This weeks video is a long one. You will see me machine some conrods and also machine valve pockets into a B series block.
This is all for Pete who races his RGS Atalanta sports car at various circuits throughout the UK.

Good attention to detail,only improvements would be to use a piston ring squaring tool
when checking ring gaps.
Always a benefit to chamfere head stud holes in block.
Thanks Robert, yes I do need to order a ring squaring tool, I've just always used the piston.. I will get one though..

This one includes so many amazing details that pertain even to a stock rebuild (though it’s a race engine). So many hand operations and critical checks that the home-builder can do before and after machine shop, i.e. the info on pulling oil gallery plugs and cleaning out with the threaded rod-stuff I need to know!

Very informative video. A couple of points for you to consider. Why install the new cam bearings when you have not finished cleaning the block properly? You stand a chance of damaging the bearing surfaces. I think best to clean and finish all of your machining work, clean the block again and then install the cam bearings. Secondly, you are handling a lot of bad chemicals that will damage your skin and enter your system through cuts and scrapes. Suggest heavily you wear 7 mil thick minimum gloves. Save yourself for a long and prosperous life and more videos. Cheers from Texas.
Hi Robert, yes I agree with you on the bearings, normally one of my last jobs but not on that engine.. safety ware is something I always overlook and really need to sort out, my wife is always saying about it.. I'll get stuff ordered next week. Thanks for viewing

Yes Michael, runs great. 60 lbs. Oil press at hot idle. Hope it continues.😄
Lol auto correct on the reply. Corrected now.. there a great engine when maintained.. you e got great oil pressure.. what grade oil do you run
20w50 Castrol GTX Classic. This was with a test gauge. Don't have the original gauge installed yet.

Excellent, just excellent. I noted that you used to work for Oselli, I remember reading about their 2 liter engines for the B. But that was 30 years ago, are they still around?
Thank you.. yes they are still going and still building B series engines, I was speaking to David (oselli owner a week ago at a classic car show)

Great job - do you ever use Glyptal paint on the inside of the engine? Also do you knife edge crank weights for racing application?
Thanks.. yes I have used it in the past but not recently.. yes we do knife edge cranks if the rules allow and the counter weight is heavy
