You can see her uncle, Michael, running around filming everything. I wonder if it will go into the Angelina Jordan museum, along with Mery's videos, to document to our grand-children and great-grand-children (etc.) why we were all so captured by her.
You need to turn up the volume some for us on the video. She’s eleven here, not twelve. Yes, she sings the whole concert, someone recently said 16 songs! So you can actually listen to her all day on this one!
Alex, This jazz band traveled throughout Norway with Angelina, during her early concert tours for several years. Angelina performed "Cry Me a River" with 4 different Bands, along with the Norwegian Military Orchestra. Every performance throughout Norway and Europe increases her confidence and maturity, in performing live in front of an audience.
Hi, Alex! Thank you for another excellent reaction to an Angelina ,performance. From 1955, when I first heard Julie London sing this song, up until 2017 I was firmly of the belief that it was impossible for any singer to perform it better than Julie. Then a young 11-year-old Norwegian child decided she wanted to include it as one of the songs on her first CD "It's Magic" and uploaded videos to RUclips. From the first time I heard her rendition, Julie was demoted to second place. I doubt that anyone else will be able to sing this song as emotionally as Angelina during my lifetime,
This girl IS music! Her musical intuition, especially with respect to her vocalization and timing to convey the emotion of the song, in my opinion is unmatched. I would presume that the musicians who back her are the best available. i would think they are lining up to have a chance to make music with her.
These songs filmed on audience phones...have not gone through any editing. Everybody says she is one of the few artists who are better live. One thing many people have pointed out, the minute she stops singing she is instantly a little girl again.
One of my favourites. Did uou do her 10 years old IM HOLDING OUT FOR YOU. Its one of her very best when does 10, along with FEELING GOOD which I know you did.
This was the Proysenfestivalen in 2017. Other highlights include: Diamonds Are Forever, Where Are You Now?, and the opening number, Loving You. There's sound enhanced versions out there where some of the camcorder sound has been cleaned up a little and Angelina's voice is a little clearer. Another great reaction.
It's like a soothing lounge song. very laid back feeling. So much soul in this bluesy jazzy performance. The bands she gathers always seem to play very tight together.
Yup, she makes every note a song itself. I can't count how many reactors have said they finally understand, or even pay attention to the lyrics when she sings.
An 11 year old girl with a huge band in the middle of the forest in rural Norway performing one of the best versions of Cry Me a River ever. In this smooth and beautiful version she is on level with what Ella Fitzgerald did at age 45. Like Ella she uses her voice at times like a wind instrument. The whole concert is absolutely fantastic, not because of a child is singing. Very few professional artist could perform at this level. Thanks to our friend (and archangel) Boris for capturing those magical performances. Without him, nobody would believe that something magical as this had ever happened.
Stellar cover!!!! Angelina gives us velvety notes that glide with incredible sweetness on the text of this jazz masterpiece, the musicians who accompany the Jordan are always of the highest quality, on the other hand I can only imagine the pleasure for a musician of accompany singers like Billy, Ella or Aretha and here we are on the same track, accompanying Angelina means a more unique than rare opportunity to demonstrate one's talent, thanks Alex, excellent review, from Italy....Massimo👍
This is one of 13 songs at this concert, which is my favorite concert by Angelina. The band and Angelina played a number of concerts in the summer of 2017, but this one, to me, stands above the others. This song is my choice for if I could only listen to one song for the rest of my life.
This performance is a Master Class on smooth, sophisticated jazz by an 11 yo jazz master. I still get goosebumps when I hear this & I've heard it 100's of times. This is a top 10 song for me, & when you are talking about Angelina performances, that's really saying something.
Yes, Alex, the band is great. Angelina has always had great musicians around her. She was, and is, very professional and respectful of them and really knew what would best fit her arrangements. On top of that she is a joy to work with. If you watch the rehearsals and pre performance warmups you will see that she has a great sense of humor and is a lot of fun. She then immediately snaps into serious mode when the music starts.
This concert was in Norway on July 21st. There was something special about this event, previous concerts that summer were really good, this was on another level. We don't have professional recordings, that was not allowed, here Boris Palenovski filmed it on a basic camcorder. From the opening number it was clear that Angelina was deep in the groove and the band was on fire! There was such a variety in the type of song, with Angelina working it according to what the musicians could give her. This song has that vulnerability, melancholy, that only Angelina can make us feel. The following year, with the military band, Angelina gave us a more assertive, powerful rendition of the song, both incredibly good renditions.
Please be aware that your volume is 75% higher than the volume of Angelina’s Live Performance video? So pleas, if you care to do so, make the appropriate volume adjustments on your next reaction videos. Thanks You for sharing your thoughts and feedback on the Barefoot Princess Angelina Jordan.
She used the same band from 8 years old until she left for LA she has always done the arrangement of the song and the band, they call her the Boss. They had a great understanding.
So true Blaster. Even with "Yesterday", I had never paid attention to the lyrics (even though I knew them) until Angelina gave them her melancholy voice and phrasing.
Her 2017 version and 2018 version of this song are quite different from each other in style because the ensemble is totally different. This 2017 version (when she was just 11 years old) is a much more jazzy and bluesy version and I also prefer this version to the the later one. But still, also the 2018 version is very good. And you really have to hear both of them to know which one is your personal favorite. In 2018 version her voice is a little bit more mature but in this 2017 her singing and and the tone of her voice are extremely beautiful. In 2018 version there is a big orchestra with clarinets and the arrangement is totally different.
Ultimate immersion and relaxation with the incredible tone, timing and control of Angelina Jordan. Forget the age, you can't get better than this at any age! What a performance by the band too. My favourite concert by Angelina (check the other songs out; they are all excellently performed). My favourite concert so far that is!
Alex. I've probably heard this song a hundred times and I'm always blown away. Angelina's interpretation alone is simply a master class! When I was little, I had a friend here in Hamburg and his brother was an absolute jazz fan. And even then, around 1956, I was often with him in the " Kasematten " in the city center and even then bands from Norway and Denmark were playing here in Hamburg. The Scandinavian countries were already known back then because they played great jazz.
Hi! I think Google Translate has let me down - or possibly I'm too dense to understand - but the translation given for " Kasematten " is "Casemates", which means nothing to me. Your help would be very much appreciated, please?
@@alberttenfoot Google Translator is right - it’s called casemates in English. “RiverKasematten” was a famous jazz club in Hamburg from 1957 to 1986. Among the artists were greats like Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Ella Fitzgerald, even the Beatles. It was located in a vaulted cellar structure next to the harbor (and the Elbe River) - hence the name. Due to various floods in the early 1980s it was finally abandoned. Although it was called a casemate (because of the vaulted structure), it was never part of the city's fortifications - which is the actual meaning of that term: The term referred to a vaulted chamber in a fortress, possibly used as a warehouse, accommodation, or artillery position that could fire through an opening or embrasure. Although the exterior surfaces of brick or masonry casemates proved vulnerable to advances in artillery performance, the invention of reinforced concrete allowed newer designs to be manufactured well into the 20th century.
She has all the right combinations; confident while being humble, her talents demanding the attention and spotlight while not personally demanding it and white her talent and charisma showing so much stage presence it’s amazing. Great reaction, thanks
I think we all understand how are you try to express in words… Angelina is a storyteller! As with a good book, you're transported to another time, another place. Wait until you hear this at 16. 😇🌺
And this is why an 11 year old gets her own stage.
You can see her uncle, Michael, running around filming everything. I wonder if it will go into the Angelina Jordan museum, along with Mery's videos, to document to our grand-children and great-grand-children (etc.) why we were all so captured by her.
she sing like she been singing for 30 years but she 11! In her first life she sang to GOD 🙂
Interesting to see yet another reactor become a fan of this astonishing artist
Oh there is an entire concert alright! Sooo goood! Diamonds Are Forever!
Gotta review LOVIN YOU Live dude,it's all jazz!! It's like a different person
This whole concert was EXCELLENT.

She makes you feel the music understand the words she’s singing directly to you from her spirit do your spirit is a child prodigy
One of my favourites. Did uou do her 10 years old IM HOLDING OUT FOR YOU. Its one of her very best when does 10, along with FEELING GOOD which I know you did.
That's actually a trombone and not a trumpet. Yes, that was a full concert.
I think I get what you're saying. For Angelina each word is a blank canvas for her to paint a masterpiece.
Sie ist so unglaublich. Ich kann es kaum in Worte fassen. Sie singt in meine Seele.

11 yo here; recorded in 2017 - one year B4 AJ moved to L.A.
Yes you should hear her sing Diamonds Are Forever, and It’s a Man’s World at this same concert. The very best! Oh, also Lovin You

This is the magic of Angelina, you don’t hear her sing, you FEEL her sing. Great reaction Alex!
Yes yes yes!!!
It's impossible to explain this phenomenon !!!
You must FEEL only!!!
This is one of my go to songs from Angelina. Her voice is butter smooth and delicious.
Major props to the band members.

Love your reviews, for your further reviews just gotta remember she was born in 2006 so math is easy in regards to her singing 🎶

This one was so soft and smooth, and the other one was like a Bond song, two strikingly different versions, and both excellent, it is truly amazing.
Awesome reaction and she does a lot of amazing songs in this Concert, God Bless!

The Lovin YOU Live song is on after your previous review of Cry Me A River
Alex, I discovered that when I listen to Angelina cover songs I’ve heard many times I am paying attention to the lyrics for the first time.
Yes. Every time she sings, she has us so captivated and on edge of our seat listening to every word.
So true Blaster. Even with "Yesterday", I had never paid attention to the lyrics (even though I knew them) until Angelina gave them her melancholy voice and phrasing.
I have found that, too! She makes everything seem like it's the first time. That's real creative genius.

Was she the best 11 year old jazz singer of all time?
