For now though, I (with LOTS of help from a friend who knows a thing or ten about tailoring) I at least have a princess seam bodice block for my brick-with-boobs shaped torso. And I had to manipulate changed curved seams so they still match up, and didn't do a terrible job at it, so I've made a lining, outer shell interfaced with cotton twill (Ikea curtains) and am now working on an interlining from an old wool horse blanket, so that's four times I've cut and assembled most of this pattern out now... I kind of feel invincible, actually. Endless possibilities with this... if I can ever figure out how to do curved seams on the machine. For now I'm just enjoying the hand sewing. It keeps the screaming inside. I think arguing with the floopiness was worth it for this one! Love how it came out. I suspect I know what you mean about gathered vs darted or circle skirts though. I guess it makes the hips look more full than they perhaps are? I of course have no hips, so need all the help I can get with them, it's bulk at the waist that makes me look like a potato and why gathered skirts need to where my pants waistband is rather than my "naturla waist (which of course is above the bottom of my ribcage and not at all flattering to have any kind of bulk there, but I'm learning how to accommodate for that in patterns with waist seams, put the seam somewhere between natural waist and waistband and just dart or tuck at the "natural" waist.
Would definitely agree that for those of us of the hourglass persuasion, a full skirt which is smooth at the waist (instead of gathered rectangles) is more flattering :)
Oooh I love the green!! I think the skirt looks great on you but I understand being more comfortable with certain styles over others. Overall I think the dress is absolutely beautiful! 💚
I love long kimono sleeves but prefer them to be more fitted around the armhole, as opposed to the batwing effect. However, that can mean you have to master the dreaded gusset! I am convinced that you are the only person who could execute and demonstrate one of those bad boys. God knows I have tried to follow the instructions for gussets, but they always wind up looking like a dog's dinner, and an otherwise wearable garment ends up at the bottom of the losers pile.
Hi Bianca. The gathered waist does suit you well, and results in a very comfortable dress to wear I would imagine. I drafted the sleeveless block following you own video instructions and it has turned out just right. Hope you get well soon
I love this dress it looks great on you. I do love your look books. Hope you will feel better soon. Take care of yourself and stay healthy. Have a nice fall.
It's always such an education to watch you make clothes. I think the skirt looks lovely on you, but my eye also looks for the flare that isn't there. So I agree with you because I think a flare would look better period. Something about how it continues the line from the cinch above the hips rather than just hangs straight after the curve.
I think the skirt of this dress is beautiful! You always look beautifully put together in these videos and I hae learned a great deal from watching them. Nice to see something simple as I am an intermediate sewist at best.
I LOVE your voice. Sick or not. It's more than just your voice though, it's how you speak, the way you describe things, it draws me in and puts me at ease.
This fabric is absolutely stunning, I love how this dress came out. I think the gathering suits the cozy feel and an added belt brings it together! :)
I was going to say the same thing.
I completely agree! Bianca is so witty! Her husky voice made her sound like a Noir Radio character : )
Thank you. I feel the same but was at a loss on how to put it.
Sexy phlegm!
Thank you Rebecca ❤

The biggest thing I learned about sewing in a straight line was to stop watching the needle. It’s going to go up and down no matter what. Watch where you’re feeding your fabric. I still catch myself watching the needle every once in a while!
Thank you Lèlani! Practice will help, and you'll be stitching with confidence in no time! ❤
It looks amazing. I actually love how the skirt falls💚
Thank you May-Helen!
I like the gathered skirt! I can see that it's a departure from the shapes you usually wear. But it's very clear that any poofiness at the hips is the fabric and not you. It just looks cozy and more relaxed than usual! Thanks for putting up with floopy fabric, because the result is stunning!
Thank you Ingrid!
Sweat friendly sophisticated dress??! Yes please!!!
The gathered skirt is a gorgeous detail. Belted the way you have accentuates the 40’s silhouette and the floppy fabric is just right for the gathers. Beautiful!
Thank you Tisha!
I like this style on you. Your voice sounds just fine. Kind of soothing. Not monotone and boring.
Thank you Kimberly!
This dress is stunning!! The colour, the neckline, the floop, the sleeves! It's just so pretty!!!
Thank you!! 😊❤
Thank you! I wish I had the access to those 40s actresses wardrobe departments...
I love this sleeve style and I love the pattern drafting presentations you do! Thank you ♥
Thank you Raini!
The dress turned out beautiful and the color, my favorite, is so perfect for the season. I hope you feel better so get well soon.
Thank you! 💚
@@TheClosetHistorian, You're welcome and Happy Thanksgiving!
Your sense of humor destroys me! I enjoy your videos so much - including your distinctive and elegant voice!
Thank you Roxie!
Thank you Linda ❤
I love your voice sick or no! Also I can see why you prefer not to have a gathered skirt. You tend to favor smoother more tailored lines and that waist very much, BAM! My hips are here! Curvy hips! Get your curvy hips! Right Here! (carnival hawker voice) but it is still lovely and I love the way the fabric moves.
Thank you! This will be my less BAM dress for cozier days 😂
I'm pretty self-conscious about my waist, being of a certain age. However, the gathered skirt actually looks good, especially with that cute belt! I love the color on you as well.
Thank you Carole!
Thank you!
Thank you Michelle! ❤
That is so like a dress I had when I was teenager (early 70s) and I have to make it now you have shown how to do the sleeves. You look great in that skirt style - it's just a little more casual/loose than your normal look but trust me it really does suit you.
Thank you Mandy!
I'm sure I'm not the only one... But your goopy voice and your general banter is so pleasant to listen to. Adore the personality oozing out of every .... "Ya know? Well..." Hehe
Thank you 😅❤
A lovely video as usual, the dress looks stunning on you and your voice is great too. Get better soon, best wishes, Heather x
+1
Thank you Heather!
Damn, that green lipstick 😍 Looks great on you!
Ah, and the matching of gold accessories with the blonde streak in the hair! So cool!
Thank you! I wish there were more options of green lipstick out there 😂💚
I have the same sewing machine as you! I love that dang thing
Lovely, elegant dress. Forest green is such an underutilized color. It can function as a nuetral and looks good for a variety of complexions. I'm always amazed by your dart manipulation magic.
Thank you! I loooove forest green!
Thank you Kathryn!
Take care 🤗
Thank you Pauline! ❤
Thank you Sinndy!
I was just thinking about a batwing!
Thank you April! 💚
Thank you Kat! 🧵
I never wear gathered skirts but I think you look great in this dress and it’s super pretty
Thank you!
I fully refuse to get over this dress. I need 10
I'm happy that you're wearing this beautiful dress with the American Duchess/Royal Vintage green Marilyn shoes.
The color is nearly a perfect match!
Lovely! Such beautiful fabric, and love the little deco detail on the neckline! I do love your voice. I find it very soothing! Hope you're feeling better!
Thank you Amy!
This turned out fabulous! You sound totally normal to me and I love your voice. I have learned so much from your videos and come back to your lapped zipper video regularly. One day (when I have space) I will actually follow your tutorials for block patterns.
Thank you Jennifer! ❤
I find that laying things out on the floor helps a lot.
Gathered skirts look great on you! I love that color, too!
Thank you Kymberly!
I think the gathered skirt looks quite flattering on you! And listening to your voice is quite soothing. Don't let the haters get you down!
Thank you Emily!
Thanks for this sleeve I have often wandered what a long sleeve version of the all in one sleeve and I don't think you are strange I find your videos very easy to follow the dress looks really great
Thank you Trudi!
Beautiful! Love the colour 💚💚💚💚 hope you're feeling better soon! Xxx
Thank you Ailsa!
I love to hear your voice, it`s really rich and soothing. Amazing dress!
Thank you Iara!
I think I need to make this one. You mention that it's not exactly your style with the gathered skirt but everything about this is my style, so thank you for making it anyway!
Love how this came off as a gorgeous Deco Bride of Frankenstein kind of look. Very Chic Halloween!
Thank you! All Halloween all the time over here 😂
I got a 1927 Singer 99 last year and I'm also totally in love and never want to use anything else for straight stitching, so I totally understand that feeling!
I love the bottom of the skirt as well as the top and think you pull it off wonderfully! Also your voice is very soothing and sweet sounding to me ❤
Thank you Kira!
I agree with you Rebecca I love 💗 her voice too and the dress is beautiful on her I love the color too very flattering love love it closet historian you inspire me to draft and sew my own clothes ty for that
Thank you Linda!
You’re construction while sick equals mine on my best day 😂. Love your videos! I always learn a lot! Xoxoxo
Thank you!
What the actual?? I love your voice, even now it’s hard to tell you’ve been unwell! Great voice, beautiful tone… and I’m a singer!
Thank you Miss Wendy!
I love your explanation of what you’re doing. You’re a little quicker than my slow, “I want to learn this well” brain, but that just means I watch more than once and you get more watch time. 😉 (Gotta love RUclips).
Thank you Cherisse! You can slow me down in the settings too if you want but I'll sound a little drunk then 😂
My latest favorite health trick (because it worked for me) is to gargle with Listerine mouthwash for 30 seconds, three times a day. Truthfully, I used it half strength (mixed with water) because I practically suffocated myself the first time with full strength . . . BUT I’m not coughing, and the grandkids are!
Thanks for a great video. Your dress looks fabulous.
Thank you Mickey!
I love that style!!! and the gathers look really classy, especially since you kept the center flat.
and your voice, whether "gloopy and raspy" or not, is quite lovely to relax/sew along to!
Thank you Erica!
I'm so excited, I tried the all-in-one a few weeks ago and had success which has opened up a whole new world of possibilities... except for long sleeves, which I could not figure out! You are a GIFT, thank you!!
I'm glad you have been enjoying the all-in-one! 🧵✨
You look good 👍. But I do agree on the skirt. It would look more crisp or flattering with a pencil skirt. But you still look beautiful 😻
Thank you Charlotte!
Wow - I love everything about this dress, including the skirt! I think it's a very flattering style, and the skirt's fullness really complements the sleeves. Also anyone who cracks on your lovely voice needs to get their hearing checked.
Thank you Kathy! ❤😂
Love this so much! With your hair the way it's dyed and your makeup, this look gives me the most beautiful bride of Frankenstein vibes 😍
Thank you! 🕸🖤
Most of my Christmas decorations are actually Halloween decorations. The first year my own place, when my sister came over for Christmas she won't ed to know when I was putting my Halloween things away. My husband just smiled and said those are the Christmas decorations. So you are not alone. Wonderful video.
Sounds like you've got the right idea! 🎃 Thank you!
I like the gathers on the skirt, it complements the draping of the top.
Your voice is lovely and you sound much better than you think you do. I hope you're back to full health now.
Written with love and kindness xo
Thank you Dawn ❤
I love that colour and you suit it so well, especially the matching lipstick 💚
Thank you Ollie! I just had to go full matchy matchy with the lipstick 💚
Team vintage machines here too. In live with my 201k from the same decade as yours! I love this dress and the colour is amazing too! I hope you feel better fully soon too lovely xxx
Thank you! 💚
You are a superstar. The dress looks amazing on you.
Thank you!!
I've been inspired to learn to sew and I'm looking at these all-in-one sleeves thinking just how much easier they'd be to try than easing sleeves into arm holes and then seam finishing and blah blah blah. Plus maximum comfort hello.
Very feminine and very flattering! I like the gathered skirt on you in this dress! Great color and design.
Cathy from Alabama 🥰🥰
Thank you Cathy!
I love this! Your new video uploads are the highlight of my week! Some days I’m like shoot it’s only Wednesday! Haha
Thank you Barbie! This makes me sorry I'll be uploading on Friday this next week instead...but I promise it is for a good reason 😂🖤
The other day the arc in Broomfield on 120th had a couple of bags of vintage metal zippers, in case you feel like taking a drive to replenish your stash.
The dress looks stunning on you....and there is nothing wrong with your voice I love the quirky commentary you do over the videos too.
Thank you!
Thank you! I hope you feel better soon ❤
Super flattering, even the dreaded gathered skirt 🌻🍄
Thank you!
What a great dress...the skirt looks great on you. I recently put in a zipper as you do and it was so easy! You make drafting your own patterns look so easy definitely going to have to try this one!
Thank you Margo! I'm glad the zipper behaved for you!
This dress turned out beautiful, it looks amazeballs on you! ^^
Thank you!
Thank you!
Would definitely agree that for those of us of the hourglass persuasion, a full skirt which is smooth at the waist (instead of gathered rectangles) is more flattering :)
Wow! Great dress. Love the sleeves. Next to mutton sleeves - these are my favourite shape.
Thank you!
Oooh I love the green!! I think the skirt looks great on you but I understand being more comfortable with certain styles over others. Overall I think the dress is absolutely beautiful! 💚
Thank you Lindsey!
I have not attempted a gusset in a long while indeed 😅😂
Hi Bianca. The gathered waist does suit you well, and results in a very comfortable dress to wear I would imagine.
I drafted the sleeveless block following you own video instructions and it has turned out just right.
Hope you get well soon
Thank you Jackie!
I love this dress it looks great on you. I do love your look books. Hope you will feel better soon. Take care of yourself and stay healthy. Have a nice fall.
Thank you Fay! You too 🍂
It's always such an education to watch you make clothes. I think the skirt looks lovely on you, but my eye also looks for the flare that isn't there. So I agree with you because I think a flare would look better period. Something about how it continues the line from the cinch above the hips rather than just hangs straight after the curve.
Thank you!
I think the skirt of this dress is beautiful! You always look beautifully put together in these videos and I hae learned a great deal from watching them. Nice to see something simple as I am an intermediate sewist at best.
Thank you!
