Great video! I found it because I’ve been thinking the same thing that with the coming new year I want to just in general buy less and appreciate what I already have in my collection. I’ve been continually disappointed and disillusioned with modern new releases, quality control, seems to frequently be an issue with off-center pressings, noisy albums, Lo Fi covers, and various other things as well as the prices, which seem to keep going up and up.
I don’t have a lot of money, and have to stick to a strict budget, so I tend to be very intentional with my record buying. I just buy my favourite artists, and usually limit myself to one record per month. I don’t want a huge collection to look after, so I only have around 50-60 at the moment, and don’t want to ever own more than 100-200 at any point. I think just being very choosy is a great way to ensure you only have records you love and want to listen to often. But obviously, if your budget is bigger, and you enjoy experimenting, and having a larger collection, that’s great too. I tend to listen to digital music for that.
Hi , been looking at your great interesting videos, I recently got back into records but I go to charity shops and on eBay for second hand lps I pay only £1.00 to £2.00 and about £5-6 pounds off of eBay . Keep up great work.regards mark
Yea, I must say that I love vinyl. However, it has definitely taken a toll on my finances. What’s worse is that it’s 10x harder to sell a bunch of records than it is to not buy more..
No kidding! I have a stack of records that are worth a decent amount of money (like $50-100 ish each) that I never listen to but I just can't seem to find the effort to get rid of them! I could buy so many great records with the money it would make me!

Exactly! I'm definately excited to change my habits for the better/cheaper in the New Year as well.

I guess it's a good way to reaffirm you're still in control. Not sure I could do it. Curious though, did you go back & buy the ones you'd 'missed'?
So far I've still avoided buying anythiny I missed out on! Saw a 25% off sale on Amazon for a record I was targeting and somehow still haven't bit!
@@howtovinyl Be strong brother!
Everyday I buy a record is a better day than not buying a record! 42 years and counting 😂
Custom Range: $0-$5
I also think that vinyl has become so exclusive these days. So waiting to buy something will leave you behind..
Unfortunately, often the case. Either you wait it out and can get a great deal on it - or it skyrockets in value. No in between!
