- Smallrig RC 60 B lights, they are tiny little cob lights with an internal battery. Can be powered by usb-c and other sources. Comes with softbox diffusion. They are so light and small. Can put on regular tripod or light stand. And I definitely know how to use them properly.

Yeah, used to be so dark in my freezer whenever I shut the door. I could benefit from buying several of those lights I guess. Darkness problem solved. BUT still: it was freezing cold in there - would you mind to recommend a nice and reliable heating system I could use in my fridge? Could help a lot with the stabilization.. Not gonna lie, it's not easy to shoot my freezer-vlogs on a G100 holding the camera with my shaky hands.

When using lights like these, and to keep your traditional room’s “look”, first expose for the background like you normally would, then lock exposure in manual and add supplemental lights like these at low power to fill in shadows/highlight areas.

Those are cool. Smallrig stuff is always top notch for me (since I'm not Philip Bloom or someone with $10k to spend on a tripod).
For the past few years, I have been considering moving from strobe to steady state lighting. I remember and love the 1940's portraits of Hollywood stars. It is only recently that LED lights have achieved the correct color temperature and intensity needed for good contrast and that the prices have become reasonable
For portraits, I still prefer strobes. Being full blasted for a whole shoot is kind of miserable.

The Ulanzi one is 40w to smallrig 60 watt. Same battery size which means likely the Ulanzi lasts longer and most
Importantly Ulanzi one is half the cost. For that I’m going with the Ulanzi.
The Ulanzi light goes on crazy discounts too. On Black Friday it was down to ~$50

I got some Amaran lights. These small rigs would be nice for like you said b-roll shots where you need a more closer light source. I like that little Puck, but I can't get it to do exactly what I want. But I do like that it has rgb

Picture it: 2, that's right 2! small rig silly lights ( one as micro key, the other as a rim job); one mounted on each scooter grip...you whizzing (as in fast, not urinating because that is illegal in most public outdoor spaces) along the peddle path (as in cycling, not the other illegal thing), with the wind whisking through your hair as you offer your now fully illuminated insight on vlog methodology and philosophy? Small lights are always tricky but you can angle them away from the subject at a distance to get a softer light.
They really aren't powerful enough to do that with. Unless you are at f1.2 and ISO a billion
@@therealjimmy5411 They looked powerful enough, consodering he used them at under 10%. Matching ISO and aperture to a LED light is a doddle on a modern camera. It seems you don't know what you are talking about.

If only these charged faster. They apparently take 20+ hours to charge and lasts 40min at full brightness
They don't take 20 hours to charge, but it does seem to take awhile.

@@Wildridefilms Mine charged up during the day, couldn't have been more than 12 hours probably less. Maybe he is using some old charger.

Wow, yeah you’re supposed to ADD to the ambient light. Not replace it, unless you are going to simulate the ambient with extra lighting.
Yep. My average indoor setup at low light is a 7000 Lumen flashlight "faking" natural light by indirect light and on the camera a small, modified keychain flashlight on the cold shoe.
Wondering if those small lights even perform good enough, at least i can tell... a DIY 100W COB flooder needs a 80mm CPU heatsink and fan support, for overdriving the LEDs (80W) to 150W the 80mm fan turns on 100% and is getting loud already.
I sense a little frustration, I think I know why, you still don't have your grubby little hands on the dji pocket 3 ;)

Overexposed with the two lights in the side-by-side. At US$160 each, and you likely need 2 to use them effectively, that's US$320... And according to their bumph, they last about 75 minutes in "eco mode".
