Thanks so much! This is what happens when you let an engineer get involved in construction.. 😂

Lacquer thinner will take care of those spots.

Thanks for the tip! We had that thought but figured it might melt the surface, should have tried it on a scrap.

Featherboards will help a lot with those tablesaw cuts. PVC trim is so floppy in long lengths that it's hard to get clean cuts without holding it close to the blade, and featherboards do that well.

Good tip! The ole Craftsman needs an upgrade 😆

Lacquer thinner will clean off those spots on Azec and PVC

Yeah measuring fastener locations is something I've almost never seen on professional carpentry anywhere. Yet it can make a big difference in final appearance. A great example is decks, whether screw heads are plugged or not.

So true, especially when they aren't in a straight line! It would take a few more seconds to snap a chalk line, I've noticed this on so many decks 😆

I’ve done this before on certain projects. It all depends on budgets. It cost money to pay workers and customers will often try to negotiate the price down.
As with any product (as well as service) there are upgrades that cost more.

Yep definitely! Time is money when you're doing it for a living

Are you at all concerned about PVC expansion/contraction on longer runs?

What about the inside I’m surprised you guys haven’t moved in yet. you should be on drywall by now.

I guess there’s nothing wrong with taking your time with building things. Plus, this is just one part of the total build. The main house will be the focus.

Yep! Construction is stressful and much less fun when there's timelines attached, like real-world construction 😆 Working at our own pace, taking plenty of breaks, learning new skills, and filming/editing/sharing the whole project definitely takes way more time, but it makes it a really enjoyable project. As the saying goes, it's more about the journey than the destination!

Its ALL about the journey! If you don't understand that the journey is the real treasure, you'll never get to the destination! Yes, you have to start, with the end in mind, but enjoying the journey will keep you together, AND happy!
Great stuff. Any reason for not sealing all those gaps on the facias? Mastic is flexible, so it would move with heat-expansion, AND, waterseal everything?
      Great job.👍👍👍👍
