- Installing one of our own fabricated 4” Narrowed Beams on one of our customers lovely UK ‘67 RHD Beetle!
A super rough guide showing the installation of torsion bars, trailing arms and the unit into the car itself. Also showing some details of this particular narrowed beam, the parts needed & recommended for install.
Please excuse the ‘raw-ness’ of this video. I’m much better at building parts and cars than I am at RUclips... This video is recorded and edited in entirety on my IPhone. A better video budget may come in time!

You explained it so well. Very easy to follow and learn. Thank you
Awesome job. Easy to follow. Thanks a lot for sharing. Cheers from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺.
Thank you so much for this! It is very beneficial to me
Great video and channel. Just subbed. Love the VW content
nice job mate!
Awesome video, thanks for sharing!
Installing a 2"beam on a 59 Ragtop soon. Wish me luck. Be safe.

Hey how much is this beam
@@rickrossmechanic65 Have a look on our webisite here for beam prices: evaresto.co.uk/collections/beam-workshop
Thanks!
Awesome video 👍
Thank you! Means a lot 👍🏻
Great video! Did you make an adjustment video? I bought a car that had a narrowed beam in it and it’s bottomed out so I’m trying to understand how to bring it back up
Im looking for the same thing!! I have this on my 67 beetle but looking for a video to show me how to adjust lower - or a shop in the San Fernando Valley that specializes in this. Did u find anything??
@@user-pc3xb4hd8i I was able to bring mine up with the jack bolt
If my beam hits the body what do I need to do to make it fit? Or do I need to do body modification
Wher can I get one of them? Any how much?
What do you do on these beams with no steering stops.
No caster shims needed?
Really struggling with my beam trying to get leaves back through, round them and all that, but had to be hammered back through.
And what’s the best option for an adjuster that’s already cross threaded? Drill out and retap? Mine was cross threaded when I bought it and trying to fix it now 😩
I Just put some thru rods an air shocks i just narrow my beam 4inches an put Monroe air shocks plummed into an air tank valves an compressor tires tuck in nice.
Subbed
Good video Max. Tell me, what would the reason be for being able to install three of the four Trading arms without any problem whatsoever and then the fourth just will not fit? It’s almost as if the internal diameter of the recess in the beam is too small, and that thepolyurethane bushes are stopping the Trading arm from driving in. It’s one of your beams and it works lovely, but I am absolutely stumped on this. I’ve lost three weekends trying to figure it out!
Hey man!
Sounds like a pain… I do have some idea what it could be though and I’ve experienced it a lot!
Have you checked the arm for straightness? I’ve had a load of bent ones in the past…. They’re hard to spot but literally won’t fit for anything.
I would suggest trying the other side arm in the side you’re having trouble with. If it fits in like you’d expect, then you have an issue with the arm and not the beam…
If you get stuck, drop me an email please

Where did you buy the narrow 4" torison leaves?
Where is the follow up video showing how the height was adjusted ?!
Why put a narrow front end in? Is it to make the car easier to flip over?
Narrowing the beam let’s you fit wider tires inside the fender wells or just make it look cool
Do you sell the beams and part ?
Do the torsion leaves not need greased.
I know right? This is the only video I didn’t see them rubbed with grease
Didn't watch till the end then?
Think greasing the torsion arms then th nipples should be fine.
@@GT.Bugger hey smart guy I did. But they usually rub the leaves down with grease. That’s what I was talking about
@@CHAPMANBOUND filling the beam via the grease nipples does pretty much the same job.
