The saga continues as award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve embarks on “Dune: Part Two,” the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune, with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast. “Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
Villeneuve directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Herbert’s novel. The film is produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Villeneuve, Tanya Lapointe and Patrick McCormick. The executive producers are Joshua Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as creative consultant.
Villeneuve is again collaborating with his “Dune” creatives: Oscar-winning director of photography Greig Fraser; Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette; Oscar-winning editor Joe Walker; Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert; Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer is again on hand to create the score.

They nailed the feel of Dune so well here. The music for this trailer is absolutely chilling, in a good way.
Zimmer chose beef with Nolan to be on this project. He's as much of a Du'nerd as Villeneuve. A dream team.
I've no real attachment to Dune (though I have enjoyed both movies well enough so far), but when the music kicked in I immediately hit the Like button on the video lol, that score with the desert imagery is something else. Certainly did its job in making me dedicate more memory to when Part 2 is coming out!
^ should read the book. Dennis has done a strong job capturing how the story centers inside the minds & politics of the elite characters, but happening just at the edges is this incredible action-movie style megadrama.@@OneWingedRose

It is, it's essentially a nearly 6 hour film made in 2 parts. Most fans will buy them on Blu ray and watch them back to back.

The whole production is going to just kill it. I loved Dune, and this just looks like it'll be delightful. The cast and crew for this production are in top form and I hope they all get a huge bonus for it when it smashes the box office.

It's been 43 years for me, I haven't looked forward to a movie this much since "The Empire Strikes Back." Me and a friend saw it 5 or 6 times in the theater, 3X opening day. I may be more excited for this actually, Dune is my favorite book of all time.

I was really hoping to see it during the holiday season as well- I am very excited to see this movie! I hope there will be showings with Part I and II at the same time, though. Would love to see them all on the big screen again.
To everyone who wishes it had dropped sooner, I say: Villeneuve is making possibly the greatest screen adaptation since the Lord of the Rings, and I'd rather them take a bit longer and get it right than rush and ruin what I believe will be one of the greatest classics of sci-fi ever made.

After reading the books once, in 2005, I've never watched the LOTR movies again. Unfortunatelly for Villeneuve, I've read the Dunes 5-6 times in the last 30 years or so. I know there is absolutely no way he can pull more than 25% of the book so I won"t bother watching his second part. He could have used maximum 30-40% in the first movie, but he didn't. Also Liet a woman? It's disrespectful towards the author.

One of the best movie trailers I've ever seen. Watching this play in IMAX before Aquaman 2 was a spiritual experience.

I have not craved a movie release this much since Lord of the Rings.
the term blockbuster was made from star wars lines in the 80s for the cinemas, literally being multiple street blocks long, and nowadays we lost that meaning to advertising; I believe the bottom of my heart that this film will bring back the old term, meaning that on march 1st, its gonna be one hell of a ride on shai-hulud.
It’s far more about the box office earnings nowadays though and it’s why we have booking times for screenings as holding up multiple streets isn’t viable in most places anymore.

There will NEVER be a movie that will get more than 30-40% of the book. Nobody will ever be able to transpose the inner thoughts, extensive world-building, complex political plots, and philosophical themes into images.
@@DanSlotea Never be able too, its an impossible task, but too see some of it on the big screen is pretty amazing although some bits of the first part were a bit jarring
If your a fan of the book, it does feel like he's just tryna build up to Messiah while missing some of the most intrigual and significant parts of the first book, I suppose pt2 will let us know.👊🏽

Dennis is ultimate Dune fan. He worked so hard. He made Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 just so he can practice such magnificent shots. A true predecessor to Qubrik.
Whew! Very few movies/trailers give me goosebumps anymore, but this trailer really got me. I truly hope this part 2 does exceedingly well, because I want to see Denis bring Dune Messiah and Children of Dune to the big screen.

2. No iteration has been done better so far.
3. I can think of no filmmaker who could do better.

Time for movie theaters to remember the times when there were double/multi-feature presentation. I sat through Alien 1-4 when the last one was release and the same with Leathal Weapon. Very fond memories.

I've got out of the theater an our ago... one word to describe this movie which have millions behind... CATHARTIC... I'm a long time fan of the sci-fi channel saga, and after david linch's i was distrustful of big budget adaptations, and i was starting the books when I heard that there will be your adaptation, so i stopped reading the books to be free to enjoy this... it was all worthwhile... it made my heart run wild and my lungs empty, even i forgot to breed in some parts... it left mute for ten minutes after saw it, and with a knot on my throat of joy and sadness at the same time, and gave me a few great surprises, for those creative liberties taken worked so perfect for me... thank you so very much!
why is a trailer for the most advanced audio-visual experience of our times not posted in 4K? c'mon, Legendary!

they portrayed feyd rautha a bit different than what i imagined in the book. he was more like the quiet kid brooding about shooting up a school than a cocky bully (that tongue out bit was a tad corny, very jared leto as joker type). rabban was the bully, feyd was something else and thats what made him so sinister and demented like his uncle...but it remains to be seen..
I think it's to make him seem more menacing as a villain against Paul, since the book shows it really as just 2 young men whod been groomed by a power bigger than them trapped into killing each other.
The only flaws I had with the first movie, were that some of the characterisations were not intense enough (like the Dr. beeing the traitor). I think this movie will be an epitome of cinema!
In the book they thoroughly explain his reason for betraying the Duke.
Unfortunately, they had to cut corners for part 1 to work. But I have a feeling that part 2 will be a banger. Hopefully it won't let us down

Have to say the best parts for me- spectacle-wise, were the Worms coming out of the Coriolis storm and the Imperial Palace (?) glowing as it entered the atmosphere.
I was a little underwhelmed watching Part 1. But I hear the book is incredible, especially the second half of it. Now I got under 3 months to finally read the book 😊

When it started it did not feel like the best trailer edit. But damn, they have done a hell of a cut. Years later when people watch this cut, when Messiah and maybe even GEOD have been released this will feel like treasure. And that voice on emperor's witch was goosebumps.

The bitrate compression on this trailer is really bad. I think I saw the same problem on trailer number 2 as well. Excited for the movie, but I wanted to mention it because it seems like a unique problem with this film's trailer distribution.
Yes! When it was first released on the WB channel it had really bad compression during the first 10s. But it seems like it’s been replaced with a new file, which makes it a bit better but it isn’t completely gone yet.
