All these arguments about the ban making things worse is pointless. Can any of these defenders prove that for example the pit bull ban had made things worse? All you need to know is to look at the number of reports of people being killed by pit bulls in the USA where the breed isn't banned, and compare it to the UK. Unlike feelings, facts work and the safety of the rest of the population matters more than the feelings of a select few who don't care about how others get hurt by these dogs.
The ban has not come soon enough! People complaining need to stop for a minute and think about the damage these dogs have done. I guarantee if anyone opposed to the ban had been attacked themselves or lost a child or loved one to an XL bully attack they w ould have a very different view. The sheer size and capabilities of these dogs makes them too much of a risk to be in public: coupled with their incredible tolerance for pain, they are near impossible to stop. This breed along with some of the large mastiffs like the Cane Corso and Presa Canario are totally unsuitable for suburban living, as are many the livestock guardians like the Kangal. The dangerous dog act must be revised to encompass more of these breeds.
i will even add the other big dogs that need to work on farms like the German Shepherds. Even guard dogs like Dobermans and other fighting dogs like the rotties should not live in cities because they are not meant to be in such a densely populated area where they do nothing much. I love dogs and admire the different breeds but I also respect what the big breeds are capable of especially the fighting dogs such as the bully breeds, Akita, etc. Their mauling ability should not be taken for granted and trivialized.
Nonsense. The dog can run around when wearing a muzzle. Muzzles should fit properly and allow the dogs to pant. 23 people in the UK have been killed by bully dogs in the last 3 years. Scotland has had to quickly bring in legislation because Bullys have been moved up from England to Scotland due to the ban and the danger is so great.
Dogs aren't the danger. Irresponsible breeders and ill-fitting owners are. While there can be bad dogs once in a blue moon, like humans, nurture not nature is the main culprit.
While I fully support the XL bully ban this woman is right with what she is saying for good dog owners, active dogs like hers would struggle going from retrieving a ball for exercise possibly twice a day to just walking around in a muzzle, it just doesn’t tire them out so will be destructive and unfulfilled in the house
Can you publish the accurate truthful statistics with breed report details please? I only know of illegal dog fights in hidden secret betting rings. I have never seen a large bull type attack Their behaviour is usually coming up from the victims back to go for the throat which is how a lion kills a gazelle etc.
no matter who owns the dog, certain dog types have a higher percentage of being aggressive no matter how best you are at training them, all will have that one day when there not in the mood and snap, i own lurchers one of the best kind to have around kids but even i know they cannot be 100% trusted as for xl bully breads i would say there a greater chance of snapping and with greater damage done.
Agree. While I love dogs (and cats), I know that big dogs, especially fighting dogs, will always pose a threat since I will never know which one will turn on me or hurt other dogs/cats and humans. That is why we have small dogs only. Big dogs don't belong in cities or towns because they are densely populated and they won't be happy just sitting around and waiting for walks compared to being in the countryside doing what they were bred to do like herding sheep and cattle and protecting livestock. However, no one should have bred fighting dogs in the first place. These poor dogs can't help their aggression because it is genetics but they were bred by people who love blood sport as entertainment. EVIL humans breeding dogs that are now menacing communities.
Most of the XL Bully dog owners don't seem particularly intelligent or well educated. The ones that were protesting were of a certain social standing and class shall we say, typically covered in tattoos.

Proof. Evidence?
i will even add the other big dogs that need to work on farms like the German Shepherds.
23 people killed so far. how utterly appalling. Dogs cannot wear muzzles all the time.
