    Honestly, it sounds a lot like my EQD Arrows and the Arrows being pushed by a clean Blues Driver. I don't get the hype of OD pedals. Seems every few months someone creates a must have magical unicorn.
    I'm not saying the pedal sounds bad, it just sounds like every other OD.
    I run two OD's, both low to mid gain, I run two fuzz pedals, one for some extra beef the other for a thick drive.

    I've owned em all, and currently have the ThorpyFX Peacekeeper, Vemuram Jan Ray, Analogman KOT, and Lovepedal OD11 on my board. Of them all, the Peacekeeper is my favourite. It is the most amp like OD pedal I've ever played. The EQ section lets you dial in true transparent drive (if that's your thing), bass boosted, treble boosted, or mid boosted tones. So not only is it the most amp-like drive pedal I've ever played, but it also has one of the best EQ section. To get to the point... what differences should I expect between The Dane and the Peacekeeper?

    Hi Chris, I know this is an older video now but I'm doing my head in trying to work out whether to get this or the D&M Drive. I have only ever had another opinion come back and say they are both very different pedals and to be fair that doesn't totally come across through youtube like that. My question, if youd be so kind (having played them in person), are they close enough together that one should choose one or the other? Or, are they sufficiently different that both would sit well next to each other on the board? Given the prices, which would be the most versatile to get first in that case? Currently I have a SD Pickup Booster for clean boost; EHX Turnip Greens (Soul Food), TS-type multi-pedal, and Big Muff for dirt (with some amp/DI pedals as alternative OD pedals in reserve) - some streamlining of that end of the board would not be amiss. Longwinded I know, but I'd value your opinion. Sorry I missed you in Glasgow by the way...

    • @ChrisBuckGuitar
      @ChrisBuckGuitar  5 лет назад +2

      James Goddin Haven’t played the D&M in a VERY long time but they’re both fantastic pedals. The boost on the D&M is a little more Klon-orientated which would ordinarily be more to my taste if it wasn’t for the ‘Lows’ control on the Dane, which is incredible. I’d say the drive on the Dane is more to my taste as well, but the ability to flip the order on the D&M is a big plus. In short, you won’t go wrong with either. Both brilliant pedals 👌🏻

    I think the pedal sounds really good as anything in Chris' hands tends to.
    I'll be honest though I really don't get this configuration. It doesn't really offer any advantages compared to your favourite OD sitting next to your favourite boost pedal other than maybe saving one output from your power supply.
    I don't really understand why the default dual pedal is an overdrive plus an independent boost.

    • @ChrisBuckGuitar
      @ChrisBuckGuitar  5 лет назад +4

      Nick Taylor ...precisely! I instantly hate anything that colours the sound of a guitar beyond recognition and with Strats, that’s pretty much anything with the gain cranked. I’ve never liked the way in which single coils handle copious amounts of gain, hence dialing it into a spot where it sounds sweet and sustaining but still like my Strat. If it’s transparent enough to let the guitar’s character and dynamics in my playing come through, I’m onto a winner. Humbuckers on the other hand are a different kettle of fish, hence maxing the gain at the end of the video 👍🏻

    if you have this pedal and are wondering why it sounds like crap.... It's your amp my guess. I had this going through two HTR1's and it never got me on. I always felt like it was too thin, never could dial in a good sound, and just was all around VERY unhappy with it. I couldn't understand why everyone, even those who aren't gods like Chris and Pete could make the pedal sound good and I was starting to doubt myself as a player...
    Then I got my Mesa California Tweed.. now? This pedal is NEVER off. I think the problem is running the pedal through amps that cost less than the pedal itself might be the problem =P

    Not "Everybody" is talking about this pedal. I use a Hot Rodded Fender Deluxe. 2 channels. One for rhythm one for soloing. No need for any pedals. I do have a Blues Driver to use with my mid-90's hot rodded Blues Junior. That is all. My Silhouette (HSH) with stock series/parallel switching gives me a very broad tonal pallette. No other pedals required.
