Nice to see an attempt at a newer build that utilizes an older subclass. I know a lot of other creators have shied away from mixing the newer book material with older content. Looking forward to more builds to come and the cool secrets that come with that.
One thing to note is that Searing Smite is restricted to the Paladin and Forge Cleric classes. I also would have liked to hear your picks for the 2 weapon mastery weapons, as well as the other 6 spells Ranger would be allowed to learn/prepare but that's more my preference than anything. I always prefer to hearing your insight on what fits best over having free rein to choose something myself. I always like when you name which equipment types from 5e you think that the character would use, such as Chain Shirt as the armor in this video, so I would have liked to hear your picks for weapon(s) as well. Overall good stuff all around! My only real complaint is that we didn't get more of your picks for some of the more niche build specifics.
Searing Smite was added to the Ranger spell list I'm Tasha's. The weapon mastery choices I avoided because it's still new. I'll talk about that stuff in coming videos now that I've spent a few hours studying the new book.
@@63rdLegionGaming 2024 classes unfortunately aren't allowed access to any optional class features from Tasha's that weren't incorporated into the class by default. Example being, 2024 Rogues all get Steady Aim by default now. Some spells from the optional expanded spell lists have been added, but any that weren't aren't usable for characters using the 2024 version of the class, only ones that opt to use the 2014 version.
@@63rdLegionGaming Thats just the general ruling for the optional Tasha's stuff. It was all designed as potential changes for the 2014 classes and a good number of them are now part of the 2024 classes, but the stuff that isn't, simply isn't. I don't necessarily agree with it, but that is the official ruling on how old optional rules interact with revised classes. I actually haven't checked if it works on Beyond yet because my optional features are turned off by default
My first attempt at him was Eldritch Knight, but I change him to Slayer. Don't remember why for the reason, made this so long ago lol When I made this video I was trying to remember why I changed him
I enjoy that you went the StRanger route. This is a good build. I have always pictured Witchers as Reborn or Custom Liniage myself. I never really considered Shifter, but it makes sense.

Sadly if I don't miss and match, I'm officially out of material to pull from

Damn, I got busy today
Jeralt? 😅
Yeah that can happen when I make a character I know nothing about say from reading and and watching clips for their abilities
First! Woot! 🎉

Is 5.5e the official moniker for the latest version of DnD
It is for me lol just using 5.5E for Playlist purposes, if they give it an official name I'll use that
@63rdLegion Gaming Games Tables are about to get really interesting.
Very interesting. Was reading the new PHB yesterday, and damn did my job get easier lol
@63rdLegionGaming I'm in 2 campaigns and I'm gonna ask to convert my PC to the new 5.5e/5.24
I've told my players they can convert if they wish, though the Gloom Stalker was already scary and now I have to deal with the new one lol
