    I've become a fan of Dennis very late but in this era of rampant fake news, snowflakes and tyranny of the elite, he is one of a few who bring reason and common sense back to an increasingly dangerous left and I say this as a leftist myself who feel this new intolerant and often violent left is unrecognizable from the noble leftist that I admire like MLK or Gandhi.

    Fear of God the is beginning of wisdom. Yes, if you do not think that God exists, then you would certainly not fear Him. But if there were to be no God, then what is human life about? Life has no meaning if God does not exist and no right or wrong. So it is understandable why humanist atheists think the way they do. There is a big problem though, God could say, on that basis, it is not wrong for someone to end up in great suffering forever. You could not blame God if that is your philosophy.

    1:20 Self-described observant Jew works on the sabbath, but that's OK 'cuz... reasons. It's more important to talk about the Bible than to observe God's word. 2:55: "Trhough you will be blessed all the families of the Earth." The same families who suffer a death in that family (see God's condemnations in Genesis). 4:00: "leftism is a religion." Apparently Mr Prager thinks any world view is a religion. Where in left-leaning politic does it say anything about a supernatural being, worship, or immutable laws handed down from a god or gods? Not even 5 min utes in and he's bending meanings and definitions. EGAD!

    So I asked google the question, how do I make a better world and this is the response I received.
    We need to reconnect to nature and reconnect back to our bodies.
    We have forgotten that we are a creation of Mother Earth. We are a
    living-breathing organism just like the forests, the animals and the
    jungles that birth life around us. As they die, a part of us dies too
    because we are a part of a larger interconnected web of beings. We have
    separated and disconnected ourselves from the essence of our beauty that
    lies in what we are destroying everyday. We don’t want to see the truth
    of what is happening to our world because it hurts too much to face the
    pain. But we need to get in touch with our emotions and feelings again
    to see what is there and wants to come through us. Within is an inner
    wisdom that will help us return our world to a balanced state of
    equilibrium. We can no longer suppress our feelings because Mother
    Nature reflects back to us it’s own raging earthquakes, bursting
    volcanoes, and chaotic tsunamis. We cannot fight with nature because
    then we would be fighting with ourselves.

    Shame!!! To paraphrase Dennis Prager himself: "Dennis Prager thinks speaking to this group is more important than keeping the Shabbot? "So what?!"

    • @downeybill
      @downeybill 7 лет назад +3

      it's a measure of how important and God centred he feels this event to be, so that's what!

    • @ShlaymehRifkind
      @ShlaymehRifkind 7 лет назад

      The "quote" I borrowed was a paraphrase from a story Dennis himself likes to tell about his own Rabbi. That feelings are secondary to rationality. His Rabbi was reacting to Dennis when Dennis said he didnt FEEL like doing something he was required to do. "Dennis doesnt FEEL like doing something?" Asked his Rabbi, SO WHAT!!! Your comment put light on the problem and is exactly my point. As if the most important calculation is How important HE feels about doing something. He FEELS it is more important to desecrate the Sabbath and speak to a group of G-d Centered people. He FEELS? He understands? Does Dennis feel that he understands the right thing to do better than the Creator of the World? That is preposterous and more than a little narcissistic. Obviously G-d knows better than we do and if these good people needed to hear Dennis's message (entirely possible) there is a world of alternatives which G-d would condone. The highest attribute G-d gave man was Free Choice. But G-d does not wish to control the World by our using our Free Choice INcorrectly. And Dennis knows this. He also knows that once he compromises on this major issue. (And desecration of the Sabbath is a very huge sin) His audience will learn from this. If Dennis can compromise on this - why can't those in his audience) compromise on something else which they FEEL is also important. Dennis's flagrant desecration of G-ds Laws prevents his important ideas from reaching a much wider audience. I know of quite a few Observant Jews who absolutely do not take him seriously precisely because of his "I FEEL" attitude about his Judaism. So yes. He needs to feel shame and correct this error and he will be even more successful than is he now. Because G-d prefers to run the world by us using our free choice according to his will.

      Shlaymeh Rifkind - dp has said many times (including in this video) that he's not Orthodox. thus he doesn't accept the Orthodox/traditional view of what constitutes desicration of Shabbos. I can't speak for him but think he distinguishes between (for example) using electricity or driving to facilitate an event such as this vs. using electricity or driving to go to the mall. so, your real argument with him is that he's not Orthodox.

      Would the Rabbi from 770 write a post like your and criticize a Jew (breaking any Halacha) on a public forum?

    • @ShlaymehRifkind
      @ShlaymehRifkind 7 лет назад

      I cannot speak for the "Rabbi from 770". However, I can speak for myself and apparently quite a few Observant Jews. In unashamedly and publicly desecrating the Sabbath - Dennis knowingly places himself firmly in a very specific category were we can and should make other assumptions about his decision making process as a Jew. We are quite used to the vast majority overlooking the truth - but what is especially troubling is how Dennis can be so right (!) on so many important world views - yet he has this issue so totally confused. He will understand that I have touched on the crux of the matter. I dare say Dennis is perfectly capable of answering this discrepancy - and in fact, needs to do so publicly.

    • @FM-uk3nm
      @FM-uk3nm 5 лет назад

      @Destiny tran Dennis Prager has been married three times and divorce twice. Dennis is running 66% divorce rate himself.

    • @FM-uk3nm
      @FM-uk3nm 5 лет назад

      @Destiny tran look up the divorce rate you'll see your wrong. It might not reach 50% but it's pretty close. Besides illegals represent maybe 8% of the U S population. They can't contribute that much to the 50% or so of the divorce rate.

    I am not a lefty, but the claim by Dennis that they hate God & hence morality (his) is reminiscent of the church's wide spread persecutions throughout history based on similar stand. Frankly, religious doctrine has had its days. Secularism is the most mature and wise framework for dignified human living. Compare that with the dark days of religious rule today and in the past.
