I stumbled on your channel after jumping into the VW world with both feet and probably head first. I bought a 74 standard beetle and a 71 fastback. Both are in fairly good shape the Bug needs a frame head and a few minor repairs. They both have been sitting for a 15yrs or more. I have started the Bug, it sounds good. I am picking up a good bit of knowledge watching your videos. Just wanted to say thanks for your time. I live in Alabama so I understand the heat and humidity you are dealing with
Very helpful. I want to be able to adjust my height (front and back) just a bit. And don't want to take it all apart to make a small change. Thanks for covering the basics and options rather than just what you are personally choosing. Keep up the great videos. I'll be there for each one.
I fee you, takes me back home to 1986 in Colorado driving my slammed POS 72 bug. Select a drop, Kraco stereo with some kind of cheap and colorful EQ/Amp with 6 x 9's cranking Dokken. Good times man. Oh yea, she was rolling on Pirellis all the way around, if I recall I bough them at Randys VW Stuff.
Hi, i am working in a 68 bettle, the manual says that the stock angle for the spring plate is arround 16º, but i cant find the reference from where i must mesure that angle, i have two versions: 1) the mesure shoud be made form the ground. 2) the mesure should be made from the asembled position of the spring plate (When its loeaded and resting i the torsion bar support, please could you clarify ths?, Thanks!
Just an observation concerning the notching of the spring plates…. If I did it I would then weld on a reinforcement plate below the notch if that’s a concern! Is there a clearance problem?
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Best video on this subject on youtube!
