I’m sure I’m not the only one who’d pay good money to spend an evening at a jazz concert with Angelina singing. She does/ did the European Jazz circuit
Angelina is 11.5 years old here. How to explain this brilliant performance? Only that she is a wonderful child! Something incredible, something wonderful! Genius!
I've got my earphones on and while writing this I can't see the video. Just hearing the audio one pictures an adult singer but this kid is all of eleven years old here. Angelina is beyond words when it comes to her voice and her ability to use it to the greatest effect.
Her change-up of the delivery is amazing. How does she even understand the words to change them up to a completely new delivery and still retain the essence of the song. Unbelievable.
Excellent interpretation. I loved how, in the rehearsal video of this song, while she's singing she mugs cry-faces for the camera interspersed with sky giggles and chuckles. So pro.
This is such a great version of this song. She does another version the next year with a full orchestra. It is also great, but different than this one. The thing you mentioned how she just blended into the pitch instruments. She does that often. Her pitch is so perfect that sometimes when she as she finishes a note it just melts right into the instruments. Also... when she was looking at the ground at the end.... if you look closely, you will see that she has her whole set laid out on the ground across the stage. She is probably looking down to see the next song ;)
I think she has the absolute ear like Mozart, she dont need notes. I see often when she Play a new song on her piano she seek the perfect notes to her singing.
Oooo I am impressed! Need to put candles out, grab a bottle of wine and just absorb that song!! Absolutely wonderful ❣️♥️❣️ wonderful reaction. You catch alot of things I wouldn't notice!! WTG!!
Finally, my number one in this concert! A rare, so rare gem! Especially when the Mr Trombone solo comes in so in tune with Angelina's bluesy tone that it seems that they both are individualized in one: that is what we called pure jazz. And the applause of the audience attests to that. You got it, HAP, you got the secret of the magic of jazz right there! At the end, for her look on the floor, all her papers for her songs are spread as reminders to guide her. Look at the 0:53 mark.
Thanks for featuring this song. It was written by Arthur Hamilton in 1963 and made famous by Julie London.I immediately fell in love with Julie - well I was a very impressionable young man then - She recorded it in 1955 and it became her signature tune. I first heard it when it was first recorded and Julie became my favourite singer of this song., that is, until I heard this version by Angelina. Not bad for a child of 11 years!
Yes it is the same stage. This is Anglina at her best, she green update doing these songs. Love it could listen to her all night And Thanks for the back to back reactions Great song choice on both great reaction
I only need my popcorn so I had a kind of full movie night maraton. To bad it is morning here in Norway.....but I have started my vacation so why not spend the time with you and Angelina. Both beautiful persons🤩
I was thinking of Ella Fitzgerald first when I heard the title. After all bluez, jazz, swing, bebop would be more suitable for AJs style. She is a gem!
Mark Lang Well, there she goes. Again took a song already performed by many of the greats and made it hers! I doubt I will be able to hear it any other way now. The Band was absolutely perfect tonight! Right to the top of her play list!
Angelina has perfect pitch. She always is right on key when she comes in to instrumentation or when she goes from a cappella to instrumentation. Her playlist is on the floor.
She's one of the best jazz singer now. It's so beautiful, I can hear it everyday 💖🤗here she had musicians that can follow her flow. When she was 9 years she sang "my funny valantine", a wonderful but difficult (not for her) jazz song. There the musicians have much problems. When she looks to the floor, there she read the lyrics
Music is a strange vice. I remember my nieces asking me about music years ago. They were playing their latest top track Coolio's Gangsta Paradise. Their jaws dropped when I said I preferred the original Stevie Wonder version, which I then played! There is very little in the way of "new" popular music. Angelina's performance brings new life to these classic songs, which I hope introduces them to this generation existing in mostly mediocre offerings. Waiting for your Queen by Angelina reactions. Like your style man...
It's amazing to be able to watch such a talent grow up and evolve infront of our eyes. Thank you world wide web! What a treat. I'm not normally fan of jazz, but ANGELina has brought JAZZ into many new hearts, that's a fact. This I can listen to, it swings good. #JazzFact ;)
......and ive gone thru all of AJs songs listening to your reactions! Wow! Love them! Nearly as much as i love her music. Can you look at Adele's song A Million Years sung by AJ. Many say it is a better version.
Julie London originally sang this. It was written especially for Julie by her childhood friend Arthur Hamilton. It is sung by Julie in a lush, bluesy style. When first heard by fellow colleagues in radio and music it received an instantaneous and enthusiastic response. As a result, Liberty Records released it as a single in 1955 catapulting Julie to instant success as a singer. Julie went on to a successful recording (32 albums primarily as a "torch" singer) and acting career including several movies and appearing for several seasons on the American television series "Emergency" (1972-1978) as nurse Dixie McCall. She was married to costar Bobby Toup (Jazz pianist, singer, songwriter, actor) for 40 years (1959-1999). He passed away in 1999 at 80 and Julie a year later at 74. They had 3 children. Julie's parents were a vaudeville song and dance act who debuted Julie's singing talent at age 3 on their radio show. Julie and her mom loved Billie Holiday who greatly influenced Julie's singing. Julie began singing professionally in Los Angeles nightclubs at age 14 (1940) until her true age was discovered. Her first movie was in 1944 and she also modeled for Esquire magazine during WWII and became a much sought after pinup girl by G.I.s. Amazing how parts of her career aren't that different from Angelina's. Julie was always described by those around her as sweet, happy and a bit shy. She rarely granted interviews. Thanks for your continuing support of and reactions to Angelina.
Just listen to that trombone as it's _crying a river_ The interaction between Angelina and Sigurd Evensen (trombone) is magic. The way they weave the web of music together, alternating and filing the empty spaces thread by thread .... . It's just one of those moments when the sum is more than adding up the individual components. btw, the song was written by *_Arthur Hamilton_* in 1953 and the first official release in 1955 was sung by Julie London.
Julie London sang it as I remember, she was married to Bobby Troup (not sure of spelling} she went on to marry Jack Webb of Dragnet radio and TV fame later on...bobby Troup , wrote " get your kicks on route 66, he was a good singer and composer
Dear HAP3SPEAKZ. She is 11 years old here. Just wait until you get to when she becomes 12. Then her voice will begin to mature, and so begins goosebumps time - Enjoy!
Have you done I, ll Be There by MJ from a charity concert. She gave her winnings from Norways Got Talent to charity. Does lots of charity concerts but she changes the arrangement of MJ was only 7/8 at the time. This Cry Me A River is typical Angelina she loves these Golden Oldies and suits her voice. 🤗🤗🤗💘💘
There is an improved version of songs done in this concert eliminating the poor recording quality. The song "Faded" is vastly improved. But none the less she does incredible things with her voice.
You were wondering why AJ keeps moving about looking down. she has her notes and lyrics laid on the floor which she glance through every now and then but she doesnt need any notes at all. nothing technically wrong ....... very elegant and nice version of the song
This jazz standard always belonged to Julie London, until Angelina sang it and made it her own. Oh, yes, she has rehearsed it. Here is a very funny rehearsal video that her grandmother shared. It looks like serious work until about the 2:37 mark where she begins to ham it up hilariously. I think you will love it. ruclips.net/video/FjbSTRonqEU/видео.html
Nice reaction, "Cry Me a River" was first released in 1955, with the voice of Julie London. This is definitely a much more jazz version of this classic with an band that Angelina played with in concerts that summer. Angelina is truly extraordinary for the vocal quality of her warm and slow voice, it is an extraordinary performance with a very nice interaction between Angelina's voice and the band's instruments create a real jam session with Angelina at the center. If you prefer a version with a different sound you can listen to the concert with the Military Band, the next year, that is the same with she register the version of this song on his album "It's Magic" ruclips.net/video/ViNgjfrc1dQ/видео.html
I’m sure I’m not the only one who’d pay good money to spend an evening at a jazz concert with Angelina singing. She does/ did the European Jazz circuit
Angelina is always lucky with great jazz bands. And maybe great jazz groups are lucky enough to play with Angelina ?
Angelina is 11.5 years old here. How to explain this brilliant performance? Only that she is a wonderful child! Something incredible, something wonderful! Genius!

That is one hell of a trombone player.
Her change-up of the delivery is amazing. How does she even understand the words to change them up to a completely new delivery and still retain the essence of the song. Unbelievable.
My favorite version of this song, before Angelina, was by Julie London. Give real creds to the trombone player.
I am 67 and I used to love Julie London singing this when I was around 10
Thank you for your comment and my sincerest gratitude to welcoming you to the channel. (Copyrighted HAP3SPEAKZ) ©️
She makes every song her own 💞
In this song, her voice is like warm butter and syrup melting across my heart and soul.
Excellent interpretation. I loved how, in the rehearsal video of this song, while she's singing she mugs cry-faces for the camera interspersed with sky giggles and chuckles. So pro.

@@hans-georgschroter7887 very exactly!!!!She has absolute ear!!!!!
Again, her talent as an arranger comes to light. She can take any song and make it blues, or just sing the (whatever) out of it and make it her own.
Oooo I am impressed! Need to put candles out, grab a bottle of wine and just absorb that song!! Absolutely wonderful ❣️♥️❣️ wonderful reaction. You catch alot of things I wouldn't notice!! WTG!!

A human being has to be at peace within themselves to experience this peace.
Dear sir, AJ rearranged all the songs she sang to her liking. You called it Angelina Dust. :-)
Finally, my number one in this concert!
A rare, so rare gem!

I got to put a well done to the band"Angelina is always great" the local bands that play for her are exceptional with jazz.

Trying to sound like one of the instraments is a very Billie Holiday thing. Angelina cut her teeth on Billie Holiday. Literally!
