- We got a new printer. Today we are looking at the Epson EcoTank ET 2850 inkjet printer. We think that this could be one of the best inkjet printers that you could possibly pick up for both home and of course those that are going to school. This printer could last you a long time! Not something that id ever previously say in regards to inkjet printers.

For those that work from home or are attending school this is a great option and one that you should definitely keep in mind if looking at a new printer.

When my printer goes on the brink, this is the printer that I am going to buy. My printer is an Epson WorkForce Pro Wf-3720. The problem is that I might have to wait for ten years. My Epson is excellent, but I like the ink bottle feature of yours. 😊😊
Agreed. I love Epson printers. But up till now I just hated the cost of ink. The bottles are a great idea.
Yeah i will never say anything bad about Epson printers they are awesome i am 57 and using Epson ever i went from dotmatrix printers to inktjet the last one i have is about 10 uears old wireless flatbadscanner\printer SX425W and the all in one before that i also have and is still working but with usb. Great stuff.
yeah im a big epson fan as well. used to use all their wide format photo printers. Super good quality.
I have always used HP printers. Not getting as much use as in the past. I normally need to replace ink every 18 months or so for about $100.00. The most used function though, is the scanner.
The Epson looks like a good idea in savings over the long run.
And if Shaq comes over to refill the ink that would be a bonus.
we do a lot more printing now that both my wife and I work a lot from home. Plus our daughter is in HS and does a fair bit. So we end up going through ink fairly quickly. I think that having a printer like this (for us) is our best option. And knowing that we arent gonna run out of ink anytime soon is a huge asset. As I sometimes have to print 20+ page documents and cant run out of ink in the middle of printing. But not everyone even needs a printer nowadays.
Please do the updates. Would like to know what your thoughts are on it.
We used inkjet printers for years and then I bought a colour laserjet a few years ago and never looked back. Cheaper overall running costs. I get not everyone will agree but timer so much easier then ink in my experience.
I had a color laser as well. But a color laser just can’t do color photo reproduction very well. For that you need an inkjet.
Went from a Canon PIXMA that uses ink cartridges to a Epson EcoTank last week-ink tank printers are awesome.
My Epson is a ET-2810 by the way.

I have the ET 2851 from Epson bought in december 2021. I print al lot of photos in A4 and long banner size 8.5x24 inch. Mostly I print currently on semigloss and matt paper. Quality is good for the price. But my advice is try the free icc profiles from Red River. I print a lot from Photoshop and this works wel in combination with the icc profiles. Even Black & White photos are print in good quality
These are just $200 USD now on Amazon. That's "renewed" but it has the Amazon guarantee which is rock solid. I'm getting one for my dad for his birthday; shhh don't tell him.
thats awesome. we love ours and after a year we still have about 80% of the ink still left!
Good introduction video, but I'm in the camp with those who would like to hear your thoughts after using it. You must be up and running with this unit by now. What are your thoughts and is it performing as expected? Do you have any gripes regarding this printer? Let us know what your opinion is. Please and thank you for your efforts so far.
so far everything is running very well no complaints at all. The wireless function is also doing well adn all of our computers can print to this printer via wifi. Ive printed a fair bit and so far and the ink levels have not seemed to drop at all.
Have you used the auto double sided print? I just ditched hp for lying to me saying the hp inspire 7200 had auto duplex. I'm ready to join the epson cult
Whats the recommend paper brand daily use epson 2850
i bought this printer earlier this year told the guy in staples what I needed it for (vibrant photos because I do crafting and use lots of pics ) so he knew I wasn't looking for good copies like for letters but was there to find something that printers good photos for sticker, cards , printing transfer paper ,resin everything craft and he guaranteed this was perfect for what I needed well... HE LIED and I'm stuck anyone have suggestion maybe I can change settings that would help? or should I just take it as a loss and get a better one?
This isn’t a photo printer. It prints ok photos but is a home/small office printer. You should definitely be looking for a photo printer.

90 cartridges ...it just tell you how much ink is in a cartridge which is not much for your $30...

The frustration level of installing this printer to you network and remote devices is very high … Im returning this printer and returning to HP
seems like a network/user issue. This printer installed super easy and was no more difficult than any other wifi printer that we've used.
@@gregtoope after 2 days and multiple attempts to follow the mobile & laptop instructions … It finally found my network and I figured out how to manage printers settings for images & docs

I might be going out on a limb here but most people are probably looking for an actual review of the printer rather than watching you talk about the brand new unboxed printer for 15 grueling minutes. This is a frustratingly useless video.
