I'm loving all these builds. Have you considered doing some late-game builds, but with mid-game (i.e. medium/heavy) mechs? Having to just run Warhawk/Direwolf stars all the time gets pretty dull pretty quick.
I've run a Mist Lynx on the tabletop for a while. The arm mounted weapon systems typical of OmniMechs was intended to save the torso locations for carrying battle armor. Sadly, this isn't included here. Outside of that, the Mist Lynx is a speed merchant, so unless you're buying, you're selling yourself short. There are some stock variants that can deliver WAY above their weight class, though. Absolutely.
If I'm not mistaken, after the 2nd mission vs the pirates, where the tonnage limit gets at 175t, the mist lynx can just be replaced by a 2nd viper bought from the store, which can stay in the star for quite a while.
I prefer SSrms because I’m not good with hitting with the unguided Srms yet. But that 3 tons I can save moving from 2xSSrm6 to just 2xSrm6s will be a great improvement for me skill wise.
I love light mechs, also wish there were more missions for them. Also, is a shame this build takes down the Atlas way faster than a Mad Dog with two Gauss rifles :/
These little mechs should retain some relevancy even later in game as they have their purpose. Unfortunatelly game is designed to go for bigger and bigger mechs and missions are not designed in a way to utilize light mechs. There should be multiple ways to do missions - with heavy fighting OR sneaky fast paced objective focused subterfuge way - that'll be where light mechs shine.
Too right! I really wanna do the combined arms thing, but later missions in both this game and MW5 punish you for not making the most of your tonnage. Ideally a light mech should be able to sneak around, paint targets with a Tag laser, stuff like that.
Hmmmm the Clanners sure does love strapping all their weapons on the arms...maybe im wrong but most of the Clan mech i see in MW5 Clans have their weapons mostly in the Arms
@@PorktatoesSSRB it’s for carrying elementals around. They can attach to most mechs but make it impossible to shoot from torso mounted weapons. Also arm mounted guns discourage physical attacks which are considered to be dishonorable
Taking on all advanced mission objectives at once is extrmely difficult even with maxed out evasion skill. I manged to do all of them with a group of mostly NOVA on most turtlebay mission. If you limit your firepower and armor by taking stock loadout and the tonage limits, the mission takes much longer and you might lose a limb anyway. Its more time effiecent to just ignore stock Loadout.
I ignore it because it bears no point whatsoever to the video you're watching. In case you must know, I already finished an expert playthrough on stream with only stock builds.
@@TTBprime Forgive me. Looking at this comment a few days later I realize how snide it sounds. That was not at all my intention. Struggle? I fail to see how you can struggle with a mech that you don't even have to use. I mean main character starts in the 40 ton Viper and Mist Lynx is kinda the first on the chopping block, no? Struggle ... seriously 😋
@@TTBprime You hopefully notice that "like a challenge", but then asking someone to make an op build to steamroll said challenge with is a little paradox, no? But yeah, it wasn't a super serious comment indicated by the emoji. I know people love to do silly stuff with mechs. I'm just wired differently.
Mobility does not matter. I explained it in the video. The AI does not aim. It rolls for hits. If they roll a hit, you cannot dodge it. It's just aimbot to the component regardless of what you do in the moment.
Holy cow, it looks like Mist Lynx is back on the menu. I like this format, that was the perfect length of time for mission use of a build.
definitly like to see the builds in missions, thx TTB ^^

The Mist Lynx would still be necessary if you ever plan on going back and completing some of the tonnage limitation challenges in the SimPod.
I miss the "strip mech" and "Max armor" buttons. Then I would start to build.
I wish we had access to the "ebon dragoon" variant omnipods from MWO. 2 energy hardpoints in a side torso goes a long way to help this chassis.

I figured out which light mech they did not put in, its the speedster Dasher!

It's a shame we didn't get the MLX-G with 2 small lasers in the right torso.
i like to see the builds in the missions. the shooting range is too easy as you hit CT all the time

Because people want to use it. Maybe they like the mech model, maybe they like a challenge.

I got DFA'd today. 95% to dead. by a light mech!
Why not ditch the .5 on the torso, then change the legs to .5s... that seems more survivable. Mobility is life with the 25t

Does movement speed improve evasion chance just by itself? For example, will the AI roll more often to hit you if you are just standing?
@@TTBprime I'd be a little surprised if your movement speed relative to the enemy mech didn't impact their hit rolls, though.
@@foamyesque they do.
NO light mech should be fighting at close range, always hiding at long range - smoke screens, long range radar, long range missiles etc.
