We have one at work and it has been working for 2 years(going on 3), everyday, except on weekends. Best printer I've ever used. We've changed the black 3 times and the color 2 times. Scanner is amazing, absolutely clear. Wifi connection is great, only had hiccups twice and easily remedied by restarting the printer. Solid printer, would recommend if you need something that just works and has low maintenance.
Bought this printer based on this review. My first inkjet for years (have used laser for over a decade). Took far too long to set up, but once up and running, it seems to be quite usable. Best part, I like the inktanks at the front. and I strongly suspect, that's the only real reason I bought it 😁 - Thanks for this step by step, it was very useful!
Oh no. 😲Just seen this. Bought an hp printer last month complete with the smart ink plan. Epson have put a lot of thought into this. The trouble is with most printers the printer itself may be cheap but go and buy 2 new cartridges and they are not far off the cost of the printer. Lol.i will see how I get on with hp🙏 . I had an Epson about 15years ago and the print quality was amazing. Thanks for the excellent walk through. 👍
Thanks for the video. I have ordered and plan to use WiFi. I hope it is easy as many are saying it isn’t. Big bonus is the ink pad seems a million times easier to get to and clean than my current printer (where the ink pad has just come to the end of its life)

Always had Epson printers. Last one had 13years uses wifi for scans, photos & cds. Only issue is its never used so ink dries and cant be used , my fault entirely. As you say never knew how much ink really in those compatible cartridges. This Eco Tank system looks a godsend for regular users. Thanks for sharing Mike and Kath👍
hopefully this one will last for the next 10 years or so, the old one did about 5 or 6 which wasn't bad but in the end year the prints were very faded and bits missing, which is now a real problem with QR codes
I've had 2 second hand photo printers from Epson. With the price of cartridges absurdly expensive (and they sometimes emptied themselves just cleaning the heads) , you're forced down the 'cheapie' route. This causes more blockages and you enter into a sort of hell of running a clean because one head is blocked- which then seems to block 3 more... With an Ecotank (ET-8500) I've not had one problem now, that I just source all papers to the rear feeder. Highly reliable, dirt cheap (except for the original outlay- though another second hander!) and capable of producing good quality prints. Thanks, Mike for your wonderful service to tech-kind!
Regarding accidentally putting the wrong colour in the wrong area: I watched a different review which showed that actually the Epson Ecotank range ink refills have specially shaped heads for each type so that they actually *can't* connect to the wrong type, it would be literally impossible because the ink containers won't "click" into place unless they have the right connector. #socool!
I've got one two years ago... Compared to my old HP printer (which lasted almost 15 years, btw), this one may cost a bit more compared to traditional ink cartridge printer, but you get so much ink at a very little price, you can save a lot of money when printing everything at home! I started printing actual photos on photo paper not that long ago and the quality is amazing! The shown one here is similar to the one I have - it's the ET 2815. If you want to save the environment and money on printers, get one with ink tanks! That's all I can advise here.
$282.45NZD. And much faster than my old Epson Ink Tank. So I don't have to print wireless, it will print via USB that's what I want. The ink collection is the deal for me, my last Epson ink tank now won't go because its ink collection is full and it's too expensive to get it replaced at the non-existent dealer in my town. Cool thanks

You need to use inkjet printers ever few days to avoid clogged nozzles. I have an ET2710 and for the 1st year it was good, but now I'm struggling with clogged nozzles, but it's probably my fault for not using it often enough...I might go a couple of weeks without using it and then when I need to print off a few pages, I waste so much ink trying to clean the nozzles. In hindsight, I should've bought a cheap laser printer and kept my previous printer for the flatbed scanner.

I can't for the life of me NOT print WITHOUT that white border. Epson's customer service has been worthless and I can't find any solutions online. If you don't mind a thick white border on all your documents, this printer is fine. But if you want to make flyers, posters, promo items, get ready to have fun spending hours chopping off white borders.
I heard the ink heads are designed to clogg up and designed so you can't unclog it or fix it. if you don't use it at least once a week. anyone have experience with it?
i have had this a while now and sometimes not used all week and in a very hot room with cats and a log burner, and it has got clogged up yet, not even needed a head clean
Epson Printers are a SCAM. Avoid at all cost . I am sitting with 2 epson ink tank printers that are unusable . Basically Epson installed a piece of software inside the printer that forces consumers to pay Epson more money to reset/change Ink pads(which work perfectly). There are no sensors that actually do any checking on ink in ink pads. So, once you hit their preset number of prints, the WHOLE multifunction printer shuts off and you can't use it unless you bring it for servicing. And you can't do it yourself and just change ink pads. You have to pay Epson or its dealer for the reset. Isn't that extortion? Pay us money and let us reset your printer or you will not be able to print, scan, etc??

4G is a mobile network not a wifi network, for that you would need to configure the printer for external access. Of turn off mobile data on your phone to force it to use wifi
Thank you I have managed to set it all up now
@@patbennett4268 Glad you got it working 🙂
great vid
I'm stuck. All my lights have come on and won't do anything now. Less than 6 months old
Contact Epson support, lucky it is still in warranty

My ET-2875 can print dobbeltsided manually. But only whole documents. That is if you have a 100 pages document you can not only print 50 pages . I assume this is a software error but the agent seems uninterested to alert the manufacturer. The software is epson smart .Panel App
i don't think i have even printed a double sided document on mine
Do you still use it?
almost every day
does it print photos
yes it can
You actually can't put the wrong color into the wrong tank. Every bottle will only fit one tank.
And at 25:09, it's LC-Display, not LCD Display.
Liquid Crystal Display
after laser printer i purchase ecotank L3256, what cheap photo paper is best for printing?
the stuff from costco is quite good and pretty cheap
anyone else seeing wheel lines and pin wheel lines on 240gsm photo paper?
try printing slower
I am wondering what interesting prints you'd get if you did put the wrong colors in the wrong place. I'll let someone else do that.
lol yeah i'm not trying it
I can't for the life of me NOT print WITHOUT that white border. Epson's customer service has been worthless and I can't find any solutions online. If you don't mind a thick white border on all your documents, this printer is fine. But if you want to make flyers, posters, promo items, get ready to have fun spending hours chopping off white borders.
i will try and look into that, borderless printing is not something i have looked at for a while
borderless printing is an option that not all printers have, ET-2010 can't print in borderless, it's sad.
IT IS NOT AN EASY SET UP AT ALL.......GOING BACK IN THE MORNING...
sorry to hear that, what was the problem?
👎👎👎
what is that for? did i upset you?
Pay us money and let us reset your printer or you will not be able to print, scan, etc??
yeah that is pretty bad
