Big time. Same thing with the Volk too. Volk is hella fun to use. SMG mobility in an AR. But the drum mag block your vision even worse than the sten. It’s brutal. Which sucks because I feel like the Volk will be a great Sniper support in WZ. But that mag is brutal.
You are both right, gunsmith is great in this game but they have obscenely overdone the grind. And, being able to have such different builds for the same gun makes it even worse that you can't save your own setups.

Nope. Nerf the strong weapons with low recoil, high damage, fast ttk first then balance the weaker weapons. Normally for a fast ttk there needs to be some kind of tradeoff and some like the STG and mp40 and type 100 have very few if any. Better to wait and see what needs to be buffed bc even the worst/weaker guns ie the svt, BAR, type 100, Owen, volk initially are bad or mediocre at first. But once you hit gun lvl 53 some of these turn into god tier weapons that can spank the meta zombies
The hip fire build is one of my favorites to use. Super fast movement speed with good damage while continuing to strafe. Very fun if you’re looking for a change in play style.
Levelling this gun up hasn't been a fun experience, it's a shame because it was one of my favourites in ww2. Hopefully it gets a small buff to be in line with the other smgs.
I love the sten. It’s niche is the super accurate hipfire and amazing handling times. You can run and gun so smoothly. I think of it as a successor to the Bizon and Uzi from MW
The Sten was the first gun I got gold. It was rough, but the gun grew on me. It's not bad, but every SMG since has been a breeze. My advice is don't use any of the barrels. They're all too niche. The base, like in your first example is the best barrel for the Sten IMHO and it took me a while to realize that sometimes no attachment is just better than picking one just because.
When you do the AS44 you have to try the 3 round burst combined with the 7.62 ammo that thing is a 1 burst to the chest at a pretty decent range and the burst delay is very short. It's so fun and satisfying to use
The Sten can achieve over 14 mph strafe speed with a certain build. It's faster than the movement speed. It takes a little getting used to because you have to ads for a speed boost but man once you get it down, it's crazy fun

One thing that makes me love Vanguard is the fact that you can use almost any gun in the game and still be competitive with them. At least once you level up the gun enough to have the right attachments for it. This is the most fun I've had in cod in a really long time
this was the first gun I got to gold and I hated it for most of the time. Then at the very end when I did the hip fire build it became 10x more fun. I recommend the hip fire build
I noticed a bunch of people saying the sten was awful so I avoided it, then I noticed I had the blueprint for it which had the final mag on, the 20 rounds and man it shreds. Stopped levelling it for this double Xp weekend because I was doing so well with it, thought may as well do "worse" guns first
I hope you cover the burst barrels with the high damage mags if it isn't a 1 burst kill with base ammo in the future, as that is the only way to really use them
Definitely interesting that you highlight mobility and hip fire as strengths of this weapon. I just finished getting gold on it, and it felt like going through the blender (I referred to the grind on the sten specifically as a crucible). But I had fun when using it on Ship Haus for mobility and hip fire, I was zooming.
One of my "hobbies" in CoD is getting so good with a non meta gun, that people will accuse me of cheating because they can't believe their meta class they saw on RUclips isn't enough to save them.
151ms I believe. I'm using this set up with a mercury silencer instead of the recoil booster and that clocks in at 160ms. This gun low key shreds when it's set up properly.
This really demonstrates my biggest problem with the game. Some weapons are basically unusable in an attempt to keep them balanced, this being one of them and the machine pistol being another.
The machine pistol gets better when you get extended mags. I learned that in the Beta, once you get the ammo size and the recoil mastered it can be a mean little pocket smg.
Merc silencer, 248 barrel, choice of optic, s33s padded stock, carver foregrip, 45 acp rounds, incendiary, taped grip, slight of hand, and fully loaded. Three shot burst with min recoil
I love the insane mobility on this gun I just build it for insane ADS walking movement speed (it caps out at 14.7 MPH) and the ACP rounds are really strong
Ace, have you done any testing with combining barrels that boost headshot damage and hollow point ammo type? Just curious if both of these attachments cancel each other out or they boost a guns firepower.
@@Steven_Hockins type 11, wonky iron sights, 5 shot kill and shoots at the same rpm as the volk that has a 4 shot kill. And it’s an lmg so it’s handling is mediocre and doesn’t even have a good recoil pattern either. Also has a 30rd mag that reloads slower than any other normal 30rd mag weapons. There is no good trait about it whatsoever
I was using the hipfire Sten build during a match and i kept hearing the death com from a particular opponent as to how he keeps dying so fast and then at the MVP screen he was asking me what gun i was using lol.... the hipfire build is SO much fun
i thought the sten was kinda average at first but once you level it up and get gung ho, this thing becomes insane with the mobility. you run as fast with the sten as you do with the knife. run the 50 round mags, recoil attachments and gung ho and trust me, you’ll be flying around the map gunning down everyone.
I find the best way to use the sten at its beginning levels are to use it on small maps with hip fire builds, this really helps being as it’s not really the best at anything in the category other than hipfiring
Not sure if you mentioned it or tested it at all but this gun can be built for extremely accurate blind fire. its very funny. your reticle shrinks a lot when you blind fire with the right attachments.
I’m in the midst of getting my smgs diamond. I did the sten 3rd and did not have a good time. Now when I had to do the last challenge with the headshot barrel. If you can aim, the sten is insane. I had 47 headshot kills in a game of das haus
This is my last smg to level up to 70 I got the blueprint that comes with the 20 round mag with extra damage I’m 2 shorting everyone on shipment it’s crazy
what about the Gorenko magazine plus the rapid barrel plus the recoil booster? how fast would that make the ROF and how fast would that kill? if it moves and handles the fastest having it be an up close spray machine might not be bad
Please do hardcore shots to kill stats with the upgrades. I watched the automation video but still not sure if its possible to make it a 1 shot kill in hardcore with attachments...
Correct me if I'm wrong - haven't bothered to play the game since launch - but when you go into the stats page for guns in create-a-class you can see the maximum damage number and you could see if it's 30 damage or not?
For anyone who doesn’t know, death drop is straight broken, got like 4 dogs in 12 kills with it, if u use it and get ur last kill streak u only need 1 more kill to get ur last kill streak again after u die, and u can keep this going and get a ton of top tier streaks without even being close to earning them again.
What if you combine the 7.62 Gorenko mags with the 348mm Hockenson barrel? Do you still get that 112ms TTK potential with a single head shot and also better recoil control?
The pre-order variant is really good actually, it's my most used smg class right now. The only thing is the bad recoil the 45. ACP gives the sten which limits the weapon to around 10 meters...
I haven't used the Sten yet only SMG I've really used is the PPSH and briefly the MP40, but I have heard it's not the best, I want to try out all the guns while double weapon XP is active just so I can get attachments faster to play around with them and see which one I want to use next after I've got gold on the Dinner Plate, there's some guns that probably aren't the best but are fun to use like the double barrel compared to other shotguns seems way less OP but it's fun to use
The sten isn't a bad weapon per se, it just has some really underwhelming attachments. It is kinda speedy and you should always run around like a maniac. It needs a buff though, I agree.

a clear don t do from my experience is use any magazine with minus damage as con. they destroy weapon viability usually.

I would prefer nerfs to stronger guns. That would make weak guns more viable and fix the ttk. A mobility buff would still be great tho

The barrel that improved headshot damage really helped with that challenge, but yeah the barrels kinda suck

Type 100 is underrated
I love the Sten - give it a good go, getting used to the recoil is the hardest bit but it reminds me a lot of the Uzi from MW19

I use burst with 45 acp it's good that way and buff initial recoil control it doesn't move literally
This thing is my best gun so far K/D wise. Set it up right and it's a monster up close with the handling stats and insane TTK.
The Sten is one of my favorite SMGs in hardcore actually! Slap those .45 ACP rounds on and it's a 1 shot anywhere out to the 2nd damage range

He said they don't stack, so just one of them is enough.
Vital damage and limb damage don't interact with each other at all based on the several weapons I've tested this on.

@@emwols the only good trait about the Type 11 is its very high mobility, which is canceled out by how awkward and mediocre the weapon feels to use.
The base ttk of the sten is real slow, the barrel that makes it a 2 shot kill with 1 headshot is an absolute mvp

Frangible (delays healing)
Incendiary (does damage over time after bullet impact)

The 45 ACP round need a buff to 32 mags and remove the fast reload portion.
It's so accurate off the hip, and it's very fast, I enjoy it, but you've gotta get close.

Lots of hand testing but also, the menu states ranges in inches so you can just convert from there

I think it's a pretty decent gun, but I've barely leveled it up. Used the Whirlwood variant for a bit and thought it was working well.
I like the dp27 and I think it works well as a 4 shot kill also for me I go for extended mags only also screw the mp40 and stg44 and people who use it
