    i have the ac (wifi wireless version) and am very happy with it. i currently have an intel 13900k, gigabyte 4090 gaming oc on it. working with it has been super easy and simple. only issue i have is the ssd nvme drives being only pcie 4 and not 5.

    • @ALKtech
      @ALKtech  Год назад +2

      Sweet, how's the performance of the 13900K with this board? Are you able to get max performance out of it with the Z790 UD AC?
      But yeah, pity about the M.2 slots being Gen 4 at best - Intel doesn't have native Gen 5 support for M.2 drives for its 700-series chipsets (though there are Z790 boards with Gen 5 M.2 slots, but these implementations will rob the PCIe 5.0 x16 graphics card slot of bandwidth).

    • @RyanLBC
      @RyanLBC Год назад

      @@ALKtech that's a good point and i don't think a performance difference will be really noticeable at this time on a gen 5 ssd as some early previews/reviews of crucial's p5 gen 5 have shown. overall, perfomance of the 13900k has been great with some tested overclocking so far. however, the only issue i've had was that i had to purchase a new cpu contact frame from thermal grizzly. as gamersnexus researched in the past, the cpu would exceed 95 and hit 100 degrees due to uneven surface contact from an aio or air cooler. this has been caused by the warping or slight bending of the cpu by contact frame from all intel-based boards for both 12 and 13th gen chips. after installing the thermal grizzly contact frame my temps have dropped a whopping 15 degrees to a max temp of 85 on full load on cinebench. during game it has been great at 75 on games such as cyperpunk 2077 at ultra graphics setting@4k.

    • @ALKtech
      @ALKtech  9 месяцев назад

      Are you able to share the prices of both boards? For me, price would be the ultimate deciding factor here - the Z790 gives you the ability to overclock should you decide to drop in a K-series CPU in the future (though it might not make sense seeing as you're going with a 14600, where it'd be unlikely you'd wanna upgrade to a 14900K in the future), while the B760 board looks nicer aesthetically and is better in some aspects (e.g. it has a better audio codec).

    Why there is a label of PCIEX1_1 right under PCIEX16 (PCIe 5.0) but no pcie slot? Did they deliberately miss it out during manufacturing? Contact points are exposed.

      Sharp eyes! It's because Gigabyte makes a variant of this board, the Z790 UD AC that comes with built-in WIFI 5, where the PCIe slot configuration is different versus the Z790 UD non-AC. The AC comes with a full-length PCIe 3.0 x16 slot that operates at x1 mode, which is situated beneath the PCIe 5.0 x16 slot. I guess Gigabyte used the same base PCB for its Z790 UD variants!

      You can hook it up to ATX_12V_2X4_1, which is the left connector. What processor are you using with this board though? If you're using a high-end processor such as a Core i5-13600K etc, you'll want to consider upgrading your PSU to something that has two 8-pin ATX12V CPU power cables, as the second ATX12V connector is meant to supply additional power to power-hungry processors!

      @@NACLGames since Dawar78 wasn't intending to overclock at all, I ran with the assumption that the MSI would be quite a bit cheaper than the Z790 UD (which is the case if you were to buy from places such as Newegg). If both boards were to cost exactly the same however, I'd get the Gigabyte Z790 for sure since it has better features! Do note that the Z790 UD in this video doesn't have WIFI built-in, you'll have to get the Z790 UD AC or Z790 UD AX if WIFI is a must.

      How many rgb fans will work on this? I have 5 and a 360mm aio cooler. Will it all work?

      @@Bakerman_console are the 5 case fans connected to a fan/RGB hub that terminates in a single aRGB/RGB header? Also, I assume that your AIO has two aRGB connectors (one for the pump and one for the three RGB fans)?
      This board comes with two aRGB connectors and two RGB connectors - you'll have to count how many RGB connectors that your current setup has - chances are you'll need a RGB/fan hub for everything to work.

      @ALKtech so I'm using the vetroo al600 mid tower case it has 3 Pre-Installed argb case fans in front, then a 120 mm fan in the back and 120mm fans on the power supply thing but I'm also wondering if I should purchase a air cooler or use a 360mm aio

    looking at getting the cheapest but also not the shittest mobo for a build for my Mrs and think ive settled on this now, against similar priced that have 14+1+1 phase power this has 16+1+1 and it has enough heatsinks. the cheaper ones will be roasting man

      Yeah I personally think this class of motherboard is the sweet spot for a Z790 offering that should do well with high-end 13th Gen processors, especially if you don't need bells and whistles like RGB bling, fancy gamer aesthetics and such!
