- So I'm working on a video about the gameplay reveal, and it was just much easier for me to work with seperating the story parts from the gameplay, so I can see them all of the story/cutscenes together, and all the combat together (all of it together is was confusing to pick apart). Sorry it's not perfectly edited, I'm up late finsihing a last video before going away and I'm tired.

During the scene where you run to the pillar to knock it down - you overhear a distant Varric and Solas talking - and this is what I was able to decipher (the audio is awkward)
Varric: Me? Take down the Dread Wolf? That’s laughable. No, I just want to ask him a question. Going against the other gods was a disaster.
Solas: They were imprisoned!
Varric: And creating the Veil, that was a disaster. So how is this time going to work out any better? Can you tell me that?
Solas: I understand your hesitance but what I’m doing now must be done. It is simply past your comprehension.
Varric not having a disapprove/approve prompt.
He's so gonna die. ☹☹☹

Maker, I hope not. I want him around to write Rook's story too.
Bianca broke if thats not forshadowing i don‘t know what is.
@@thorson3160 Yeah but the devs keep saying he's a 'major character'- and while I wouldn't it past them to lie, seems a bit sus if hes gonna die 30 minutes into the game lol.
Why on earth would such a powerful mage use a broken statue held up by scaffolding in such an important ritual ?? Surely he'd just fix it magically first ?
After watching this a few times now, my main take away is that I'm going to have to retire my venerable RX 590XT and spend money on a new card. Aside from that, I'm wondering how to activate all those dodge moves. Will the game be controller only? If so, my enthusiasm cools considerabley.
3-5 is a long wait hopefully the release window is locked in.
Can someone explain the appeal to combat in the othee games?
I recently bought inquisition on ps5, but dropped it around the 2hr mark because the combat was pretty just holding R2, so your character would do the attack animation with occasional squar input to get a special ability out.
I tried the turn based mode but it felt clunky.
I plan on going back to it after my vacation just because I heard this series is good and i need something till the monster hunter game
Story, lore, impactful narrative choices, chatacter personalities and backstories.
The combat in these games are sadly secondary compared, and Veilguard seems to not change in that regard.
The combat gets better the further your progress, but yeah at the start of the game combat is depressing boring. I really play the games for the lore and story, although killing dragons and bigger monsters is always significantly more fun
Here's a fix, increase the game's difficulty...
I know, why uh?, the game wasn't balance properly to punish basic attack only runs. Nightmare is pretty fun tho.
That's kinda the thing, there's no appeasing because some want to keep the pace slow and clunky and others wanted it to be a spamming R2 sort of thing. The devs are just there in the middle needing to choose a side. I prefer the fighting style of DA2 with the speed with the look of inquisition as a mage but an RPG isn't supposed to be action oriented. It's about the story so for me that's what matters
The story had better be amazing as the combat is very disappointing. I was hoping for Inquisition style combat or something similar. I really hope that the combat gets better as you progress in the game. The demons don't look as menacing either. Aside from those two complaints I like what I see
What's wrong with the combat? It's at level 1 and they don't have any skills. It looks fast paced but clunky at the same time and I'm going to assume it's because there's not many skills at that level to combo off of. I'm not worried about the combat and the story better be good or I'll be massively disappointed
@@derek8134 I wanted more tactics based like Inquisition. Doesn’t need to be Origins level or do what final fantasy did and have an option to turn that style on
@@donaldburt7581 Inquisitions tactics weren't great. I would rather have Origins Tactics or no tactics at all
@@derek8134 that’s fair. I enjoyed them and so far this new combat style falls flat for me personally. I’ll still get the game but I don’t know if I’ll enjoy it as much. It would have been good to see mage and warrior combat as well as the rogue
@derek8134 The tactics were good, on nightmare difficulty.(Which was awkward)
Combat lacks weight and the enemy designs feel... i dunno modern mmo-ish. And why would Solas bother listening to some nobodies? Where's the Inquisitor? The only person who actually confronts him directly in Trespasser
