'Lay All Your Love On Me' was taken from the 'Abba-esqe' EP, originally released in June 1992, the EP reached number 1 in the UK charts, Erasure's only number 1 single. The video was directed by Jan Kounen, who also produced Erasure's 'Always' video. The EP also features 'Take A Chance On Me', 'SOS' and 'Voulez-Vous'.

I still remember the first time I heard this, exactly thirty years ago! I was only 19, very confused, to put it mildly, but music was my anchor and solace. Songs like this are part of the reasons I am still here today, grateful and aware, alive and active, and still a dreamer! Thank you Vince and Andy. Be well!

Was it really thirty years ago??? Wow, it show's how far ahead of the curve they were as that pre-dates the Abba revival of the 21st century. It also makes me suddenly feel old as I remember Erasure when I was still at school and I'm in my early 50s now!😲

@@sfinn85 I have 'oh lamour' on 7 inch vinyl somewhere in my record collection. I think that was their breakthrough song. Must have been in 1986 when I was still at school. I saw Erasure live about five years ago and still sounds fantastic.
Vince really did a lot with his synths. I cannot believe the amazing sounds he used. And a lot of them!! All analog equipments.
Well, for one thing, he has *a lot* of synths to work with. ;)
@@rbrtck Yet somehow Bjorn and Benny did better with their synth (a GX-1). This is a funny campy version of the song and for that, Erassure did great.
I believe Vince used the same BBC B micro for years as a sequencer (although he finally gave in to progress and now uses a Mac laptop). In many ways he was ahead of the game back in the 80s, researching the equipment available and what it could do. I wonder if he still uses his analogue synths or if he's moved on from those.

I'm Swedish, and I've been a big ABBA-fan since around 1976. I must say I LOVE the "ABBA-esgue"-EP. It's brilliant.

this is the one and only moment of Abba that touches basic emotions. as a swede, I hate Björn and Benny. Ingmar Bergman, Bridget of Sweden and August Strindberg made Sweden respected but Abba destroyed everything with their horrible music. but thanks to Andy's voice, you actually feel this song and not just hear it.

Here we have the Erasure guys riding on shiny silver motorcycles in shiny golden outfits. I wonder why they didn't get into an accident with their motorcycles while shooting this video. The girls in the beginning of the video look so fairytale-pretty, they are just awesome.

Plenty of people care that they're gay in this day and age. Erasure were absolute pioneers in their time for this type of shit, and still campaign and play in support of LGBTQ charities to this day.
Just because someone says something is gay, doesn't automatically mean they mean it in a negative fashion. Nothing about the original comment struck me as using the word in a negative context, i mean, the guy literally says "No seriously, i love erasure!".
