I'm using Caran d'Ache Neocolor II water soluble wax pastels, and acrylic paint to have fun in my sketchbook and paint on a small canvas. There has been a longstanding feud between the frog and the fly. It started when the frog trying to eat the fly of course but he slipped at the last minute and he missed. The fly would taunt the frog every time he escaped. Making the frog have to come up with more creative ways to catch the fly. And in turn, the fly had to think of more creative ways to escape. It slowly became the highlight of each other’s day. On the 28th day, the fly didn’t fly as fast and the frog was quicker than he’d ever been and caught the fly. And as the frog relished in his victory, dancing and jumping around, holding his prize. The excitement faded. The sun was setting in the distance and the street lights were coming on. The frog sat down on the bench and opened his palms and the fly was free. Exhausted from the chase and tired in his final days the fly landed on the back of the bench and says “That was fun wasn’t it?”

I think Frank the Frog is on his lunch break and Felix the Fly comes by to visit. They’re friends.
Frank is old and Felix is young, and here they gather and a bond was created.
The flowers turned out alright. I’d like to see the sketchbook one finished.

Very expensive artsupplies wasted fir doodeling without aim and purpose or goal.
Right before I read your comment I was thinking how fun that she plays with her supplies, not treating them too precious. It inspires me to just enjoy what I have! I love that the aim and purpose is the joy of creativity! Now to dig out my supplies and sketchbook…. 😍
The only art supplies that are waisted, are the art supplies that never get used. I believe in this to my core. I have lost years and years of art making, learning, and exploration of different art materials because of the fear that I might be wasting the materials. I can only imagine how much I would have grown as an artist if I had just allowed myself to play and learn by doing. To anyone who reads this, please do not feel precious about the materials you chose to own. You learn by doing.. not by holding on for the perfect moment that might never come.
