As a main mage I would never insta-blink cheap shots. If you are doing the pre-running and I don't blink, in the time you realize and come back at me, cheap is almost gone, so I can just save blink, or I can only then blink for a full range advantage and untouched shield.
That's right. It's worth it to test if the Rogue is gonna pre-run or just goes for hemo or even 2. Hemos wont kill you with the shield, but blinking at the wrong time just might end the fight in Rogues favor. If you happen to not have shield up, good Rogue will be even more convinced that you will insta blink and you are even more safe :D

For the AA-Stop: There is Position you dont AA but you can do aSpezial attack. You dont have to do the 180 degree move. Im sure you know that but just in case. 😂
I play rogue and have a mage friend and in classic he was definitely the hardest class to beat, needed spiders belt gyrofreeze trinket and more. But we need a guide on how to 1v1 mages in WOTLK classic because we are at 1800 rating and while I can beat him sometimes it’s HARD AF STILL
