You could teach the boys to tie a tie! You are doing so well Emily, juggling work, teaching, parenting, looking after a home and staying positive! Lots of love.
Really hard having the kids home and keeping a steady education! The first few weeks they've been sitting in the pajamas watching tv all day, we've made a little homeschool schedule but they don't have to do it on Mondays as mummy is at work! 9:30: PE with Joe. 10:00: English and 15-20 minutes of reading. 11:00: Maths and TTrockstars 12:00: Lunch 1:00: Daily life skill 1:30: Drawing/Colouring/Crafts e.t.c 2:00: Geography/History/Religious studies 3:00: End of day and mummy gets a cuppa!
I am a twelve-year-old and some life skills that I find really useful are learning how to cut your fingernails by yourself(without hurting yourself), how to wash your hair, and how to water plants and garden.
Emily, you are just such a ray of sunshine! Love your positivity in the face of all this craziness. Speaking of sunshine, how amazing does your house look when it’s sunny out?!!
I love watching everyones vlogs whilst spending time with all of their family and kids. Its so nice to see you guys having so much fun and being so loving and having a lot of fun. Your videos are keeping me going whilst im still at work! Watching Jackson doing those flashcards melted my heart. He is growing up so quickly!
Teaching the boys a new life skill everyday is a brill idea! I homeschool my toddler anyway but this type of homeschooling is a new ball game altogether. I need to be extra creative planning the days now which is a bit more of an effort, but I look at the positives. And blessed to be with my family in these difficult times. Much love all the way from Saudia Arabia. Xxx
You are an amazing mum you literally give 1 million percent in every thing you do. Ur an an incredible role model to ur kids n to all the parents out there. U remain so positive n upbeat which I’m sure helping the kids I’m feeling safe and secure during this difficult time. Sending love to u n ur family x
They’re such sweet boys!! I love your life skills lessons, my little one isn’t old enough yet but when she is I will definitely be doing this! Some ideas that come to mind are: taking the trash out, putting new bedding on the beds, cleanings rooms / items around the house, and cooking of course. You already said some of these. I just love your channel and during this time seeing your channel helps all the more xx
The KiwiCo packages look incredible! Can't believe how well Jackson was with that card recognition game. I remember an old video when you did something similar with him (he was tiny) but he got bored after like 4 cards. Getting so big and clever!xx
I love watching your videos Emily! You’re so positive and inspiring. At times like this just seeing your happy face makes me feel 100% better, I’m sure the majority of your viewers feel the same. Keep the videos coming please!😁 xx
A life skill that all kids need to cope with is how to be bored! I’m not even joking. They need to learn how to entertain themselves without schedules or suggestions. Free time to do this is really important.
For survival stuff, maybe Fraser might be interested in learning how to make a Paracord Survival Bracelet or key chain? I learned through youtube and made some for my husband and his friend :) They keep them on their camping packs as a key chain but also as a go to if they need paracord for anything like setting up the tent or hanging items from the tree. Going allong with paracord some other thing I have learned during these long days lol is different knot tying techniques :)
I really love watching these videos! It has helped me when it comes to home schooling!! I have drawn out a timetable and used some of ur activities! Love ur channel and hope you are all ok!!💕
Hi Emily!! We are finishing week two of our lockdown here in Spain. Two more weeks to go at least. I love your videos they always make me smile. We are doing good.. Everything will be allright!! Love from Spain
Matt's dad is in Spain so we are constantly following updates there, so worrying but so important to be positive. Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
Loved this video! A life skill idea - what about once you’ve done the washing and it’s clean get all the boys to help you sort it into everyone piles? So each child has to find there items in the pile. Will be good for Jackson as he will learn how to sort and the older two you could teach them how to fold maybe? X
Your my hero and inspiration!!!! Thank u so much for these videos you bring light to the sometimes darkness that we mums can hit being home all day with our bebes... anyway thanks again!!!!!
Hi Emily, have been following you for about a year now and just need to say I'm so sorry because I wasn't subscribed and I didn't realise, as our videos always come up in my suggested and I watch them all so just assumed I was subscribed. I can't believe how much Jackson has grown up, he seems to be growing so fast, so cute with the flash cards. I just want to say, as an emergency nurse in Australia, I really appreciated watching you self isolate and do so so positively, it's so comforting and feels so supportive to see people doing their best to stay at home because it really makes a big difference. Thank you again and keep up the amazing work. Stay safe xx
Hi Emily.i know that you as all people have been struggling to go through with this new life.its only logical since humans are made to be free and happy. Try to see all this as an opportunity to reestimate life and and get the best of it. Yes, you ve already got it. Keep on fighting and enjoying your life with your family. I am a mum of two and what we re doing so far is having disco nights , gymnastics, karaoke, ironing tests, so that my kids can be better at ironing their cloths ,treasure hunting, watching films. This is so beautiful ❤️ You guys are incredible parents I was so blessed watching this. So much love in that home, just precious. Well done, amazing work 😊
We have been in lockdown for over two weeks here in Norway. Your videos are so inspiring. Thank you for staying positive and inspiring us to making our days better! I really look forward to your videos. Wish you a great weekend
I love how when you were doing the flash cards with Jackson he was able to read ''toothbrush'' while it was upside down and I love how your other son knows which cards are upside down.
Great video. 👍 6 months Pregnant mum Homeschooling a 11 year old and 3 year old whilst also looking after our 1 year old . Struggled thus week as partner has to work from home in a stressful job and I'm caring for my nan. Peeling vegetables for dinner (I.e Potatoes) was something I learnt via Brownies as a life skill. How to clean toilets, how to lay a table, how to fold clothes. Anyways, take care of yourselves and be safe xxx
Hi Frasier. I'll be glad when all this virus is gone. Hope you all stay safe and well. My grandson got his work package today but he was working some online before that. Praying for everyone. God bless you all.
Your mom literally looks like your big sister!!She is beautiful just like you!!💖thank you so much for the ideas on what to do in quarantine!!I send all my love and health positive vibes from Greece💙💙
Wow! You have to be the most amazing RUclipsr, You never ever have any negative , or even neutral comments. Everything is always perfect and lovely and quite living in an alternate planet. How wonderful to be you.
Really enjoyed that thanks emily! I am also finding it hard when my 3 year old asks to go to the park, to see his friends at nursery and go to the garden centre 😭 😂 in a way it’s good that they don’t understand but it’s also so hard trying to explain why they can’t do all the normal things. Look forward to more home school vlogs 💕
Exactly Katie. There is so much worse going on and we should be grateful to only have to stay at home, but a 3 year old cannot understand that!! Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx
I love how you did the snack box I did a twist and there is a bag of snacks for each day and in the morning of that day at the front of the box a put a drink
I don't know if you have a tent/any camping stuff, but you could do like a "camping skills" session. Putting up a tent, make a fire if you have a fire pit (I know the boys are young.. so supervised obviously). If you have that nice weather it's perfect to spend time outside!
You are doing a great job, in these times I am glad my 6 children are no longer at school, although my job as a TA and a Math TA for children with issues would probably come in handy. Keep up the good work young lady and stay safe x
I don't have kids but my friend has them and a wide range of ages so I can tell you some things she has done/suggest things I've seen around. She actually has on a hook by the washing machine written instructions (like a little packet) for how to do each different type of laundry load (laminated because, you know, children) with what temp, how much detergent, etc, so they can just follow those for the laundry. You can also get kid cookbooks with recipes kids can follow (maybe let each of them take a turn making lunch for everyone on their own with supervision/help if needed). You can even get these kid-safe knives that are made from iirc nylon (it's some kind of hard plastic) that will cut veggies/fruits but not skin so they can develop those knife skills without you worrying about them getting injured. Plus then they can also help with more complex meals. If they are old/mature enough to be trusted with this HOW TO IRON (something my SO's parents neglected much to my eternal chagrin). How to budget/how banking works (someone made a little mock bank set-up for their daughter that I saw online with deposit and withdrawal slips and a little accounting/check book so she could keep track of her deposits and such, it was cute). Just general housekeeping skills (like I would get them more involved in cleaning up the house at the end of the day so they learn and it also makes for less work for you long term). Since it's Spring you could probably start a little veggie or herb garden (there are a lot of veggies that take well to gardening in a pot).
You really are a super duper Mummy Emily!! Your boys are just beautiful, Jackson’s eyes are just amazing!! I love how they all take care of each other! Sending hugs 🤗 xx
Teaching the boys to sew would be so fun for them, some fabric and some needle and thread, just for them to get familiar with stitching so they can know how to fix holes, buttons etc in the future 👍
Emily I watched your recent meal prep video the other day and I'm really liking the snack box idea. I make it in the morning and then I do a lot less getting snacks all day. The kids liked it too, thanks for the idea!
Wow. All this in one day, my hat goes off To you. My children are driving me insane and I’m a school teacher. I would much rather be at work!!! Great job Emily. I will try & enjoy this time with the kiddos. Thanks for sharing.
Life skills! Such a good idea. I’ve taught my kids easy composting using a bokashi bin and growing our own veggies - mainly tomatoes. They use the bokashi tea to fertilise the plants and eat the toms straight of the vine. A worm farm would work just as well as the bokashi bin. X
Love you watching your videos Emily. Jackson is only a few weeks younger then my little girl so it's like they have grown up together 😊 it may have already been suggested or the boys may even know but one thing you could maybe teach them/talk to them about is what to do in an emergency... So if you or matt were to fall ill when home alone with them, who they need to call and what to say so address etc. Xxx
My older son is 9 he help me in the kitchen specially in baking ,cleaning and help in setting the table it’s really good for the kids to involve. Recently my son learn how to cook noodles for himself and tea Nidal’s Love to drink tea in the morning.
Great positive video 😃 thanks Emily. Our homeschooling routine is very similar to yours and we are finding it is really working..... mostly 🤪 one life skill I’ve taught our boys is sorting the laundry into different colours; i then backed it up with an art lesson demonstrating what would happen to a picture if we mixed all the paint colours together. I do use Dr Beckmann colour protect to prevent any little mishaps.... but they don’t need to know that!
Hi Emily I love you and your videos! You are so beautiful and kind and an amazing woman! Stay safe during these scary and confusing times! You got this Emily 👍
Hi Emily, love the life skills idea, you seem to have got a good balance with home schooling. I’m off at the moment with my two boys and I’ve really enjoyed it, I have a star chart that seems to push them into working that little bit more. Such a lovely family. Always enjoy your videos. Take care all of you xx
I love these videos. I am a teen with traits of ASD and these videos really help me and my family form routines in this difficult time. Thank you for your great content keep up the good work! 😀
Emily! I saw that The Happy News have a really sweet print out for kids that has some activities like a page to make their own happy newspaper. That would be another great activity for your boys 😊
You could teach the boys to tie a tie!
You are doing so well Emily, juggling work, teaching, parenting, looking after a home and staying positive! Lots of love.
Good one Juliette! Ah thank you so much. Thank you so much for watching and stay safe xx

Hey Emily, great video as usual! The boys may enjoy learning about camping/camping skills.
I don't know if you have a tent/any camping stuff, but you could do like a "camping skills" session. Putting up a tent, make a fire if you have a fire pit (I know the boys are young.. so supervised obviously). If you have that nice weather it's perfect to spend time outside!
Loved this video.. boys have grown so much 💙 Lil Jackson is a big boy now so cute x

Love your videos, you are so organised. I think it's really important to have some sort of routine to feel more productive and to get things done.
