The private market is very efficient - for distributing goods to the highest bidder. Efficiency is actually why the poorest people can't get health care, because the bottom 50% have less money than the top 1%. Making the service "more efficient" will make it more inaccessible for the poor. This is the kind of stuff Adam Smith warned about when he talked about the capitalism system. Free market gives you the most efficient outcome, not the best.

Privatizing Original Medicare is already happening by way of private health insurers with their Medicare Advantage plans.
CMS doles out $1000 per enrollee per month to MA plan private insurance companies. The only advantage there is, is for the insurers who are raking in profits because they can, and do, deny claims and service coverage.
Please get Bernie to spill the beans about how privatizing Medicare is already in full gear to the tune of billions of MA subscribers.
